Managment 2023-10

The document describes the Time-Grid Diagram Method for project scheduling. It involves drawing activity arrows horizontally to represent duration on a grid, allowing the clear visualization of float times. The method includes drawing the critical path network first, then the activity arrows within a time-grid from left to right based on sequence, with vertical lines not representing duration. An example construction project is provided to find the critical path and draw the time-grid diagram.

The Time–Grid Diagram Method:

As shown previously in CPM the length of arrow does not represent the activity duration and the
network doesn't show clearly the float time of the activity. But in time–grid duration all activities arrows
are drawn horizontally so that it represents the duration.
Drawing Steps:
1. Draw the critical path network.
2. Draw within time–grid the arrow to show activity duration.
3. Activities arrows are drawn horizontally from the left to the right.
The vertical line doesn’t mean any duration but how the activities sequence
Example:
The following network represents a construction project activities. Find the critical path and draw the
time grid diagram for the project.
