THE WISE MIND

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) uses the concept of a reasonable,


emotional, and wise mind to describe a person's thoughts and behaviors.

Reasonable Emotional

Reasonable mind is our thinking Emotional mind is our


state of mind. Practical, pragmatic, emotional state of mind. Acting
logical, rational, task-and rule- based on our mood, urges &
oriented. Grounded in facts & reason. emotional responses.

Wise
mind
Wise mind is the balance between reasonable mind and emotional mind,
also known as "the Middle Way" . In this state, you are able to respond to
events rationally, while acknowledging and validating your emotions.
