ED 310 Final Exam

Anguiled, Emilyn E.

1.Discuss “Teachers as person in authority by legal fiction?”

Republic Act No. 4670 June 18. 1966
The Magna Carta for Public School Teachers
Section 2 states that “teachers” and shall apply to all
public school teachers except those in the professional staff
colleges and universities. As used in this Act, the term ‘teacher
shall mean all persons engaged in classroom teaching, in any
level of instruction, on full-time basis, including guidance
counselors, school libraries, industrial arts or vocational
instructors, and all other persons performing supervisory and or
administrative functions in all schools, colleges and
universities operated by the Government or its political
subdivisions; but shall not include school nurses, school
physicians, school dentists, and other school employee.
Presidential Decree No. 1006-promolgated on September 22,
1976 and made effect on January 1. 1972
According to this decree, teaching refers to the profession
primarily concerned with the classroom instruction at the
elementary and secondary levels both in public and private
schools. The term teacher refers to the person engaged in
teaching, including guidance counselor, school librarians
industrial arts or vocational instructors, and all other persons
performing supervisory and or administrative functions. A
professional teacher is one who has “a permanent appointment
under the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers and all others
who may qualify for registration.”
Education for Sustainable Development requires far-reaching
changes in the way education is often practiced today."
2. Can a teacher invoke as person in authority outside the school
premises?

Ans.
Teacher as a person in authority has minimal or limited
rights outside the school premises. For a teacher’s rights
focuses inside the school premises. But there are instances where
a teacher can perform his/her authority as a teacher, like when
the student is bullied in the street (outside the school
premises) by other students so the teacher can reprimand the
bullied students. The teacher also may call the authorities
whenever dispute is happening outside the school premises outside
the classes time.
Therefore, the teacher as person in authority can invoke
outside THE School premises but limited or minimal.

3. What is meant “Education for sustainable development?”

Ans.
Education for all, for sustainable development. This the
program of the recent education system in the Philippines sustain
the development of the country and the life of the Filipino
people by educating every Filipino. No one should be left behind.
This program of the Department of Education is so beneficial to
the country and to all the citizenry of the Philippines.
The aim of the education System of our country is to educate
every Filipino, from there development starts and sustain.
Education is the key of success of an individual.
“Education for sustainable development means in order to
sustain the development or progress of the country educate every
citizenry for education is the ultimate way where an individual
can achieve success. If every individual is educated, then the
country is progressive.

4. The compensation received by teachers qualifies in the

criteria of a living wages. But there are still complaints that
it is not enough to meet the ends. In this connection how
financial literacy play a role to financial freedom?

Ans.
Teacher’s salary rate or wages of teachers really compensate
the work and education gained by the teachers? Or teachers are
under paid or overpaid? These are the queries brought out by some
teachers for we are the only country paying such rate to
teachers.
The complaints on the financial deficiency of teachers might
be the cause of insufficient salary.
Financial literacy is every individuals’ concern. Budgeting
is a skill, whether you have a lot in the pocket or a little if
you know how to budget, then you still have for everything. And I
think this is what every teacher should know. For sometimes
teachers think that if you are already a teacher you already have
a lot in your pocket that leads you to spend more and more until
you realize that nothing has left but debt.
Role of Financial Literacy to financial freedom
1. It recognizes the things to prioritize. (what and when to
buy things)
2. Changes the spending habit of every individual
3. Develops the skills in segregating budgets
4. and controls the expenses of the family

5. Why peace education is essentially transformative?

Ans.
Peace education is essentially transformative because it
educates even the unreached territory of the country where IPs,
Muslims, and even rebels. Peace education provides methods to
transform the potential for conflict and violence towards
sustainable peace. With its systematic orientation,
transformative peace education addresses both individual people
as well as social structures system.
Peace education is essentially transformative. It cultivates
the knowledge base, skills, attitudes and values that seeks to
transform people’s mindsets, attitudes and behavior that, in the
first place, have either created or exuberated violent conflicts.
It seeks this transformation by building awareness and
understanding, developing concerns and challenging personal and
social action that will enable people to create conditions and
systems that actualize nonviolence, justice, environmental care
and other environmental values.

6. what are the attributes of peaceable classroom, why school put

signage that it is a zone of peace?

Ans.
Attributes of Peaceable Classroom
a. Safe and warm welcoming
b. Secure and bullying-free
c. comfortable learning environment
A peaceable classroom is one where students feel peace and
comfort while in the classroom.

Schools put signage that it is zone of peace to secure boys

and girls at school, and avoid that education is disrupted
because of armed conflict declaring the school safe zone. It also
secures protective learning environment in conflict and post-
conflict situations, raise awareness among communities, school
management and children, and build local and national level
engagement to protect education. This is a way to implement the
Safe Schools Declaration through a bottom-up approach by engaging
local schools and communities. Where the context allows, we work
through partners to engage armed non-state actors among others to
not disrupt education.
