1. Given the description of the product and the work that will occur in the guitar

factory, which production process layouts could be considered? Which do you

recommend? Explain.

The production process layout that Saul wants is an assembly line. Saul wants to keep the

products a high demand and attractive which means that having the assembly line will

make the guitars basic parts and processing make a final product. I also recommend

assembly line to facilitate basic operating and customizing.

2. What types of software should be used to help manage the scheduling and

operations of the guitar factory? What benefits will they provide?

Factory planning and scheduling by software groups can be used to maintain scheduling

and operations in the factory. The aspects of effective production planning and scheduling

for enhanced productivity, control and prioritization are facilitated by the software.

3. How should the VP evaluate performance of the factory? Discuss the metrics that

must be balanced to achieve Saul’s goals.

The VP Needs to evaluate the performance affectively by considering the KPI. KPI

stands for key performance indicators which are the soul of factories that provide basis

for measuring the performance. they provide insight of the factories effectiveness and

involve manufacturing cycle time, throughput, capacity utilization, overall equipment

effectiveness, scheduling, supplier quality, yield Ain other important areas that must be

optimized to attain the goal.

The role packaging will play in the success of Saul’s guitar company is protect the

product an provide a brand and its details on it. it will help give a feeling of quality or

luxury, in this case the high quality in customized guitars, the packaging needs to match
