HollowKnight Guide 1
HollowKnight Guide 1
Welcome to our Hollow Knight guide. The first thing you need to know about this game is that it's a 'Metroidvania'
game. The term Metroidvania derives from Castlevania and Metroid. As you can imagine, Metroidvania games
feature mechanics similar to these 2 games. More importantly, these games feature a world containing locked doors
and passages that the player can see from at any point, but can only access after meeting certain requirements,
such as a key, an ability, etc. Hollow Knight doesn't hold your hand or tell you what to do; you are dropped in this
world and it is up to you to explore, discover and finish. This guide will help you explore the maps, find optional
items and progress with the story (hopefully).

Game Basics
In this section we'll go through the most basic aspects of the game and some general tips.
Hit Points
Health is represented with little white masks on the top left corner of the screen. You start with 5 and every time
you're hit, touch spikes or any other damage dealing structures, you lose one mask. Being hit with only one mask
left means death. You will be teleported to your last rest stop and lose all your Geo (the game's currency). You will
leave a 'Shade' behind. A ghost that will have to kill in order to recover your stuff. Killing enemies will replenish your
soul bar, which is what you use to 'Focus' and recover hit points. Check your configurations to see which key
triggers focus, you will have to press and hold, your character will charge and recover hit points.
Geo
The game's currency. You can get these by killing enemies or hitting Geo rocks. The latter are found scattered all
over the world.
Completion Rate
This game features a 107% completion rate. Many items, abilities, spells, quests and bosses contribute towards that
percentage. We will do our best to list every item and might make a more detailed section later on.
Basic Tips
Do not worry too much about grinding Geo early in the game. The Geo drop rate proggressively scales as you make
progress. Make enough to buy a Map, Compass, and a Quill. These will help you explore the world. Grinding for
more than this can end up being a waste of time, as you will get more Geo innevitably.
Jump and hit. This is how you get to some places that are otherwise unreachable. When you jump and aim down
before you attack, you can bounce depending what you hit. Spikes and other structures will make you bounce and
reach higher altitude with your jumps.
Explore. The game doesn't tell you where to go, and the only way to progress is to explore and trigger events, find
keys, items, among other things that will help you progress through the game.
Avoid death. If you've got Mask left and ahead there are only hard enemies or you don't wanna risk it, quit the game
and load your save. You will maintain all your progress and spawn on the last Bench you rested at.
There is a way for the player to equip a Charm if they don’t have the necessary Notches to do so. After attempting to
equip a Charm five times, it will eventually work, however the Knight will become Overcharmed. While the Knight is
Overcharmed, the health bar will have a purple aura and the Knight will take twice as much damage from anything
that can cause it. To remove this effect, remove the Charm that broke the Notch limit. You will not be able to add an
additional Charm if all of the Notches are in use, and only one Charm can be equipped past the Notch limit.

Spells & Abilities
The white energy that can be gained by hitting enemies and Soul Totems is referred to as SOUL. It can be seen in
the top left corner of the screen as a circular meter that will fill up with a white liquid as SOUL is gained, giving the
meter a mask appearance when it’s full.
SOUL is needed to use the Focus ability, which heals the player, or to cast spells to attack enemies. When the
meter does not have enough to be used, the colour inside will be a dull grey, but once enough SOUL is
accumulated, it will glow for a moment before becoming white inside.
Of course, with Focus and the variety of spells you will be using, the SOUL you collect will deplete very quickly. Soul
Vessels can be acquired throughout the game and are used as additional storage for SOUL. They are shown as
small circles left of the main SOUL meter. When the main meter has empty space, any SOUL stored in the Soul
Vessels will quickly fill up the main meter.
To acquire a Soul Vessel, the player must collect Vessel Fragments in order to create the additional space. It takes
3 fragments to create a full Soul Vessel.
Spells
You can use SOUL to cast Spells, activating them by holding down Focus/Cast, tapping Focus/Cast, or looking up
or down. This is where Soul Vessels become a necessity as you gain more and more Spells to use.
List of Spells:
Focus
How to use: Hold down the key set for Focus/Cast to regenerate health and drain SOUL.

ground that causes a shockwave that deals damage to any enemies that are around.

above the Knight, dealing damage to any enemy in the way.
Shade Soul
How to use: Use the key for Focus/Cast without holding the keys for up or down. This launches a blast at the
enemy, but will blast through all objects in its way, including walls, shields and shells.

in City of tears, it is the upgrade for Vengeful Spirit.

inside the Crystallised Mound. Both Crystal Heart and Desolate Dive are needed to reach it.
Abyss Shriek

energy to be released above the Knight, this time sent out in 4 quick bursts.

