COMPRESSION FORCE CALIBRATION


PREREQUISITES: None
OBJECTIVE: To calibrate the compression force display
a) Compression scale
Preferred: RMI Model 163
Alternate: Standard Bathroom Scale
b) Basic service hand tools
ESTIMATED TIME: 15 minutes

PERFORMANCE
STANDARD: MQSA / ACR: Compression force of at least 25 pounds shall be provided. The
initial power drive must be between 25 pounds (111 newtons) and 45
pounds (200 newtons).
SAFETY: The production of x-rays is not required to complete this adjustment.

18 x 24 bucky
18 x 24 compression paddle
Compression scale tool centered laterally on bucky along chestwall

To release lock
Turn hex head lock bolt counter clockwise
OR Push down recessed philips head screw

S6, DIP 4 = on = calibration mode
S6, DIP 8 = off
S4, rotary = 5
