SOP 004: Add Google Tag Manager to a WordPress

Site
Goal: to add Google tag manager to wordpress site

Ideal Outcome: better analytics, tracking and optimization

Prerequisites or requirements: Google Tag Manager account should be created, HFCM plugin
installed in wordpress

Why this is important: We can use it to manage all the tags and codes deployed on the site,
facebook tracking pixel, universal analytics or google analytics for tracking code and so on

Where this is done: Google tag manager and Wordpress site

When this is done: after the website is made

Who does this: Web developer/SEO

Go to https://tagmanager.google.com/#/home
Select the website or create a new one which we will be adding the
Google Tag manager to

Then bring out the codes of that website to install in Wordpress site

Copy the first code which is the <head> and go to the wordpress site
Click here

Fill in the details like this


Then copy and paste the <head> code here

Now again go back to tag manager and copy the <body> tag

Go back to the wordpress site and click here again


Fill in these details

Go down, paste the copied <body> code from tag manager here and
press save

And now we can see under the HFCM we can all the snippets and the
process of Adding google tag manager to a Wordpress site in
complete