this section we’ll list all of the enemies you can encounter, where to find them and what they drop, as well as any
additional information.
You can obtain an item called the Hunter’s Journal after finding a camouflaged creature called The Hunter in
Greenpath. Once given to you, any enemy you kill or have already killed will be added to the journal. To gain more
information on a type of enemy, you’ll have to kill it again a certain number of times depending on the enemy.
Enemy List
Crawlid
Drops: 2 Geo.
Behaviour: Pretty docile, simply wanders back and forth without paying the Knight any attention. It cannot climb up
walls or along ceilings.
Vengefly
Drops: 3 Geo.
Behaviour: Limits its flight to a small area when undisturbed. Once the Knight comes in range, it will let out a squawk
before diving to attack. Killing this enemy is easy as it constantly moves towards you, simply stand still and hit it
when it flies in range, or jump down to strike at it.
Vengefly King
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 65 Geo.
Behaviour: First seen hanging from the ceiling with the old Knight Zote in its clutches. Jump up and strike at it to
initiate the fight. Despite its size, the Vengefly King isn’t too hard to take down, and only has two attacks. It’s more
common attack involves it opening its jaw wide and lunging down at the Knight before curving back up. You can
easily avoid this attack by jumping over it as it moves towards you, even down striking it to get some extra damage
in. Its second attack is a screech that summons 1 to 3 Vengeflies to help attack you. You’ll want to take them out
quickly as they’ll make dodging the Vengefly King harder.
Gruzzer
Drops: 2 Geo.
Behaviour: It flies around aimlessly, bumping into walls, changing direction after coming into contact with whatever it
flies into. Easiest way to kill it is to follow behind and hit it to avoid it bumping into you.
Gruz Mother
Drops: 50 Geo.
Behaviour: Found sleeping in a boss area, and will only attack once she takes damage. Unlike her offspring, the
Gruz Mother has two attacks she can use. A ramming attack, where she will charge herself into an enemy, and a
second, somewhat unpredictable attack, bouncing from the ceiling to the floor and back again at an enemy. When
she charges, you can simply jump over her and attack her from behind when she slams into the wall. With her
second attack, it’s easy to predict where she impacts and stand in a spot of safety as she goes on her rampage.
Once the Gruz Mother dies, she will spawn a swarm of Gruzzers, consisting of 7-8. They must also be killed in order
to leave the boss area, but will drop nothing.
Tiktik
Drops: 2 Geo.
Behaviour: Relatively harmless if you don’t come into contact with them. They crawl and climb along the surface of
the platform they reside, able to make their way up walls and along ceilings. They do not try and attack the Knight.
Aspid Hunter
Drops: 6 Geo.
Aspid Mother
Drops: 10 Geo.
Behaviour: Like the Aspid Hunter, she will hover about until the Knight approaches. She attacks by spawning Aspid
Hatchlings to fight, birthing them one at a time. She can only spawn in a maximum of four at any time, but they can
easily overwhelm you early in the game. It’s best to take the mother out as soon as possible to avoid getting
swarmed by her children. She’ll spawn two more hatchlings once defeated.
Aspid Hatchling
Drops: Nothing.
Behaviour: Spawned by an Aspid Mother, it will immediately fly for the Knight if they’re still in range. Easy to deal
with when there’s only one or two, but can quickly become a problem if four swarm you. Two more will spawn when
an Aspid Mother is killed.
Wandering Husk
Locations: Forgotten Crossroads, Greenpath.
Drops: 3 Geo.
Behaviour: Wanders about back and forth when undisturbed. When the Knight comes into range, it will run and flail
its arms in their direction, dealing damage when it comes into contact. You can either stand still and hit the husk
back as it approaches, or jump over it as it tries to rush you and strike at it from behind.
Husk Hornhead
Drops: 4 Geo.
Behaviour: Like the Wandering Husk, it will wander aimlessly until the Knight approaches it. As soon as it’s
disturbed, it will lower its head and charge at you, but can be easily dealt with by standing still and hitting it back as it
charges, or jumping over it to strike from behind.
Leaping Husk
Drops: 3 Geo.
Husk Bully
Drops: 3 Geo.
Behaviour: Wanders back and forth until the Knight comes into range. Its attack is much like that of the Wandering
Husk, but having a heavier body slows its attack down and shortens the distance. Due to this, it’s relatively easy to
take out and only a real threat when dealing with multiple enemies.
Husk Warrior
Drops: 6 Geo.
Behaviour: Will patrol a small area, going back and forth until it spots the Knight. As soon as it’s disturbed, it will
draw up its shield to any attacks from the front, protecting it from strikes before slowing its shield and striking three
times in a row. Once it’s finished striking, it will pull up its shield again and repeat the same sequence. You can kill it
quickly is to attack it from the front, and jump over it as it begins its three strike attack to hit it from behind.
Downstriking it can also work.
Husk Guard
Drops: 45 Geo.
Behaviour: Will stand in place until the Knight approaches. Once disturbed, it will battle you with two kinds of
attacks. The more powerful attack where it jumps into the air, raising its club and smashing it down at you, this deals
2 masks of damage. The second is a shockwave created when it jumps down, sending waves both left and right.
The first smashing attack can be difficult to avoid without jumping to a higher platform or having the ability to Dash,
while you can simply jump over the shockwaves it creates. It's easier to get a hit or two in after it does this weaker
attack.
False Knight
Behaviour part 1: The main boss of Forgotten Crossroads, it will immediately begin its attack as soon as it falls into
the boss arena when the doors close. It has three kinds of attacks: the first where it uses its mace, raising it above
its head and smashing it down towards the Knight, causing a shockwave in the direction the False Knight is facing.
This can easily be avoided by jumping over the wave before it hits you. The second involves it jumping into the air
and using the weight of its body to cause damage as well as its mace. It will lock on to where you’re standing and
jump into the air, raising its mace above its head and bringing it down with the rest of its body to the spot where you
stood before it jumped. Getting hit by its mace or body will deal damage. This is another attack that can be avoided
if timed right. Simply run under the False Knight as it jumps so it lands with its back facing you, this will give you the
opportunity to get a few hits on it. Its final attack is only triggered after you knock it down and hit the Maggot that
falls out. After being dealt enough damage, it’ll return into the armour and will get angry, smashing its mace from
side-to-side, causing the whole boss area to shake. This causes rocks to fall from the ceiling that will do damage to
the Knight if they hit.
Behaviour part 2: To defeat the False Knight, the battle follows a set pattern due to it having separate health for its
head and its body, or rather its armour. You need to strike its armour and deal enough damage to cause it to fall
down, making the Maggot controlling the body to fall out. When it’s out, you’ll get the chance to deal some serious
damage to the head, gaining SOUL as you do this. You do not gain SOUL for hitting the body, so make sure to use
your Focus ability wisely. Once the Maggot is dealt enough damage, it will crawl back into the armour and go on a
rampage, before returning to its two previous attacks. These attacks will become more intense, with the first
shockwave attack now causing rocks to fall from the ceiling. You must knock the False Knight down two more times,
after the third time, it will get back up and use its rage attack one more time before falling through the floor. You then
jump down after it and finish the Maggot off.
Lifeseed
Behaviour: Lifeseeds emerge from destroyed Lifeblood Cocoons, and will move away from the Knight in an attempt
to escape.
Baldur
Drops: 4 Geo.
Behaviour: Once disturbed, it rolls into a ball and launches itself at the Knight. If it doesn’t hit, it will continue to roll
and bounces off of walls and other Baldur. After a small amount of time, it will unroll and change to face your
direction before rolling towards you again. You can easily jump over it and strike it from the air or from behind to
deal with it.
Elder Baldur
Drops: 50 Geo.
Behaviour: Does not move from its spot, attacking only when an enemy is at long range and curls up into its shell
when you try to strike at it, becoming safe from any damage. It will either summon Balder to attack for it, or spit
venom in your direction that will linger for a short period. Any spawned Balder do not drop Geo, but do provide you
with SOUL to use the Vengeful Spirit spell, as this is the only way to kill the Elder Baldur when it’s not curled up.
Mosscreep
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 2 Geo.
Behaviour: Hides in the grass until disturbed. Once the Knight comes in range, it will rustle its leaves before rising
up and wanders back and forth. It does not try to attack you.
Mosskin
Locations: Greenpath
Drops: 3 Geo.
Behaviour: Wanders back and forth until the Knight approaches. As soon as it spots you, it will rush at you, flailing
its arms much like the Wandering Husk does. Only they move much faster, and striking them as they approach does
not knock them back, so you have to time your jumps more carefully.
Volatile Mosskin
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 5 Geo.
Behaviour: Wanders back and forth aimlessly until it’s disturbed. Once it spots the Knight, it will begin to shake its
body before causing an explosion of orange gas that causes damage. Move away from the Mosskin as soon as it
starts to shake to avoid the orange cloud before rushing in to strike at it as soon as the gas subsides, or attack it
from afar with the Vengeful Spirit spell. After it’s killed, its body will cause one last explosion, so make sure to avoid
where it lands. If it lands in a body of water, it will not explode.
Fool Eater
Locations: Greenpath
Drops: 9 Geo.
Behaviour: Hides in grass that makes it difficult to see. When the Knight walks on it, it will rustle for a second before
snapping up at whatever dares to tread on it, and will stay in that position for a few moments, allowing you to get a
few hits on the plant before it hides back in the grass. You can bait the Fool Eater to snap open by walking on it for
a second and jumping back before rushing forward to strike. You will often find this carnivorous plant guarding Geo
rocks.
Squit
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 5 Geo.
Behaviour: Essentially Hollow Knight’s variation of a mosquito. They will hover about in a small area before being
disturbed, where they will lunge full force at the Knight. They won’t stop until they hit you or anything else they come
into contact with. They can be easily dealt with by baiting it to slam into the ground and then striking it before it can
get back in the air.
Obble
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 4 Geo.
Behaviour: Flies around aimlessly, bouncing off the surfaces it comes into contact with. It will occasionally spit out
four balls of Infection diagonally. You can avoid this attack by standing below it or to the side of it before rushing
forward to strike it down.
Gulka
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 6 Geo.
Behaviour: Emerges when the Knight comes into range and shoots out spiked balls in their direction. You can either
dodge or reflect these balls back at the Gulka to deal damage. It will disappear into the wall again if you get too
close, making it impossible to hit with the base Nail. You must either increase the Nail’s range with a Charm, or use
a long range spell
Maskfly
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: Nothing.
Moss Charger
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 8 Geo.
Behaviour: Hides in the bush and grass until the Knight comes into range. It will then jump up from the ground and
charge at you before diving back into the greenery when it reaches the end of the platform. When a Moss Charger is
struck, the leaves will fall away and will reveal a small bug. It will run away to the end of the platform opposite from
the Knight and dive back into the greenery; it will then appear again and charge. Hitting it the first time only knocks
its leaves off and doesn’t deal any damage. An easy tactic would be to use your Nail for the first hit and then a long
range spell for the second.
Locations: Greenpath.
Behaviour: First encountered acting as a giant bush until the Knight gets close. It starts rustling before revealing its
head and letting out a large roar, and then dives into the greenery on the platform. The Massive Moss Charger is
just three Moss Chargers living together, and hitting it won’t cause the three bugs underneath all the foliage to
emerge. They attacks with two attacks that are relatively simple, but are not easy to dodge with how big and fast the
Massive Moss Charger is. Their first attack is more or less the same as a normal Moss Charger. They’ll launch
themselves at you to deal damage before diving down into the ground to ready themselves for another attack.
Dodging this attack can be difficult as the enemy is quite tall to jump over; instead this is the perfect opportunity to
down strike it once or twice as it passes underneath you. Its second attack involves it leaping into the air and using
its large body to slam down onto the Knight. This can be dodged by moving a little towards the Moss Charger as it
jumps so it lands with its back facing you. Once it’s defeated, the three small bugs will pop out and burrow into the
platform where three normal Moss Chargers can be found. The Massive Moss Charger does not respawn.
Moss Knight
Drops: 40 Geo.
Behaviour: Usually found pretending to hide as a pile of leaves, waiting for the Knight to get into its territory, or
patrols back and forth in wait for an enemy. Skilled with its Nail and Shell, this enemy has four ways to protect itself
and deal damage. When not preoccupied with another attack, it will bring its shell up and block from all sides if you
try to attack, even if you strike from above. Its second attack involves it striking with its Nail, swinging one or two
times and moving forward each time it swings. You can take advantage of this attack by baiting it, and then jumping
over it to get a few strikes at its back while the sequence of its attack plays out. Its third attack is more of a defensive
repositioning, leaping back away from your Nail strikes to avoid taking damage. This is often followed up by its
fourth, ranged attacked. It will spit out balls of thorns at the Knight, taking the opportunity to strike with its Nail while
you try to dodge the thorns. Melee battling with this enemy can be quite tough at the beginning of the game, so
using the Vengeful Spirit spell to deal damage would help.
Durandoo
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 6 Geo.
Behaviour: Passively paces in the acid pools at the bottom of Greenpath. It does not attack the Knight if they get
close, and cannot be harmed from the back or above thanks to its hard shell. Instead it can only be hit from the
front.
Duranda
Locations: Greenpath.
Drops: 4 Geo.
Behaviour: Hovers back and forth peacefully, and doesn’t try to attack the Knight if they get close. It does not take
damage from the back or above thanks to its hard, spikey shell. Much like the Durandoo, it must be hit from the
front.
Uoma
Drops: Nothing.
Behaviour: It floats around, not paying attention to anything around it. It only deals damage if the Knight touches it.
Ooma
Drops: 5 Geo.
Kills for Journal: 12.
Behaviour: It continuously floats up and down in the same area. It doesn’t attack the Knight if they get close, but
their long body can sometimes make it difficult to manoeuvre past them. If it, its body will explode and the orange
ball inside will be freed before homing in on you, exploding if it touches either you or a surface. This explosion will
deal 2 masks of damage, so it’s best to avoid Ooma if you’re low on health.
Ambloom
Drops: 2 Geo.
Behaviour: Wanders back and forth, paying no attention to the Knight but will deal damage if touched. Unlike the
Crawlid, it can be pretty fast, so take it out quickly to avoid getting cornered.
Fungling
Drops: 2 Geo.
Behaviour: It floats in place, only moving from its spot when the Knight gets close enough. It will then slowly float
towards you, causing damage when touched. Their movements can be easily avoided.
Fungoon
Drops: 6 Geo.
Behaviour: It floats around until the Knight gets close enough. It doesn’t move towards the Knight to cause physical
damage, instead spits out a cloud of infection down directly below it. It can only attack in this direction, so it’s better
to attack from above or the sides.
Sporg
Drops: 3 Geo.
Behaviour: Hidden in the wall, on ceilings and on floors until disturbed where the mushrooms will emerge and shoot
a ball of clustered spores that will explode on impact. It will only shoot out one at a time, but one is more than
enough as this explosive will home in on you until it either hits its mark or explodes after a certain amount of time.
The explosion has a large hit radius and deals 2 masks of damage if successful. The Sporg will retreat back into the
surface it’s attached to if the Knight comes too close, making it impossible to hit. It’s possible to bait it out and attack
it before it can retreat, but it’s difficult to do. Attacking with a spell like Vengeful Spirit will help greatly.
Fungified Husk
Drops: 5 Geo.
Behaviour: It wanders back and forth until the Knight comes in range. Very similar to the Volatile Mosskin in the way
it attacks; it will shake its body and create a cloud of infected gas that has a larger radius to a Volatile Mosskin.
Once it’s been killed, its body will cause one last explosion that is the same size as its Mosskin cousin.
Shrumeling
Drops: Nothing.
Behaviour: At first it looks like a normal mushroom sprouting from the ground. Once the Knight gets close, it will
uproot and flee, causing no damage if touched. Easy farming for SOUL.
Shrumal Warrior
Drops: 8 Geo.
Behaviour: Will stand still until disturbed by the Knight where it will let out a short cry before rolling into a ball to
perform one of two attacks. It will either jump into the air and launch itself down at you, or charge directly at you on
the ground. Both of these attacks leave a trail of infectious gas.
Hornet
Locations: Greenpath.
Behaviour part 1: First encountered as the Knight enters Greenpath. She’s then seen several times after, always
darting away when you get too close. Eventually, you’ll approach her at the end of the map, as she’s standing by the
body of another like you. She’ll claim she knows what the Knight is and says she cannot allow them to go any
further, triggering the fight to start. She has four moves she uses to fight. The first is a simple lunge where she
rushes forward with her needle out; this attack doesn’t cover the whole boss area, so you can easily avoid it by
jumping back enough. Her second attack is similar to the first, but this time she lunges for you from the air. She
locks onto your position after jumping before rushing down at you, somewhat similar to one of the False Knight’s
attacks. This attack can also be evaded by moving towards Hornet as she strikes down. Her third attack involves her
throwing her needle in your direction on a thread before pulling it back. This attack doesn’t quite reach the entire
boss arena, so it’s possible to move back enough to be just out of reach. This attack also does damage as the
needle returns to Hornet. Her final attack has two variations as she’s able to perform it on the ground and in the air.
This time she uses her thread as a weapon, slicing anything that comes close to the area around her as she waves
her needle.
Behaviour part 2: Unlike the last boss fight, a couple of Hornet’s attacks give you enough time to heal safely without
having to worry about the next strike. When she throws her needle or uses her thread to slice everything around her
are the moments as they both take time to carry out. Using the Vengeful Spirit spell in this battle will be extremely
helpful as well, as it does more damage than the Nail at this point. When she dashes forward to hit you with her
needle, jump over her and get a few hits in from the back. This is an easy way to deal damage and gain SOUL if you
don’t have enough to use Focus or Vengeful Spirit. Four times throughout the fight, Hornet will fall to her knees to
recover. This is another good opportunity to heal, or use the Vengeful Spirit as hitting her will cause her to recover
immediately. After being defeated, she’ll flee and you’ll be able to pick up the Mothwing Cloak from the corpse,
allowing you to use the Dash ability.
Shade
Behaviour: After dying, a shadow of the Knight appears where they die, or before the room they die in. As you get
close the Shade’s location, it will make an odd noise before homing in on you. It will attack by using its Nail and
using any spells you have learned before dying. The Shade has no set health as it gets stronger as you make your
way through the game.
Additional Information: You will have a broken SOUL meter until the Shade is killed, and it won’t be possible to fill it
up to full until the meter is fixed. If you kill the Shade, your SOUL meter will return to normal and all of the Geo you
lost from your most recent death will be returned to you. However, if you were to die again before killing the first
Shade, all Geo lost with that Shade will disappear. Meaning, if you die with 2000 Geo, collect 50 Geo as you make
your way back and then die again, the Shade you have to kill will only drop 50 Geo.
Walkthrough
Before you read: this game has several possible paths to finish. Meaning that you can go a completely different than
the one described in here and still finish the game. If you're wondering why we chose this path, it's because it's a
path that will net you most of the items needed for the 107% completion rate, without being overly tedious. Some will
be ignored on purpose for that same reason; at the end of the walkthrough we'll make a list of all the items missing.

