2011 12 Basic Information Regular Classes Fall
Welcome Back! Summer flew by with Nationals in Wisconsin Dells, the Rivertown Days Parade, summer classes, State Fair auditions, etc. At Nationals, 150 dancers were named National Champions with 10 first place finishes. Giant Clog received High Score Senior Line, Ruby Lyrical and Omni Lyrical also placed in top 8 senior routines. Sold and Let Er Rip placed Platinum and in the top 10 Teen & Junior lines. Footloose placed Platinum and Top Five Senior Duet. Standout dancers, Brooke Francis and Grace Larson, did a fantastic job! Tiffany Thurmes received a national scholarship from Hall of Fame based on dance and academic ability Congratulations Tiffany! Congratulations to all on another successful competition season!
DROPPED CLASSES AND REFUNDS: If you intend to drop a class or quit, you must send WRITTEN NOTIFICATION to Jan Tripp. Phone calls, messages or not attending class is not sufficient notice. You will be billed for classes until written notification is received. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN AFTER THE FIRST CLASS. IF A CLASS IS MISSED, IT CAN BE MADE UP IN A SIMILAR CLASS, BUT NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS ON A LATER CLASS WILL BE GIVEN.
During the Year: We are communicating all registration forms, newsletters and handouts via email now. Please contact the studio if you are not receiving these. Jans Studio: (651) 438-3690 www.jansschoolofdance.com. It is your responsibility to keep up on extra classes and information.
Please attend your first choice of class for fall. Jan will notify you if it will not work by August 30th. No other info will be sent out to you - see you this fall!

General Information:
Costumes: If you are enrolling in a combination class (example: Tap/Ballet/Jazz), only one routine will be performed at the Spring Revue. This means that only one costume will be needed. The average cost for regular class costumes is $55-$65. DANCE ATTIRE AND DRESS: Boys should wear knit shorts and T-shirts or sweats. Girls should wear a leotard and tights. You can wear a skirt, biker shorts or dance pants over it. Tank tops can be worn over the leotard if they are fitted ~ NO LOOSE T-SHIRTS. Hair must be pulled back for all classes. Kneepads are recommended for both boys and girls. We again will be selling dancewear etc at the Dance studio. Shoe Information: New shoes will be available at the Studio on August 11 and throughout the year. Boys Only: Black jazz shoes. Gymnastics: Bare foot. Hip Hop Jazz or Jazz/Tumbling: Jazz shoes (black if new). Jazz/Clogging Jazz shoes (black if new) and black tap shoes. Jazz/Lyrical Combo: Jazz shoes (black if new) and tan Paul Wright 1/2 ballet shoes. (wear footless tights or barefoot) Pre-Dance Class: Black tap shoes and any color ballet shoes (rubber bottom bedroom slipper kind is okay too.) Pre-Competition Classes: Any color ballet shoes for girls. Undecided jazz and clog shoes (wear last years for now). Black tap or black jazz for boys. Tap/Ballet/Jazz and Tap/Jazz/Tumbling: Black tap shoes and any color ballet shoe (we sell white).
**There will be a shoe swap Thurs, August 11 from 5:00 8:00 pm, or you can look in the used shoe book too.
