it’s time to make this iconic Christmas treat –
Gingerbread Cookies!

We’ve prepared an easy recipe and a video, so

Ingredients:
⅓ Cup Syrup 1,5 Tsp Ground ginger

⅓ Cup Granulated sugar 1 Tsp Grated orange zest

2,5 Tsp Ground cinnamon 1Tsp Ground cloves


1 Stick Butter ½ Tsp Salt

1 Egg 1 Cup Icing sugar

1 Tsp Baking soda 1 Egg white

1 ½ Cups Flour

Decorate with
Red M&Ms, or your choice of candy

Prep time: 1,5 hours


Servings: 20-25 cookies
Equipment: Pot, rolling pin, cookie cutter (gingerbread man or woman), baking paper,
oven tray, oven, piping bag, whisk

Method:
- Take a pot and measure in your syrup, sugar, orange zest and spices (cinnamon,
ginger and cloves).
- Bring to a boil and move pot away from the heat.
- To the hot mixture, add the butter and mix until butter has melted in.
- Set aside to cool, and when the mixture is lukewarm, whisk in the egg.

- In a bowl, measure in your flour, salt and baking soda and whisk.
- Add the flour mixture into the pot and mix until dough is well combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate overnight.

- The next day, preheat the oven to 390°F/200°C.


- Lightly flour a clean surface and using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch
thick.
- With a cookie cutter in the shape of a gingerbread man/woman, make cut outs and
transfer to a baking paper lined baking tray with a spatula.
- Bake the cookies in the oven for 6-7 minutes. Cool down.

- As they cool down, make the icing.


- Measure the egg white and icing sugar into a bowl, and whisk for 3-5 minutes until the
icing is thick and shiny.
- Transfer icing into a piping bag.
- Decorate the gingerbread cookies with icing and your choice of candy.
- Let the icing set, and serve with a hot cup tea, coffee, chocolate or glöggi.