Before you start, take a few minutes to look at the controls and configure them how you like.
After the intro scene, you'll fall and gain control of your character. The only way to go is to the right. To proceed
break the blockades with a regular attack and continue doing so all the way to the right. You'll encounter some
simple enemies. They won't attack you, their pattern is fairly simple; they go from one side to another endlessly.
Beat the enemies and keep going right until you a more open space with a few floating structures. To the rightmost
side is a Geo rock, which you can hit for some Geo (the game's currency). Grab those Geo and make your way up.
Jump over structure to another until you see a path to the left. As soon as you land on the top, a spike will fall from
the ceiling, it's fairly easy to dodge and it will make a noise before dropping. Make your way left and inspect the
white oval. It'll explain about Souls. You fill your Soul meter by killing enemies, this allows you to Focus and heal
yourself. Later in the game, you'll gain more abilities that are dependant of your Soul meter. A little bit to the left
there's another open space with floating structures and a flying enemy. Remember that you can attack in the air,
and aim up/down/left/right. You might need to jump and attack the flying enemy.
You can now choose to go up or left. Go left first, and make your way to the top, kill the flying enemy and grab the
Geo rock. Note that touching the spikes on the floor will remove one Hit Point and make you start over. On the path
above you'll encounter another flying enemy, a dropping spike and another one of the first enemies you fought.
Once on the top, you'll find another fork. To the left is a blue cocoon that you can destroy, it will drop two blue
creatures that when you kill them, they will grant you 2 additional temporary Hit Points. Now go right, and break the
blockade to continue. As you're going to the right, the floor will break and you will fall. It'll take a few steps for the
floor to break, you can safely take a few steps and back to make the floor break without dragging you down. You
wanna do this to get to another Geo rock that's slightly to the left of the breakable floor. If you fail, don't worry, you
can quit the game without losing any progress and reload, but you'll have to start from the beginning (it isn't too far
away, you'd get there in just a few minutes).
To your right is a spiked floor with 3 platforms where you'll have to jump to get to the other side. Once you're in the
middle floating point, spikes will fall from the ceiling.Instead of going up, drop from the last platform to the bottom
right, avoiding the spikes on the ground. Here you'll find what it seems like an unreachable platform, because the
ground is filled with spikes, but if you jump and hit the spikes before you touch them, you will bounce and make it to
the platform. Do this to get to the other side and follow the way down to acquire the Fury of The Fallen Charm. Drop
to the left and this will take you back to the lower level. Make your way back to the 3 platforms and go up this time.
Follow the way right and up, and break the wood to break the ground and continue. The white oval to the right will
explain a bit of the area you're in. You'll have to break the structure to your right in order to continue. You don't take
fall damage in this game, you can safely jump down. Make your way right to get to Dirtmouth.
Confessor Jiji

You'll see the Elderbug as soon as you enter the town. Talk to him and use the Bench to his right to rest. Remember
every Bench you come across, they are your checkpoints and are useful in other ways. After getting a map, resting
on a Bench will update the map with new areas you've discovered. There's a house to the right that you can inspect,
you can't do anything here right now, but later you'll be able to buy accesories for your map. Further ahead is a well
and beyond that well is a dead end with a simple lock. After finding a small bug called Sly in the Forgotten
Crossroads, he will return to his shop back in Dirthmouth where he sells various items, including a simple key for
950 Geo. Take the simple key to the dead end and you'll find Confessor Jiji inside. For a Rancid Egg, Jiji can
summon your Shade to your location. Right now, down the well is the only way forward.

Let's start by exploring this map to the left. There's a path leading down with a new enemy and a Geo rock. This one
will actually attack you, it will charge for a second and try to tackle you. Each hit you land will push it back, so you'll
get a chance to hit it again. It takes 3 hits to kill it. Kill the enemy and grab those Geo. There are two more enemies
to the left, but these two won't attack. Kill them for some Geo and continue left. On this screen you need to go down
all the way. Ignore the enemies for now. As soon as the next screen loads, you'll hear a humming. Follow it and
you'll find Cornifer. You'll find this guy in some more levels and you can buy maps from him. The map is your
biggest ally in this game, for 30 Geo you can purchase one from him, I suggest you do so. After doing this you're
gonna want to go back up to the town. Buying a map from Cornifer will unlock the shop and there's one item in
particular you want to purchase, a Quill, it costs 120 Geo and it lets you update the map with new areas. Kill some
enemies while you're on your way back to the town, make sure to gather 120 Geo before you back to the town for
that Quill, optional but highly recommended is to buy the Wayward Compass, it will pinpoint your position in the map
and costs 220 Geo. After you've done that, go back to where you left off, the big screen above Cornifer. On the top
left exit you'll find a lonely worm (The Grubfather), there's nothing to do here, but you can come back later for some
rewards. You'll often find secret paths in the game that will lead you to rescuing a Grub, that Grub will then go back
to the screen with the Grubfather, and Grubfather will reward you with some Geo. There are few more paths in this
screen, the middle left one is a dead end. You'll encounter a big enemy that's guarding the entrance, but you don't
have what you need to go through here, yet. Exactly below the middle left path is another path. You can walk the to
the edge of the ledge and start moving left as you fall, to get to this second path. Here lies a somewhat difficult path.
You'll encounter two flying enemies and a spiked floor. Further to the left is where things get complicated. There are
spikes on the floor and on the walls and no obvious path. To get to the other side, you have jump and aim down to
hit the spikes on the wall, this will make you bounce and give you an edge to keep going up. It's a bit difficult, but
with some practice you'll get it. One "easy" way to do it is by jumping and pressing your attack button constantly and
move right from the left spikes and vice versa until you get to the top. There are also spikes on the other side, but
you can jump and position yourself in the middle to avoid all the spikes while falling. In the next screen, you'll get a
tip that will tell you, you can aim down to look below. Get to the bottom to a floor that will break and drop you further
down. Make your way to the left and follow all the way up. Midway, you'll find a totem of some sorts that will charge
your Soul meter when you hit it. Continue your way up, once on top, you can go right. There's a piece of the floor
that will break here as well so be on the lookout and jump immediately when you hear the floor breaking. At the end
of the way is a Geo rock. For now, you should avoid going to the right, a boss enemy awaits there and might prove
very difficult without any abilities. Go back to the screen where Cornifer is, from the floor below him drop from the
left side and go left to the next screen.
You'll have to avoid some worms to get to the other side, just wait until they hide and jump. In the next screen you'll
encounter a new flying enemy. It takes 3 hits to defeat it. The best way to beat these is to hit them as fast as you
can, eventually they'll spawn other smaller enemies and if you give them time, they can overwhelm you with
numbers. That said, they shouldn't be too hard to beat. Continue your way left, avoid the spike falling from the
ceiling and rescue the Grub. You can now go back to the Grubfather to claim your reward if you choose to. You can
ignore it for now, seeing as the reward for one Grub is minimal (10 Geo). There's one more path you can explore on
the huge screen above Cornifer; it's the only path to the right, right in the middle. There's a Geo rock above you from
the entrance and a Grub that you can't rescue right now. In the next screen you'll encounter a new enemy, it might
catch you off guard at first, its attack pattern is a bit different than most enemies you've encountered so far; it jumps
and strikes, but that's all it does. Beat these enemies and continue on your way right. Beat the first enemy and jump
to the floating points, look out for a spike dropping from the ceiling on the floating point in the middle. Keep going
right, ignore the path down and make your way up for another Geo rock. There's one more Grub you can rescue,
but it's guarded by a somewhat difficult enemy. Leave this screen to the right of the Geo rock, jump on the floating
point on the next screen, get to the top and leave this screen from the right. The guard will be there.
It might look very hard at first, but just know it has a 3 different attacks. One is a very quick swing of its weapon, the
second is the same as the first, but it'll take a second to charge and swing its weapon, the third attack is the one you
should look out for, it will take a step back and drop on the floor to release a wave that will hit you unless you jump.
Get near it, and wait until it performs the second or third attack, you can then jump briefly after it's done and hit it. It's
best you avoid trying to hit when performing the first attack. Once you're done, go to the end of the way and rescue
the Grub. You can now go back one screen and leave from the bottom to the right, to a new area. You will hear
someone singing a cheerful tone, make your way right and meet Myla, just a regular NPC. On the elevator, you can
make a left on the first path to find a totem that will replenish your health when you hit it. Make your way to the right
to the last screen. This part is just for the sake of exploring the map, there's nothing of interest right now. Go back to
the screen with the Geo rock surrounded by two flying enemies and go down this time. You'll find yourself blocked
by two gates, the area below is where you have to go, but you have to go all the way around it.
On the screen to the right of Cornifer, you'll see a floating point that leads to 3 Geo rocks, and when trying to break
the Geo rock to the right, you'll reveal a new path with another Geo rock. Entering the area below this Geo rock will
trigger an event where you'll have to beat 3 flying enemies to get out of the area. It shouldn't be too hard, but like I
said earlier, don't let these enemies live for too long or they'll overwhelm you with numbers. Leave from the bottom
left to a new area. There's a ledge immediately to your left, but you can't get there, yet. This is a Dash area
(#DashArea1). Dash is an ability that you'll get later in the game, use your browser's search option and type what's
between parantheses to get here, look at the image below for reference. There are 3 Geo rocks on the bottom of
this screen and not much else to do.
Go back one screen and continue your way right. In the screen with the 3 flying enemies, you can leave that screen
from the top right to discover a Hot Spring that will replenish your Soul meter and a Bench. I suggest you go there to
get a Checkpoint, replenish your Soul meter and update the map on the Bench. Once you're done, leave the 3 flying
enemies screen from the bottom right. Immediately below and to your right, there's a Geo rock with an enemy
guarding it. Make your way right, avoid the worms and get to another Geo rock below the exit. You just have to fall
without jumping once the worm is hidden and you'll get there without losing any HP. You should probably beat the
flying enemy first, seeing as it will follow you down and can get tricky to get out of there with that enemy and the
worm. Leave this screen from the right. Here you go 3 ways, up left, there's nothing but two enemies there, then to
your right or up and right. You need to go up if you wanna reach a Geo rock that's below two adjacent worms.
Before going below the worms, go all the way to your right to find another Geo rock. You have to hit it once or twice
when the worm is hidden and step back, so on and so forth. Go back and break the other Geo rock and leave this
screen from the right. Go below the sign to the right, by jumping over the floating points to get to a Geo rock. All the
way down and to the left is a dead end, another one of those cages is there. While trying to leave this screen from
the right, you'll encounter a Soul totem, use it and continue right to the next screen. Make all the way right and you'll
see a sleeping monster called Gruz. This is a boss fight, and a fairly easy one. There's not much to say about it that
you won't immediately notice, it has 3 attack patterns, most often it will bounce up and down from one side to the
other. You can easily hit him once you're on the opposite direction of the attack, it will also spit and smash the
ground. You have to defeat it to continue going right. After you defeat it, hit the right exit and it will explode and
spawn several flying enemies. These mostly roam aimlessly, it shouldn't be too hard to get out of here. Once you're
done, drop down and go to your left. Enter the little hut and meet Sly, you have now unlocked another shop. He will
be in Dirtmouth from now on. All the way right is another dead end, a Dash area (#DashArea2).
To go back up, go left from Sly's hut and break the wood. Make it all the way to the top and leave this screen from
the upper exit. This screen can be a bit difficult, there are 3 of the flying enemies that can spawn other smaller
enemies. You should beat them fast, before they get a chance to spawn too many. There's a Geo rock at the top
and to the right. To reach it, you need to perform a small jump without touching any of the spikes on the floor or the
ceiling. Below the Geo rock, you can leave this screen to the right, it's a dead end for now, but take note of this
location, you will come back later. There's a Geo rock below the door with the open slot, you can't see it from above
but it will be revealed once you get close to it. Leave this screen for now. There are two more exits to the left, ignore
the top exit for now and go through the one below. There will be another set of spikes where you have to bounce by
jumping and aiming down before attacking. At the end, awaits one more Grub you can rescue. Now go back one
screen and take the top exit. Meet a new enemy, the hardest one to beat so far. It will actually block your attacks
with a shield and swing its sword a few times afterwards, hit it once and take a few steps back until it starts
attacking, attack him right after his attack animation is over. Leave the screen from the left. Before you face the
boss, take a minute to go up and hit the lever to unlock another entrance. To the right of the lever is a completely
dark area, you should avoid this place for now, later in the game you'll get an item that will help you navigate this
area. Make sure to fill your Soul meter completely and head to the boss's path. In the first screen you'll encounter a
Husk Guard, which you can avoid by jumping over it and get to the next screen. If you want to fight it, just wait until it
jumps back and sends the shockwave, you safely land one hit before it attacks again, two hits if you wanna risk it.
The next screen is where the boss fight will happen.
Make your way up to start the battle. Refer to the Enemies section for a more in-depth explanation of its pattern.
False Knight
This isn't the hardest boss, you can safely wait until it performs its shockwave attack to jump and land a hit or two.
Sometimes you can get up to 3 hits if you time your attacks right. After a few attacks, you will knock down the False
Knight and it will reveal its head. You can now attack the maggot inside, you have to do this 3 times. After the third
time, it will attack once more and fall down to the floor below where you can finish it off. When the fight's over, it will
drop a City Crest.
Note: You can actually skip this boss after the first knockdown. It will hit the wall above gate to the left, which you
can break to escape the area. You can come back later and beat it once you have more abilities, but I suggest
beating it now, since some areas will be blocked until you beat him, and beating the False Knight is required for
107% completion.
Once you're done, open the chest on the left side of the screen and leave from the exit below the chest.
In the next screen, go all the way up and enter the next area where the pink glow is. Rest on the Bench and talk to
the Snail Shaman NPC to begin a mini quest. She will give you the Vengeful Spirit spell. Kill the Wandering Husk to
your right and continue to the next area by destroying the wood blockade. There's a Vengefly and a Baldur on this
screen, kill them and make your way up. Break the wood, kill the Tiktik and the Baldur on the top. Break the wood to
go down where the Baldur is, kill this and the one below, before of the ceiling on the floor below, it has spikes. The
next area has a floor covered with spikes and two Vengefly, try to kill them by aiming up to avoid being pushed with
each attack. Kill the Baldur to the left and the one below. There's a Soul Totem to your left, use it if you need Soul.
Keep going left and finish off the 3 Baldurs in this area, along the one to the right. There are 2 Geo rocks here and a
blue cocoon that will grant you two temporary health masks. Dropping from the right will take you back to the Soul
Totem, go all the way right and break the wood to go down. In this area you'll find an Elder Baldur, which you might
recognise from that blocked path you stumbled upon, but now with your Vengeful Spirit spell, you can actually
defeat it. It takes 4 spells to defeat it and your Soul meter only lets you cast the spell 3 times, but if you stand far
from the Elder Baldur, it will spit regular Baldurs that you can kill to refill your Soul meter. After you kill it, go left and
inspect the glowing point to grab the Soul Catcher. Break the wood to fall down to where you started and talk to the
Shaman. She will now open the gate. You can rest on the Bench if you want, but it will consume your blue health
masks. Drop from the left side and go all the way down to a lever on the bottom left side, hit the lever and proceed.
This will take you back to Cornifer's screen. Now it's a good opportunity to claim your rewards from the Grubfather.
Now you can go defeat that Elder Baldur. In case you forgot, exit the lonely worm's screen and jump down to exit
the area from the middle left exit.
Go all the way left to the next screen to reach the Greenpath.

