Data Terminal TT-3006E (DT4646E) Software Installation Guide

SOFTWARE:

The DT4646E Data Terminal is delivered with the following 8 self-extracting software
program discs:

a) Capsat Message Handling Software version 1.52 English for use with TT-3020A

b) Capsat Message Handling Software version 2.22 English for use with TT-3020B
(H2095B)

c) Capsat Message Handling Software version 3.32 English for use with TT-3020C
(H2095C and H1622C/H1622D) Full Install

d) Capsat Message Handling Software version 3.32 English for use with TT-3020C
(H2095C and H1622C/H1622D) Upgrade version

e) Radiotelex Interface version 1.41 English for use with SAILOR Programme 2000.

f) TELEX over RADIO version 2.50 (English and Russian version) for use with SAILOR
System 4000.

g) TELEX over Satellite version 2.4.5 (English version) for use with SAILOR Sat-B.

h) Utility Disk

INSTALLATION:

The following describes how to install the appropriate software program in the terminal
as it is delivered from Thrane & Thrane:

1)
Installing “Capsat Message Handling Software” version 1.52, 2.22 & 3.32 or
“Radiotelex Interface” version 1.41:

Switch on the Data Terminal and wait until boot procedure has completed.

Insert disc with the appropriate software program into the disc drive.
Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.
Follow on-screen instructions.

2)
Installing "TELEX over RADIO" version 2.50

Insert "Utility Disk" into the disc drive.


Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

When screen reads the message:


"Do you want to change the boot sequence to A: C: (y/n) ?",
Press "y"

Insert "TELEX over RADIO" disc and press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

When screen reads the menu:


1: Format flash disk
2: Install Sailor/Skanti TELEX over RADIO program.
3: Install Thrane & Thrane program loader.
Choice: [1,2,3]?

Press "2"

Installation commences.
During the installation process you will be prompted for selection of the ENGLISH or the
RUSSIAN (Cyrillic) version to be installed.
Press "E" or "R".
NOTE : If you do not respond to this, within 60 seconds the ENGLISH version will be
installed automatically.

When installation procedure has finalized the screen reads:

"Installation completed."
"Press any key to reboot the computer then remove disk."

DO NOT REMOVE THE DISC!!!

Instead, press any key and the terminal will boot automatically.
When the previously mentioned menu appears again, remove disc and press
CTRL+ALT+DEL.
Installation is now complete and the program starts up.

3)
Installing "TELEX over Satellite" version 2.4.5

Insert "Utility Disk" into the disc drive.


Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

When screen reads the message:


"Do you want to change the boot sequence to A: C: (y/n) ?",
Press "y"

Insert "TELEX over Satellite" disc and press CTRL+ALT+DEL.


When started up, type the command INSTALL and press Enter.
When installation procedure has finalized, set in the Back-Up disk, and you are up
running.

4)
RE-INSTALLATION:

The procedure to be used for re-installation depends on which program is already


residing in the terminal.

4a)
If "TELEX over RADIO" or “TELEX over Satellite” resides in the terminal:

Insert "TELEX over RADIO" disc into disc drive.


Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

When screen reads the menu:


1: Format flash disk
2: Install Sailor/Skanti TELEX over RADIO program.
3: Install Thrane & Thrane program loader.
Choice: [1,2,3]?

Press "1"

Flashdisk will now be formatted (all programs are erased!)


Terminal will re-boot and the same menu appears again.

This time Press "3"

Thrane & Thrane program loader is now installed following which the terminal will have
the same status as when delivered from ECI as new.

Follow the appropriate instructions listed earlier how to install either program software.

4b)
If "Message Handling Software ver. 2.22", "Message Handling Software ver. 3.32",
"Message Handling Software ver. 1.52" or "Radiotelex Interface ver. 1.41" resides in
the terminal:

If you wish to change to any other of these 4 software programs or install a new version
of either one of these:
Insert the appropriate program disc, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and follow the on-screen
instructions.
