Japanese and Filipinos are often considered to have resemblances. Sometimes,


these two may share the same qualities probably because the Philippines was once ruled
by Japan. However, if you observe at them intensely, you will notice that they too have
unique qualities.
The Japanese are known to use chopsticks while Filipinos make use of spoon and
fork when eating. With regards to greetings, the Japanese people usually bow to their
elders. In contrast, Filipinos greet their family and friends through hugs and kisses or
“beso-beso”. In the conduct of weddings, Filipinos usually follow Western traditions and
indulge in lavish celebrations. Contrary to this, the Japanese are more conservative in
their weddings. They wear traditional costumes and conduct tea parties as part of their