Even before reaching the next map, you’ll see how the scenery begins to change past the Elder Baldur. You’ll have
platforms you need to jump across to avoid falling into the pool of boiling acid below. There’ll be a high platform and
a low platform you can jump to, but either one you choose won’t matter as you’ll have to take the low road
regardless. To jump across from the high platform, you need to have the Dash ability. Follow the path from the low
platforms and it’ll take you to the entrance of Greenpath.
As you enter Greenpath, the scenery has completely changed from Forgotten Crossroads. This level with be
noticeably trickier as there are more obstacles to avoid and somewhat tougher enemies to fight.
First thing you're gonna want to do is to get the map from Cornifer. Step outside Cornifer's room, surround it by
going up the platforms and get to the top right side of Cornifer's Room exterior. Looks like a dead end? Well, there's
a hidden path there that you can reveal by jumping and going right. You'll see there's a platform attached to a vine.
Cut it down, return to Cornifer's room and follow the way up to a Grub.
Go all the way left a few screens and use the Bench (the blue icon on the image below) to get a new Checkpoint.
Jump down to the platforms, get the Geo rock to the right and drop down to leave this screen from the right. Kill the
Squit and cut the vine holding the platform to help you jump to the next platform. Cornifer is all the way to the right.
There's another path down. You have to cut the vines from 3 platforms, this will lead you to a Grub that you can
rescue. You will now find yourself on an area with just a few platforms and acid all over the place. There will be a
Squint there that might pose a threat as it can make you fall into the acid. Wait for it to attack first and hopefully it'll
go to the closed path to your right. Follow the platforms above you and you'll see a Geo rock stuck to a wall to your
left, and a Soul totem to your right. You can now go back down and leave the screen from the bottom left exit, but
before you do that, go above the Soul Totem and all the way to the right to get to a dead end, with an optional NPC
that will give you The Hunter's Journal, now go back andleave from the bottom left exit. You'll see the Hornet (this
stage's boss) escape as soon as you enter the screen. Just below you there's a dark path that you can't see unless
you walk through it, and there's an item you can inspect. There's an exit that leads down, leave the this screen and
in the screen leave from the right to find a Bench and update your map. Leave the Bench screen and use the path
immediately below you. This will lead you to a place called The Stone Sanctuary. It is technically still within
Greenpath's territory. It's a dead end, but at the end you'll find a Mask Shard. An item that increases your health
once you find 4 of them and contributes towards the 107% completion rate.
There's nothing else to do here. The path down leads to Fog Canyon, a different area that you can't explore, yet.
You can come back here when you get the Shadow Dash ability, and to go left you need the Dash ability. The only
way is back up (from the Bench go left and up). There's a Geo rock all the way to the bottom left, guarded by a Fool
Eater. Leave the screen from above the Geo rock. Jump to the other side, you'll face a Moss charger here. These
enemies can be a bit annoying seeing as they hide after you hit them once, and you have to hit them twice before it
hides to deal damage to it; it's best to ignore them (this screen is full of them). Make your way left and you'll see the
Hornet escaping once again. You can't get to the path below just yet, just keep going forward. You'll see the Hornet
going up this time. There's a Soul totem directly below you. There's not much you can do to the left right now so
follow the Hornet up. There's a Geo rock a bit to the left. Make your way up and you'll reach the Bench, that is
currently blocked unless you pay some Geo to unlock it. Alternatively, you can go all the way around by going back
to the main screen. In any case, your next objective is to save Zote from the Vengefly King, an optional boss. Note
that you can avoid doing this and you'll get the "Neglect Zote" achievement, but you'll miss an optional if you don't
save him. On your way to the Vengefly King, you'll encounter the Moss Knight, a kinda tricky enemy. He'll block your
attacks with his shield and strike once or twice, and that's your cue to attack him, right after a strike. Note that you
can catch him off guard and jump over him to attack him from above. The first time you do this he won't block your
attack, but he will after you've engaged him. It's not a bad idea to farm this enemy here, it gives 40 Geo and you can
fight it over and over again, just don't go overboard, Geo will be plentiful later in the game.
Vengefly King
Not a very hard boss. It has only one direct attack, it will Dash against you. The other attack is a screech that will
summon regular vengeflies. It will usually attack you once you've failed an attack towards it. Try to wait until it's in
clear range before jumping to attack it. It takes around 18 hits to beat it. Use the spawned Vengeflies to filll your
Soul meter if you're low on health or just to attack it with your Vengeful Spirit. Once you're done with it, drop down to
the next screen from the left. You'll find a Grub guarded by a Moss Knight all the way to the right. Below the Moss
Knight, there's a platform that you can cut down, do this to create a shortcut. This stage's boss is on the left exit, but
before you go encounter it, leave this screen from the exit below the Hornet's path. Down here go left and activate
the Stag Station (#GPSS) and use the Bench to recover health and gain the Checkpoint in case you lose the first
time against the Hornet. When you're ready, to the Hornet's screen. Above the entrance is an area with 2 Moss
Knights and 3 big Geo rocks, you can make up to 300 Geo in this screen alone. When you're ready, go face the
Hornet.
Hornet
The Hornet has 4 attacks. One is a simple strike, the Hornet will dash towards you and hit you with its needle. It can
do the same thing in the air. The third attack is an AoE (area of effect) attack around her. The last one the Hornet
will throw its needle and pull it back.
It can be a bit hard to anticipate whether it's a normal strike or a throw. If you're far away, you wrongly anticipate a
normal strike, and it's a throw, you will be hit. To avoid this stay relatively close to the Hornet, close enough that you
can turn right mid air to drop above the Hornet and attack, but not close where you won't be able to escape its AoE
attack. It's best if you avoid trying to Focus while fighting the Hornet, its attacks are way too fast and will probably hit
you right after you're done Focusing. The only safe time to Focus is when the Hornet is regaining energy after you
hit it a few times. Outside of that, use your Soul to attack it with the Vengeful Spirit spell.
When the battle is over, the Hornet will drop the Mothwing Cloak, aka the Dash ability. Go to your left and make use
of the Dash ability in this area. Get the Geo rock to the right by dashing and make your way down. Make all the way
left where Moss Knight is and enter the building to find the Quirrel. Finding this NPC in several locations throughout
the game will grant you the "Witness" achievement. Now you have to backtrack a little bit to get the Thorns of Agony
Charm.
Go back to the entrance of the Stag Station but go down this time. Hit the level if you haven't and open the path
below, mine the Geo rock to the left and drop down to the next screen. Leave this screen from the right, and go up
on the next screen. You'll have to go through a tricky path here to get to the other side and grab the Thorns of
Agony Charm. Our next destination is the Fungal Wales. We need to pass through the Fog Canyon, first.
Remember we encountered it before? Here's path to it in case you forgot.
Just drop straight and hug the walls to the right. The enemies here are passive and won't go after you, but if you kill
the big one (Ooma), the core will explode and sometimes go in your direction. You will have to pass through one
more screen and you'll make it to Queen's Station.

