1 Software Installation 4
1.1.3 Introduction
This document describes the software installation procedure for Cios Select systems on a
Celsius W530 PC. It is valid only for the SW versions mentioned on the cover sheet. Usu‐
ally software installation using the system SW DVD is not necessary since the re-installa‐
tion is performed using the COBR Tool. See the Cios Select CB-DOC, chapter installation /
FLUOROSPOT Compact / Software on the CS Intranet (Print Number AX41-060.816.14).
To install the software, you will need the corresponding system SW installation DVD,
which is not included in the system shipment. Check the spare parts catalog for the appli‐
cable version of your system.
1.2 Preparations
1.2.1 Prerequisites
Make sure that there is an up-to-date recovery image of the system partition.
If necessary, create a recovery image of the system partition; refer to ( Recovery im‐
age / Page 49).

1.3.1 Preparations
With a Celsius W530 PC, the boot menu is always enabled and is accessible using the F12
- Load application
This option is used if you need to install only the operating system and the application.
The second partition of the HD with the medical studies is not affected. The existing
medical studies are retained. Continue at ( New installation of software without parti‐

Follow the instructions on the screen accordingly.
Do not remove the SW DVD until you are prompted to insert the second medium. Once
the download process has ended, the FL-C remains in the boot-up screen
( Fig. 11 Page 18).
Do not remove the last installation medium unless the FL-C has finally booted up to the
boot-up screen!!
- A command window will open, the XCU, several components (C-Arm control panel/
Trolley control panel), firmware downloads of drives, and the generator download
will be performed. This procedure may take up to 30 minutes!
Finally another reboot is performed.
This is the end of the SW installation procedure.
n When finished, the FL-C application boot up( Fig. 11 Page 18).
Remove the software installation DVD from the drive.
n Switch OFF the system and wait until the system has shut down.

- Confirm the request for Version Check and wait until it has ended
Version Check will run automatically
During a regular SW installation or upgrade, the FW/SW of generator board D610 and
D611 will not upgrade. As a work around, they must be upgraded manually via gener‐
ator service programs. Please pay special attention to the part “Component: Genera‐
tor_Get”( Fig. 21 Page 26) in Version Check result.
To do firmware upgrade, the hardware switch “SERV” switch must be in position “2”. The
switch is located in the D610 board.
1. The “User” option is for “Configuration Settings” only (the default display)
2. Select “Technical Service” and click inside the password field.
An onscreen keyboard will open( Fig. 26 Page 31)
3. Enter the service password

Due to a bug in the VA10 software, the following work-around is required for reconfigur‐
ing the Location.
n Select another Location, different from the one shown AND different from the one
originally written down ( Tab. 6 Page 10).
Fig. 30: Activate the IE Proxy configuration from the Central SRS Configuration page
For initial setup of the internet-based connection, refer to the SRS configuration docu‐
ment, XP00-SRS.843., in the corresponding product CB-DOC (Service - Siemens Remote
Service - SRS - Configuration).
A new one-time password (OTP) is required to re-establish the SRS connection using in‐
To set up the internet based connection, you need to contact the SRS Help Desk
( Tab. 10 Page 37).
This configuration will establish an SSL tunnel through the hospital network directly into
the Internet via outgoing TCP port 443.
Not all countries allow direct access (outgoing via TCP port 443) into the Internet --> part
of the clarification process using the SRS configuration management checklist.

Troubleshooting:
- Enter the service menu and log in with the service key
- Press CTRL+ESC
The Windows Start menu will open.
- Click on the menu Programs --> Command prompt
A command box opens.
- Test the connection to the IBC SSL server with a telnet command,
see ( Tab. 9 Page 37).

(empty black window)
If there is an unsuccessful connection, the message “connect failed” will be dis‐
played.
Contact the SRS Help Desk, see ( Tab. 10 Page 37)if you get this error result.
Prerequisite for the following configuration steps for system management is that the SRS
router is set up correctly (refer to the corresponding system startup instructions). Other‐
These instructions are not applicable for initial system management installation.
The following paragraph describes how to restart system management if it was previous‐
ly in use.
Every time <System Management > is selected, the system management install.log is up‐
dated and displayed in the browser window ( Fig. 34 Page 38).
n At the top of the page the Location, which was already configured under Central SRS
Configuration, is displayed automatically and appears dimmed.
n The IP address of the DICOM Connection that was configured under network setting
(control panel) is displayed under Network Adapter TCP/IP address
( Fig. 35 Page 38).
If Outside NAT is configured, the IP addresses for Event Mgmt. and SW distribution server
are also displayed (the screen shot below shows only an example!).
Fig. 35:
n To test the connectivity, press the <Ping> button. Since this is a very time-critical ac‐
tion, it is possible that a connection will not be immediately established. Because of
this, several attempts should be made.
The server must send back a message displayed in the status bar:
Fig. 36: Pinging the System Management server
- Once the installation / registration process has finished, the system management in‐
stall.log is displayed( Fig. 37 Page 39).
Press <Continue>, ( Fig. 37 Page 39).
-
The status of the MNP is as shown in( Fig. 39 Page 41).
Checking the installation
If the installation / registration fails, a rollback to an offline Iinstallation is performed,
see ( Fig. 41 Page 41).
n The illustration( Fig. 39 Page 41) shows an example of the system management
page following a successful installation & registration / activation. An appropriate tem‐
plate is present on the FL-C.
- Offline installation
- Press <Continue> when uninstallation is complete and the system management in‐
stall.log is displayed ( Fig. 37 Page 39).
- A reboot request is displayed on the following page, see ( Fig. 43 Page 43).

1.5.16 Backup
n Prepare an up to date backup ( System backup / Page 7).
a) Restoring a recovery image which does not contain the RUH package(s)
b) Reinstallation of the system software
c) Replacing the primary hard disk (which leads to: a) restore of a recovery image)
d) Replacing the PC (which leads to: a) restore of a recovery image)
n All the RUH packages which were pushed from the remote server to the system are
archived automatically on the second hard disk (service partition) on the FL-C. The
path is Z:\MedHome\sd_store.
Fig. 44: RUH Packages on the 2nd HDD (Service Partition)
n How to find out if all available RUH packages for the system are already installed in
the current SW installation
- Open Windows explorer and navigate to Z:\MedHome\sd_store.
- Check for available (archived) RUH packages, ( Fig. 44 Page 49).
n Open a second Windows explorer and navigate to C:\MedHome\sd_store.
If all the packages located in Z:\MedHome\sd_store are also present in C:
\MedHome\sd_store, the current SW installation is up-to-date. No further ac‐
tion is required.
If packages are present in Z:\MedHome\sd_store which are NOT present in C:
\MedHome\sd_store, install the package(s) according to the appropriate up‐
date instructions!
n After this is done, create an up-to-date recovery image.
n A technical info is published in the CS knowledge base (SKB0037721). This is a refer‐
ence table for all RuH packages that have been released for the RFU platform. To es‐
tablish whether a package applies to a particular system, contact your dispatcher/
USC/RSC.
Perform the steps in this chapter only if the system is equipped with a local printer.
The printer drivers for the Sony UP-971AD / 991AD /D898MD were already pre-installed
during SW installation.
Prerequisites
1. For the necessary test exposures, make sure the printer has paper or film.
Additional printer settings in the user mode (only with existing “DICOM Print” li‐
cense)
The Sony printer can be set as the default printer under DICOM Properties.