Once you're there, drop down to the lowest floor and enter the room to your left to activate the Stag Station (if you
travel to Dirtmouth, you'll find Zote right next to the map shop. You'll also find Tiso, a new NPC, left of the well).
From the Queen Station, leave from the top right.
You'll encounter a new enemy, the Fungoon. It spits gas in a linear direction and floats around, not really much to
say about it. It can float up pretty high, though. Jump to the other side and go down from the sign. In the next room
you'll hear Cornifer's usual humming. Get to the bottom and you'll find him on the narrow path to the left. Go back to
the previous screen for now, we'll explore the right side later. From here go to the right, drop to the platform below
the Fungoon and continue to the right. Meet a new enemy, the Fungified Husk. They don't pose much of a threat but
they will explode on death, just as the Volatile Mosskin. Leave this screen from the right. Watch out for the Spores in
this screen, they attack with explosives spores that will follow you and detonate in proximity, not only that, the
explosion will remove 2 Health Masks from you, and it can be quite tricky to fight with 2 of them at the same time,
and there are 3 of them in this screen. You need to make your way up, you'll notice an NPC lying on the ground to
the right, but the entrance is blocked. Continue going up, eventually you'll make it to the upper level. There's an exit
to the right, and a Geo rock above the exit. Use the exit and get to the next screen. You'll encounter a new enemy
here, the Shrumal Warrior. These can be a bit tricky to fight at first without knowing its attack pattern. It'll either jump
and smash the ground in your direction or roll towards you leaving a trail of gas behind it, which will hurt you if you
touch, which makes it a bit tricky to jump over it to avoid the roll. Make sure you hit it to bounce off it and avoid the
gas trail. There are 4 of these in this room. You have to make your way up to the upper level and leave from the left.
Hit the lever to open the gate and go up to face a mini-boss. Make sure to heal and fill your Soul meter before facing
it.
Shrumal Ogre
You'll be facing two of these. They're not hard to beat. Usually one of them will to the other side and leave a splash
on the ground that will last a few seconds and hurt you if you touch it. You'll get a chance to hit it several times, after
that it will smash its head to the ground repeatedly, this is your cue to dash to the other side and hit the other one.
Do this enough and they'll go down eventually. This mini-boss drops a Charm Notch. Leave this screen from the
right.
This screen has a fork, you can go right or up. We're interested in going to the right, but there's a Bench on the way
up and a Vendor NPC, the Leg Eater. He will ask you to pay him 86 Geo to show you "something nice". If you
accept, he will open up the shop for you and sell you 3 different Charms, all of which break upon death. I wouldn't
buy any of these unless you really can spare the Geo. Whatever you do, go to the screen to the right of the fork.
There are two Shrumal Warrior on this screen and not much else to do, continue going right. You'll see a Fungoon
as soon as you enter, take the path below it, watch out for the Sporgs. Once you get to the bottom, you can go right
or left. The path to the right is dead end with nothing but an item to inspect. Take the path to the left. As you go
forward, the ground will tremble and an NPC will appear, Cloth. Cloth is an NPC you'll encounter in several locations
throughout the game, 5, to be exact, including this one. You'll see a Geo rock right above you on the next screen, as
well as some shiny mushrooms. The way you get to that Geo rock is by jumping and hitting the mushrooms, this will
make you bounce. Hit the small one, then with the impulse, hit the second one and Dash to the right to mine that
Geo rock. Now you know how to cross the left side.
Once below, you'll find a wide open room, with several mushrooms you can bounce on. The exit you're looking for is
to the bottom left of the screen. You'll find two Geo rocks just below the platform and 2 Ambloon roaming the area,
kill them and grab the Geo. There are several Sporgs in this screen, but not much else to do, ignore them and take
the exit below you, the middle left one. You have to go up and to the right. You'll find several Funglings along the
way, and on the top you'll see a corridor with bouncing mushrooms on the floor and ceilling, and it's covered by
Funglings. Take a short jump and use your Vengeful Spirit to kill them all in one go. Go to the end of the way and
rescue the Grub. Now go to the left side of the top, kill the 2 Funglings and mine the 2 Geo rocks below. There's a
small dark empty space to the right of the Geo rocks, you can drop from there. Continue left after the fall. There's a
Geo rock below the Ambloon and a lever above. After opening the shortcut, go all the way right, pass the room with
the Grub and you'll be at the wide open screen with the Sporgs. Leave this screen from the bottom right exit. Use
the mushrooms to reach the upper level. You'll meet a new enemy, the Mantis Warrior, wait for it to attack and
dodge it by dashing to the opposite side of the attack, it might be difficult to time at first, but you'll get the hang of it.
Kill it and continue right until you see a flying mantis, the Mantis Youth. Keep going forward, you'll encounter another
Mantis Warrior. Soon you'll see some mushrooms at the corner of the ground and a Mantis Warrior on the other
side. To the right of that Mantis Warrior and 2 Mantis Youth, an item you can inspect and not much else. You can
avoid them by going down and leaving the screen from the left. Make your way down, this will make you go to the
right below you can keep going down. You'll see an exit to the left, but don't go in, yet. Below that exit are 2 Geo
rocks, if you look down, you'll see another Geo rock below the 2. But you have to go all the way around it. Go all the
way to the bottom of the screen and to the right to find a Bench. Use it and exit this screen from the exit above the
Geo rocks. Jump to the platform to the left to get to the other side. Go all the way to the left until you find a lever, hit
it to open the gates above you. Make your way there, climb and get inside to find the Mantis Claw. Use your new
ability to get the Geo rocks in there. The structures to the right hold 2 more Geo rocks and a little puzzle you have to
go through using all your abilities. You can now climb the walls to leave this screen by going up.
In this screen go right all the way and climb the corridor up to get the Wanderer's Journal. Leave the screen from the
top right exit. Backtrack all the way to wide open area and leave that screen from the right.
You need to go right. Near the centre of the screen you'll find a hidden room with a Soul totem if you climb the walls
up. As you make your way through, move the camera down to see where the levers are, there are 2 levers you can
hit to raise the bridges so you don't have to do this again. If you find yourself losing too much HP, just backtrack and
use the Soul totems or kill enemies to gain Soul and recover health. Soul totems recharge after you leave the
screen. Insert the City Crest on the knight statue and proceed. As you make your way through, the gates will lower
and you'll be locked. Climb the walls up to to find a Geo rock, and go right to leave this screen.

You will meet some new enemies in this area. The Husk Sentry and the Belfly. The Husk Sentry will attack with one
single swing of its sword and sometimes a combo, with two following attacks. Whereas the Belfly will simply fly
towards you and kamikaze against you, basically. Abuse the Dash ability and attack the Husk Sentry from above
when possible, for the Belfly, just avoid them and let it kill itself. Make it all the way right until you can start going
down. Keep going down in the next screen and use the elevator. It will descend ignoring a path to the right that
contains an item you can inspect and nothing else. The elevator has spikes on the roof, so you have to descend in
it. Use the Bench to the right of the elevator and talk to the Quirrel. Take the path down and kill the Husk Sentry on
the next screen. Below it is a chest that contains Geo. Use the elevator and take the left path. In this screen make it
all the way to the left and up to the right to find the Nailsmith. Talk to him and he'll offer to upgrade your Nail for 250
Geo. This is a no-brainer, just do it. Go back to the elevator and use it, but don't go all the way up, jump to the
platform to the right and kill your first Winged Sentry. Keep jumping from platform to another, going up to find the
Hallownest Seal. Now go right and leave the screen from top right exit. You'll see a Heavy Sentry right off the bat.
It's a narrow space so your reaction might be to jump over it, but it can jump and attack so wait for it to attack first
until you get the hang of its attacks. Use the elevator to your right and go up to find a Rancid Egg and the Geo
chest. Take the path down when you're ready. In this screen, go to the dark side on the right to find Relic Seeker
Lemm. You can sell the Wanderer's Journal and Hallownest Seal to him for some Geo. To the left side of this
screen there's a lever, use it and grab the Geo from the chest. Go back to where you found the Rancid Egg, take
the elevator and take the first left and then all the way up. Climb your way up and make a right, kill the Winged
Sentry, use the lever and drop down to the next screen. Use the lever here as well, go to the right, jump on the
platforms and leave the screen from the top exit. Use the elevator and on the first stop you'll find a Winged Sentry
and a Grub. If you step foot on the room to the left, the gates will close, a Heavy Sentry will spawn, when you defeat
it, a Winged and Husk Sentry will spawn, too. After the fight, the gates will open up again. Make your way up and
you'll start hearing Cornifer's usual humming. If you pay 150 Geo on the machine left of Cornifer, a Bench will
appear on that spot. Leave this screen from the left. You'll find Zote on this screen a bit to the left, keep going left to
the next screen. In this wide open area there are several "hidden" rooms to the right. The top right one contains a
Simple Key. Use the lever on the bottom left to open a shortcut to the entrance of the City of Tears. After that you
can just leave this screen from the top left. Here go left, grab the Wanderer's Journal lying on the ground and go
back right to go over the spiked roof towards the exit to the right. Use the Bench and unlock the Stag Station. Leave
this screen and go all the way left. You'll see a machine, pay 150 Geo to call the elevator, use it.
Go left all the way through the corridors and grab the Vessel Fragment. We're gonna explore some parts we left out
from this map and use the new abilities to get to some areas. You can skip to Crystal Peaks if you're not interested
on the optional stuff. You should see a Bench on the bottom right part of the map. We couldn't get to it before
because we didn't have the Dash ability, but we can do that now.
Enter the little hut and meet Salubra. She's a vendor and has several Charms and Notches you can buy. You can
buy Notches from her, but there's a catch. To buy a second Notch you need to own 10 Charms, 18 for the third, and
25 for the fourth. Consider buying a Charm or two, I recommend the Long Nail and Steady Body Charms. Make sure
to have at least 1800 Geo, you'll need that later. Next stop is a Mask Shard on a wall we couldn't reach before.
From the left entrance of this screen, go a bit to the right and climb a wall that will lead you through a series of small
corridors and finally to the Mask Shard. Break the scaffolding to exit this area. Since we're close, visit the Grubfather
for some Geo and another Mask Shard, but first, there's a Grub we can now rescue.
Go back to Dirtmouth and buy a Lumafly Latern from Sly. Next stop is the path to Crystal Peak. It's a room that was
previously completely dark, but which you can travel easily now thanks to the Lumafly Latern.
Once there, pay the Geo to open the gate. Go below, kill the new enemies (Glimback), they don't do much other
than going back and forth, but you can only hurt them from the front. Mine the 2 Geo rocks to the left, then go right
mine the Geo rock and break the scaffolding to continue.

You'll have to make your way to the right, passing through some conveyor belts to get to the other side. Check the
direction they're going before jumping straight into it, seeing as you can fall to death. Once you pass the conveyor
belts, you'll get to a mining site filled with Husk Miner, a new enemy. There's a Bench on the next screen leaving
from the bottom right side. Use it and go back to the mining site screen, this time go up. Take the left on this screen
and make your way up. There's a little bit of a challenge here that involves climbing the vertical conveyor belts
without touching the spikes on the walls. Not much strategy needed here, just make sure to Dash through horizontal
paths once near the end of the conveyor belts. A grub awaits at the end. Open the gate and go up to the next
screen. You'll have to pass this screen without being touched by the lasers emitted from the crystal creatures. Make
your way up and towards the exit to the right. There's another Grub here and a fairly easy challenge. Note that the
crushers smash at different speeds, besides that there's not much to it. Rescue the Grub, open the gate down and
go back to the previous screen. Pass the laser room and leave the screen from the top left exit. Get the map from
Cornifer and go back to the previous screen. Use the upper exit this time. Go through the side with the 2 lasers and
get to the right side, climb this wall all the way up and grab the Shopkeeper's Key. Use the exit below. A new boss
awaits here.
Crystal Guardian
This boss uses 2 different attacks and sometimes (most times, really) combines two. One is a sky attack that fires 3
lasers vertically and the other is a horizontal laser that the boss itself fires. You have two ways of dealing damage in
between attacks. First, you jump and dash to the back of the Crystal Guardian and safely attack it from behind, the
other one is to simply attack it from the front when the sky beams allow you to. If you're caught up in an air attack,
simply attack it from above. This won't deal damage, but it'll allow you to bounce off of it to the other side. You can
do this instead of dashing in mid air, but both ways work. Once you've dealth enough damage, grab the Geo, use
the Bench. You're gonna want to fight this boss twice for a Mask Shard, if you follow it up, you'll be able to fight it
again. Once it's down, go left and claim the Mask Shard.
Go back to the previous room, jump to the left side and go up to leave this screen. Make your way to the upper left
side and talk to the Quirrel and leave this screen from the right. Keep going right until you can drop down, hug the
right wall and use the first path to the right. There's a Geo crystal there guarded by the laser creatures, and if you go
all the way around it to the upper left side, you can pick up a Wanderer's Journal. Keep going down, hit the lever, go
through the newly opened path and use the lever below. If you go left from here, you'll go back to the Crystal
Guardian's room, since this part isn't in the map, you can use the bench there and then come back to this room.
Whatever you do, go back up to first lever you hit and go down from the right. Make it all the way down, once on the
bottom, go left and hit the lever. Explore the left side now that you can, use the Soul totem if you need it, and leave
this screen from the bottom right when you're ready. This room has several trap platforms. You have to jump
platform to platform until you see a path above. There's a vertical conveyor belt you need to use to get to the top.
There's a Soul totem to the left and a laser path to the right, avoid the beams and go right. Once again, you'll have
to cross to the right by jumping on the platforms. You'll find a Soul Totem at the end of the way and a path down.
Follow the path down and to the right. Inspect the element to consume the Crystal Heart. This is the Super Dash
ability, this will allow you to do a massive dash, taking you all the way horizontally. Try it now seeing as the bridge is
destroyed and cross to the other side. Do it again on the left side. This will lead you straight to a Geo crystal. You
can now rescue the Grub on this screen. Jump over the Geo crystal and before you leave the screen, climb the wall
and Super Dash to the right side to rescue the Grub. Leave from the left. Pass the crushers and leave from the left
again. Here, go left and drop to where the Husk Miner is. Kill it and hit the fake wall it was mining. Super Dash here
to reach the wall and slide up to the other side. You'll have to Super Dash once again, but be careful of the lasers.
Once you make it to the end, use the left exit. Go left and drop down, inspect the element to obtain the Deep Focus
Charm. Go back to the previous room and use the conveyor belt to go back. Immediately go up and all the way
around to leave from the upper left exit. You'll have to Super Dash a few times here, do it until you reach a path
down. Kill the 2 Crystal Hunters and get to the bottom right to what it seems to be a Grub, but it's actually a 'Grub
Mimic'. Upon destroying the container, it will go berserk and attack you. Kill it for a Hunter's Journal entry and go
back to the previous room. Leave from the left and hit the lever to unlock this path. You have to backtrack now and
take the exit to Resting Grounds. Quit the game to main menu if you used the bench, for a shortcut. There's one last
Grub we can rescue before leaving, it's on a room we haven't explored, yet.
Go down to the conveyor belt part and you'll see a room to the left with a Geo Crystal and some Husk Miners. You
have to go below it and make your way up to get to it. You can then hit the lever and keep going down, but get the
Geo Crystal that is further down in this room before doing that. Now go all the way down, follow and pass through all
the crushers to get to that Chest you saw earlier. Pass through the crushers again and drop down to find the last
Grub. Drop down this room and follow the image below to Resting Grounds.
Resting Grounds
After that, head all the way to the right and drop down to where Relic Seeker Lemm is. Here you can sell anymore
collectibles you might have found since last being in the city for some extra Geo. After that, head down a little more
and there will be a stand with an open slot where you can put the Simple Key you found in, this will unlock the

Let's go left and find Cornifer to get a map of the area. The first enemy you'll see are the Pilflips. They go from one

by a Belfly on the upper left side. Drop down one level from the left and go left to another room. Go down, notice the
shaky floor and continue left. You'll encounter a new enemy, the Hwurmp. After attacking it, they will inflate and
become much bigger, but they don't do much. Reach the upper left level, drop down and meet one funny enemy,
the Flukemon. After a few attacks, one of its parts will become a flying enemy and after beating that one, the tail will
attack you as well. Continue left to the next screen. Drop down (the water doesn't hurt) and follow the way up on the
part by climbing the wall. Go all the way left until you meet a fork, there's a Rancid Egg you can pick up on the top
right side, and a Soul Totem all the way to the left. The only way left is down. Cornifer is to the left. Defeat the
Hwurmps to unlock the gate and get the map from Cornifer. Make sure to hit the lever to unlock the path to the
bottom left. This takes you to an unexplored part of the Fungal Wastes. We'll take a little detour here. Once in the

with spikes on the wall and might take you a few tries to make it. Once you get there, meet Bretta. You can now go
back to Royal Waterways. Leave Cornifer's screen from the right and drop into the water on the next screen, then
go left grab the Geo chest above, drop into the water and go all the way left to find a Mask Shard. Leave this screen
from the bottom right. You'll hear a pumping sound on this screen, it's a Rancid Egg directly above you. Use the
platforms to reveal the dark path. Keep going right until you hit a wall. There's a hidden room to the right, you'll hear
a Grub's cry nearby. Break the wall to reveal the path and rescue the Grub. Use your map, check the image below
and go all the way right to find Tuk. (You'll have to break a wall right next to a Geo Chest to get there).
Tuk will sell you Rancid Eggs. Exit Tuk's screen and leave the one from the bottom exit (right below the entrance to
Royal Waterways). Get to the bottom and then go left. You'll reach a room with a shaky floor, climb the wall to the
left and it'll reveal a hidden path. Rest on the Bench and break the scaffolding. Go right all the way to the other side
to find a Rancid Egg. Now go left and drop down, then go right all the way. Near the end of the screen, you'll hear a
voice, follow the voice up to the next screen. The path here is straight-forward. Prepare for a boss battle.
Dung Defender
Usually attacks by throwing dirt balls that bounce on the screen, and then he goes underground while the balls
bounce. You can hit the balls to get them out of your way, but they take a few hits to destroy. The Vengeful Spirit will
usually destroy them in one hit, but it's very situational, you might get hit while casting the spell. Look out for when it
starts throwing the balls, you can usually land 5 or 6 hits while it's doing this. After a few hits it'll fall and stay on the
ground for a limited time, you can hit it, but only once, I recommend you Focus while it's on the ground instead and
land a hit if you're full health. After falling twice or thrice, it'll shout and start doing a different attack. It'll be constantly
underground and jumping from underground, while creating 4 dirt balls. The easiest way to hit it while it's performing
this attack is to wait for it to start dropping back underground. After defeating it, it will drop a Defender's Crest, pick it
up and go wait for the gates to open. Go right and hit the pump switch. Break the scaffolding to open up a path. Now
you have to backtrack a few screens and go down like the image below.
Go all the way left, go down the platforms and head right. You have to use Super Dash here, don't stop, you still
have to pass in between the spikes on the next screen. Stop before the wall stops you. Slide down the left all and
Super Dash to the right side, then slide up. There's a Rancid Egg on the upper left side. Go right and all the way up.
There will be an element X you can inspect at the top. Drop down and leave the screen to the right. Climb the walls
up and go all the way right, then down. You'll get to a wide open area where you'll be locked until you defeal all the
enemies there. Leave that screen from the right and go all the way down until you reach Isma's Grove. Once in
Isma's Grove, go all the way right and inspect the item on the floor. You'll consume Isma's Tear, this will you allow
you to swim through acid. Try your new ability by dropping down to the acid and swimming all the way to the right.
Climb the walls and rescue the Grub. Keep climbing up and go left all the way, then drop down and leave from the
left. You'll backtrack to "element X". From there follow the way left. You'll eventually get to a dead end and a path

very difficult enemy. It covers with its shield and leaves a narrow window to attack it. Avoid them whenever you can.
Once you get to the second platform get inside the building. Kill the enemies there and get through the fake wall on
the right (you have to do a small jump to reveal it) and kill the Gorgeous Husk, an enemy that will drop a lot of Geo
(around 400). There's a Grub in the building on the bottom right platform, but it's guarded by a Great Husk Sentry.
You might wanna get to the Bench first.
Once you're done, leave the building. Jump to the platform to the right, jump to the right once again and leave from
that exit. You'll see 2 platforms to your right, jump down to the one below and then down to the right side below your
platform. Use the Bench, and activate the Stag Station. If you haven't go get that Grub, if you have, use the Stag
and travel to City Storerooms. This will take you back to the left side of the map.
Leave the Stag Station and the next screen take the path down. Leave this screen from the bottom right. Keep

Another mini-boss, shouldn't be too hard. It will thrust forward with its sword and teleport. If you hit it while jumping,
it will teleport and thrust back again immediately. You can take advantage of that clear pattern and hit it again.
Sometimes it will fire orbs at you that will follow you (barely). Travel all the way towards the top left side of this room
and leave the screen.
Use the elevator on the right side and make it all the way to the top left side then leave the screen.Ignore the path

reveal a hidden path. Kill all the enemies and reveal another hidden path to the right to find the Spell Twister Charm.
Soul Master
This boss, unlike the other two, makes excessive use of the orbs. It will teleport constantly so you have to be quick
and use the dash if you're far, to hit it. Sometimes it will charge against you, from one end of the screen to the other.
You have to jump and dash to avoid it. Whenever it teleports, you'll have a small window to dash and get near it;
most of the times you'll have to do this in order to hit it. After landing a few hits, it will take a moment to recover, you
can only hit it once on this state, so I suggest you Focus once and hit it. Finally, it will fly high and smash the ground,
creating two waves going on opposite directions. Once you've dealt enough damage, it will leave a trail, when you
try to grab it it will smash the ground and take you to a level down.
Immediately, it will start smashing the ground repeatedly. After a while it will focus and orbs will form all over the
room. Look out for this attack as it is when you can deal the most damage. You can land several hits while he's
focusing. This part won't take long if you take advantage of its focus moments. Once it's down, consume the
Desolated Dive and read the instructions. Leave the screen from the left. Go all the way to the top left side, use the
Soul Totem if you need it and grab the Geo Chest. Now you can finally break those patches of shaky floor you've
encountered before. Backtrack a little and find the shaky white ground. Use Desolated Dive to break the white floor.
Defeat the enemies and hit the lever. Use Desolated Dive once again. Get on the first platform and inspect the item
to obtain a Hallownest Seal. Go back to the now broken patch of floor, use the Soul Totem to the left and break the
floor besides it. There's a Grub there, but the dive will lead you straight down. Go all the way right and climb up. Hit
the lever and climb back up to get to the Soul Totem and then to that Grub you missed. Leave from the top right exit.
Go right, use the Soul Totem and get to the next screen. Dive and destroy the floor here, it will take you to where
you fought the Soul Warrior. There's one last thing you can do here. Remember that Elegant Key we got from Sly?
Now is the time to use it. Look at the image below.
Get there and use the Elegant Key on the locked door. You'll have to fight a few enemies and the Shade Soul will be
yours. This is an upgrade for your Vengeful Spirit spell.
Now you have to make it to the Fungal Wastes exit. Look at the image below.
You'll be back on Fungal Wastes, but now we can climb that narrow path and Dive to open a shortcut. As soon as
you enter this screen, climb the walls up and get all the way to the end. Spot the shaky floor and Dive into it.
Mantis
Mark of Pride Hallownest Seal
Lords
Mantis Lords
One mantis will jump and fight you first. It will do 1 of 3 attacks and then jump out of sight for a second, then attack
again. The first attack is a simple swing of the spear forward that will travel the whole level. Sometimes it will appear
above you and drop straight down with its spear. The last attack is a spinning spear that travels like a boomerang.
Wait for it to attack (dash towards the Mantis Lord if you're far) and attack the Mantis Lord. The intervals between
attacks will become faster as you hit the Mantis Lord.
The second challenge will be against the 2 remaining Mantis Lord. They will attack at once or very quick after the
other. The double spinning spears is the hardest attack to dodge and attack, I suggest you simply dodge this attack
and wait for the other 2 to attack them. They won't go down at once, but chances are that when one of them is out,
the other's missing a single hit to be dealt with. After the fight, you'll get the achievement 'Respect' and the gates will
open. Take a look at your map and head towards the top-right exit.
You'll notice that the Mantis guarding the lever won't attack you and bow before you. Go right into the next building
and hit the chest above you to get the Mark of Pride Charm. There's another chest above this one that contains a
Hallownest Seal. Drop from the right and notice that path sligthly below this level to the right, it's a hidden path with
a Geo Chest. There's one last hidden path below with a Bench, use it, go back to the Mantis Lords area and leave
from the left, towards Deepnest.

Go left until you find an opening that goes up. There's a Geo box to the right and on the top left corner is Cornifer.
Buy a map from him and continue left. Avoid touching the spykes and go up when you're at the other side. On the
opening to the left is a Geo chest, and there's another one to the right. Go up and leave the screen. You'll see
worms passing by to your right, that path leads to 2 Geo boxes. Follow the path left and up. You'll meet your first
new enemy, the Dirtcarver. It moves fast, but it isn't much of a threat. There's a Geo box below you, take it and
continue left. Avoid the worms and the spikes, and meet a new enemy. There's a fake floor here that will lead you to
another Geo box. You wanna take the path up to circle it up and left to the bottom-left exit. Leave this screen from
the bottom exit. The path to the right is a dead end; go left and down all the way to a fake floor. Follow the worm to
the right and take this path to the end. One of the fake floors will make you fall to a hot spring with a Bench. Use the
Bench and leave from the left. Jump on the platform, then to the left and Super Dash to the right. This will take you
to a fake wall, break it and leave from the left. Rescue the Grub, and climb the wall to the little opening on the left.
There's another fake wall here. Follow it all the way to the end and break the fake wall here. Follow your clone (yep,
there's another one of you here.
This part can be a bit difficult to explain and it's certainly confusing, but know that you have to leave from the bottom
right. Go right and blockades will appear behind you as you go along. Prepare for a boss fight, and when you're
ready go right to meet Nosk.
Nosk
First, it will charge against you forward and back. When it's back it will shoot orange blobs from its core that will stick
to the ground for a few seconds and damage the knight. You want to jump and dash over it before the charge is
over. More often than not, it will try to start firing those blobs when it's near the knight. Sometimes it will jump and
rain blobs all over the place. The easiest way to avoid it is to wait for the last blob and dash to the opposite direction.
Nosk is quite fast and usually wanders the whole area, which makes it hard to heal. The easiest way I found was to
wait for the blob rain attack and run towards the end of the screen, hugging the locked path and heal, but even this
way can be tricky as Nosk will drop straight on you if you're not quick. Besides this, there's no real strategy as the
layout of the screen doesn't allow for much. Get used to its attacks, the charge specifically, seeing as it is the most
common attack, and if you wanna play it safe, wait for the eruption attack to counterattack.
When you're done, continue right and pick up the Pale Ore. Leave the screen from the left. Leave this screen from
the top right. Super Dash to the right side and follow the way up. Get to the top left side of this screen, you'll see a
Grub slightly to the left, but the floor and walls are covered with spikes. Super Dash to the left and climb up to
rescue the Grub. Slide down and Super Dash back. Follow the way right, get the Geo box to the right and leave the
screen up. Ignore Zote (for now) and take the path up. Take the top left path that will lead you to the NPC Cloth and
a Bench. Drop down and follow the way right to a fake floor, and go back to the Bench room. It doesn't look like it,
but there's actually another path to the left. Take it. This leads you to the Failed Tramway. Meet a new enemy, the
Carver Hatcher. It will spawn Dirtcarvers, but goes down pretty quickly. Follow this path all the way left to an
abandoned building; you can enter it from the top left side by dropping down, and backtrack to where you saw Zote
to save him and go back to the the first Bench, the one on the bottom of the map. You'll see the Quirrel once again.
Leave the screen from the right. You'll have to follow the worm's path to the bottom right side and leave the screen.
Inspect the element and insert the Tram Pass. Enter the building, use the Bench and take the Tram to Ancient
Basin.

purchase a map. Go back to the Tramway room and drop down from the bottom left this time. You'll hear a Grub's
cry as soon as you enter the screen. Go left a litttle bit and drop down. Here's a fake floor, use your Dive ability to go
down. Make it all the way to the top left side and kill the enemies there. After you're done with the enemies, the
Cloth will show up. Go right and drop down this time, follow the way left where the Lesser Mawleks are. Inspect the
element and pick up the Pale Ore. Drop down to your left and follow the way right. Watch out for the 2 Belfly on this
part. You can jump and use your Shade Soul ability to kill them both. There will be another one to your right, where
the higher terrain is, and one more near the scaffolding. Go back to the Tramway room and drop down the lit hole to
the screen where Cornifer was, but go to the bottom left side and leave from there. Use the Toll Machine to spawn a
Bench if you want (for 150 Geo) and Super Dash to your left. You can stop midway for a Geo rock. Leave the
screen from the left. Fall down the first hole, grab the Geo rock to your left and fall down the hole.
You'll meet a new enemy here, the Mawlurk. It stays still and spits orange blobs constantly, if you stay close to it
and hit it, the blobs won't reach you. Go right and slide down the left wall to avoid the spikes on the floor. Keep
going forward, eventually you'll see a Mawlurk on the ceiling. It can be tricky to kill it so I suggest you ignore it.
There will be another Mawlurk a bit to your left, and another one on the ceiling a little further left. Ignore that one and
drop down the hole then go right. Pass through the big worm to a hidden path to get a Simple Key. Then follow the
way left and up, it's a straight forward path that leads to another screen. Follow this path to the top left and break the
scaffolding for a shortcut. Collect soul and prepare for a boss fight to your left. Read the strategy below before
entering combat, you might wanna change your Charms.
Broken Vessel
This boss has several attacks and many of them are quick enough to catch you off guard. This makes it very difficult
to heal as well. Consider bringing Quick Focus Charm for that. Mark of Pride and Longnail will go a long way on this
fight as well. The attack you need to watch out for is when it starts spawning blobs. This will float about on the room
and can overwhelm you with numbers. Attack the Broken Vessel once and start getting rid of the blobs, seeing as
they won't let you dodge the Broken Vessel's slash. An easy way to attack it while it's spawning blobs without taking
damage is with your Desolate Dive ability.
Leave the screen from the left and follow it to the end to pick up the Monarch Wings. Time to try out your new ability,
look at the image below and follow the path to a room with a Grub that will require you to make use of all your
abilities.
If you can't figure out how to get there, check the video below.

We're taking a little detour to Royal Waterways. Leave this screen from the top as well. Swim a little to the left until
you see an opening above you. Use double jump to get there, rescue the Grub, and go all the way right to a fake

Break the wall and defeat the enemies. Follow the way right to another screen, and make it all the way to the bottom
left and leave the screen. Go all the way left to get the Bench out of the honey. Make it to the right end, grab the
Geo rock and the Essence tree. Make it all the way up and to the left to leave the screen. Leave from the top, hit the
Geo rock to your right, then go all the way up and to the left for some more Geo, then go right to leave the screen.
There's a grub right in top-middle side of the screen and can be a little tricky to get there, you have to Super Dash
and double jump mid dash to get there. There's a video below if you wanna see how to get there.
Get to the bottom of this room and notice the "breakable" wall to the left and the Mask Shark. The only way to break
these walls is lure the Hive Guardian/s (the bouncing bees) and make it smash against the wall. Leave from the left
of the Mask Shard and break the scaffolding. We're now heading towards a boss so make sure to fill your Soul
meter. Go back to the bouncing bees room and leave from the left.
Hive Knight
As soon as the room is locked, the Hive Knight will perform the first attack before showing up. Bees will fly down
towards you, and even though you can hit them (and fill your Soul meter) they cannot be killed. The second attack
you'll probably see is a simple, albeit fast thrust forward with its spear. Do what you always do with this kind of
attack and jump over it, dash if necessary and attack it either from above or behind. After every attack it will quickly
teleport out of sight and attack again. Healing should be easy with this boss, as after a few hits, the Hive Knight will
be vulnerable for a few seconds, during which you can Focus and attack him once if you do it fast enough. When
the battle's over, follow the way right and grab the Hiveblood Charm, then leave from where you came from.
Go back to where you found the Mask Shard and leave from the left. Follow the bottom left path, break the wall and
leave from the left. Break the scaffolding and take the platforms up to leave the screen. There's a Soul Totem to
your right, use if you need it and take the path up then to the right. You will reach a scaffolding and a fake floor.
Break the scaffolding then dive. This will lead you to a Grub, rescue it and go back to the scaffolding you broke and
go through.
Climb up a little bit, staying close to the left wall and you'll start hearing Cornifer's humming. Buy a map from him
and leave the screen from the bottom right. Look at the map and head to the Bench. Enter the building and talk to
Nailmaster Oro, he will ask 800 Geo in exchange for teaching you a new skill. Pay the 800 to learn the Dash Slash.
There's a fake floor right near the end of the screen, dive a few times until you get to a room full of spikes. Head
right and rescue the Grub at the end. This is optional, but there's a fake wall below the Grub that leads to several
fake floors and a big Geo rock (420 Geo). Head to the left from here, pass all the spikes and leave from the bottom
left exit. Follow the way up and stop halfway to go right to pick up the Quick Slash Charm.
Leave the area from the top left exit. Break the scaffolding, follow the way to the top left side, hit the Geo rock and
take the path up. Take a left here to the end, take platforms leading up, and go towards the top right exit, but dive
into the fake floor to the right side. This will lead you back down, but jump back from the platform you're on and
notice the narrow path to the right and the glowing object. Inspect it and get a Wanderer's Journal. You can now
leave the screen from the top exit. Take a right, break the fake wall and follow the way up to another Grub. Go all
the way up to the top right side of the screen and instead leaving the screen from the right, go left and break the
fake ceiling. Pick up the Wanderer's Journal and use the Bench. Follow the path on the image below to get to a new
NPC.
Talk to Bardoon and leave this screen from the middle-left exit. Drop down to the bottom right side of this screen
and hit the Essence tree with your Dream Nail to collect the Essence. Be careful not to fall down the hole, it will you
back down a few screens and you'll have to go all the way around it and start over if you fall. After collecting all the
Essence, make your way towards the top left exit and leave the screen. Go all the way left and take the path up.
Break the scaffolding to the left and then go all the way right. Here lies the Colosseum of Fools. If you saved Zote
you'll see him trapped in a cage here. To his right is a Bench that you should use. To the right of the Bench is a fake
wall that you can destroy to reveal a Hot Spring. If you talk to the NPC at the entrance, it will ask you if you want to
contribute to take the Trials. The first one is very rewarding, seeing as it will reward a Charm Notch. I personally did
it the first time, but be advised that it can be a bit long and difficult at times. Check out the image below and make
your way to the City of Tears.
Drop down and get to the bottom right side of the screen, hit the lever and drop the hole. Jump over the platform to
your left and go slightly to find a Grub. Then go back to King's Station by the swimming to bottom right side of the
screen (there's a hidden path), use the Bench and take Stagway the Queen's Station.

The Grub is on the top left side of the screen. Get there by using the bouncing mushrooms. The Charm is on the

All the way left leads to a dead end with infected bushes that you can inspect. When going back the floor will fall and
leave a huge hole, taking you down with it. From the bottom, go left and make it to the top, then Super Dash to the
right side and take the exit below. There's a fake wall on the middle right side of the screen, a bit above the giant

Uumuu
Uumuu only has 2 different attacks and each of them include spawning a burst of lightning on the screen. One of the
attack will randomly spawn bursts of lightning all over the screen and the other one will spawn in your position.
Despite only having 2 attacks, Uumuu can be a bit of a challenge. There's very little time to Focus, which makes
Quick Focus a must in this battle. Not only that, Uumuu is invulnerable most of the times, except for when the
Quirrel randomly shows up and attacks Uumuu. This will leave Uumuu vulnerable to your attacks. This means that
you won't be landing many hits and thus, not gathering soul. To counteract this, equip the Grubsong Charm.
After the fight, explore the rest of the place. Get to the tank full of lightning for a new entry on your Hunter's Journal

the Quirrel will show up after you inspect the tank. After the scene, use the Dream Nail on the spirit in the tank.
Once inside the dream world, hit the spirit several times and Focus to get the 'Teacher Achievement'. Leave the

You've been here before to pick up a Mask Shard, during our first time in the Greenpath. All that's left to do here is
to challenge the No Eyes grave. Use your Dream Nail on the spirit.
No Eyes
You'll see several white spirits roaming around the room. They won't directly follow you, but they'll go out of their
way a little bit if you're near the spirits. The boss will teleport after staying on the same spot for a few seconds. This
fight shouldn't be too hard, you'll only be dealing with contact damage from the roaming spirits. If you're struggling,
just go to the bottom middle and Focus there, the spirits won't touch you that low. The more you hit the No Eyes, the
more spirits will spawn and the faster it'll teleport. Just keep hitting it and going down to Focus and you'll be done

Go back to the first screen and drop down to Fog Canyon. Leave the first screen through the bottom right exit and

dash and use your wings for a final push up the ledge. Head towards the Colosseum of Fools.
Once in the Colosseum, you have to complete the first 2 trials, Trial of The Warrior and Trial of The Conqueror.
Oblobble
You'll fight 2 of them. They have 1 main attack with which they spit acid and's all they do. One thing you should
know is that when you kill the first one, they other one will go nuclear and heal and boost it's HP, meaning you have
to focus your attack on one of them, seeing as the other one will recover its health anyway.
Once you're done, pick the Geo,Pale Ore and make your way to the Bench in the image below.
Prepare for a boss fight on the Bench, and leave then go all the way right.Leave the next screen from the right as

This time the Hornet will use the same attacks, but the intervals between attacks will be faster, she also has a few
new attacks. One of them is a counterattack when you attack her from above. The other one are 3 threads that will
hurt you on contact and which you can attack to remove, and you should make sure to do so, if you let her, she'll fill
the screen with them. Once again, your time to heal is when she's vulnerable after a few attacks. Focus once if you
need it, and then attack her.
Continue to your right to drop down a level and leave the screen from the bottom left, into the Cast-Off Shell. Go all
the way left and pick the King's Brand. After the scene, check out your map and get to the bottom exit to City of
Tears, but before you leave, climb the wall all the way up to the scaffoldings and break them for a Wanderer's
Journal. Take the exit, use the hidden shortcut from the bottom left (you have to swim). Once in City of Tears, take
the bottom path to Ancien Basin
Lifeblood
Arcane Egg x2
Core
Abyss Shriek
Shade Cloak
A little detour first. Take the first exit to the left towards Royal Waterways. Pass through the Dung's Defender room.
You can actually talk to him this time, and go to the only Bench you should be seeing. Prepare for a boss fight once
you get there. Go below the Bench and Dive into the fake floor. Go all the way to the bottom right side until you hit a
dead end and start going left to leave from the bottom left side of the screen. You should stumble upon a fake wall,
this will lead you to a large river. Keep going left until you see a giant bug hanging on the center of the room and hit
it to begin the boss fight.
Flukemarm
The only attack it uses it spitting Flukefeys (2 at a time). They stack, so make sure to kill them as soon as you can or
you'll have a screen full of them. You should be able to kill them with one hit with your upgraded Nail, but if you're
not killing them with one hit, consider using the Fragile Strength charm you bought from the Leg Eater. Staying on
the ground and ocassionally jumping on the first platform to the right is a good position for this boss, but don't stay
on that platform for too long because it'll spit the Flukefeys your way and you won't have time to dodge them while
standing there.
When the fight's over, pick up the Flukenest Charm from the top left platform. Now backtrack all the way to the
bottom towards Ancient Basin. You can find an Essence tree on the bottom right side of the huge vertical screen (in
a hidden path). Go left of the huge vertical screen. As soon as you enter you can pick a Wanderer's Journal from the
bottom right. Leave the screen from bottom left into Ancient Basin.
Use the Bench at the Tram and equip Fragile Heart, Joni's Blessing and Lifeblood Heart. You have to have 15 blue
masks when you get to the next objective, that means you don't have to lose any health. Go down from the lit hole.
Leave this screen from the bottom as well. Inspect the element and continue left. Find the Lifeblood door by falling
down towards the middle left side of the screen. If you have 15 Lifeblood masks. the door will open.
The place will be covered in spikes; you have to get to the bottom right side to pick up the Lifeblood Core Charm,
but first, go below the Charm to pick up the Arcane Egg, you can miss this item permanently though it doesn't count
towards completion. Once you pick up the Charm, you'll be back at the entrance. Drop to the bottom of the Abyss
and go left all the way. Step on the platform and use Howling Wraiths (Focus/Quick Cast while holding up) and get
the Abyss Shriek. Leave the screen and from the bottom of the Abyss, go right. Go right once again and climb the
platforms to the top of the building, then get inside. Hit the lever to turn the lights on and drop down to the bottom
then go right with a Super Dash. Get to the end all the way right and get the Shade Cloak, backtrack and pick up the
second Arcane Egg. Take a few more steps left and you'll see an opening leading up, follow it to a hidden path. Use
the Shade Cloak to pass through the black gate, inspect the structure to the left to add a new entry to the journal
and climb up the top of the Abyss then talk to the Hornet and go back to the Tram. You can remove the Charms now
if you want. Take the Tram to Deepnest.

Take the Tram to Ancient Basin.
Drop 3000 Geo into the hidden fountain for a Mask Shard.Go to Palace Grounds and break the fake wall to the right

Descending Dark
Go all the way right to the end of the crystal floor and pick up the King's Idol then leave the screen. Check the image
below and follow the path.
Go all the way right into a new screen and rescue the Grub. Go back and hit the Essence tree with your Dream Nail
then collect the Essence. Get to the left side of the screen and start climbing up, then leave from the top right side.
Climb up until you reach Hallownest's Crown and go all the way left to pick up a Pale Ore. Drop from the cliff and go
all the way to the bottom right side of the map towards Crystallised Mound. Dive as soon as you enter the building
and follow the way to the top right side to rescue another Grub, then break the crystallised shadow to the bottom left
side of the Grub for the Descending Dark spell. Drop into Resting Grounds
Hallownest Seal
Go and talk to the Seer 3 times. Once will unlock the Glade, then you'll get a Pale Ore and Dream Wielder (if you've
been following this guide). Go through the Glade (right of the Seer). You can fight all the spirits in here, but it's
optional. Go to the top right side and hit the Essence Tree with your Dream Nail then collect the Essence. There's a
hidden room below the Essence tree, at the top of the waterfalls with a King's Idol. Go back to the large vertical
screen that leads to the Seer and on the bottom, dive into the coffins. After diving fall through the fake floor, find the
hidden path to the right, get the Geo Chest, then go up for a Grub. To the right of the chest is another hidden path,
that going right from it will lead eventually to another hidden path for a Wanderer's Journal. Instead of going through
that last hidden path, you can go up for the Soul Eater Charm. There's one more hidden path left on the left side of
the screen. It will lead to several hidden paths and eventually to a Hallownest Seal. Once you're done, take the
elevator down to City of Tears
Nailsmith
A few things you can do here: Visit Relic Seeker Lemm for some Geo (you'll also encounter him at the fountain),
then upgrade your Nail to its last form, the Pure Nail. After upgrading the Nail, the Nailsmith will step outside. If you
talk to him he'll say that his final wish is to be cut down with the Pure Nail and will give you the 'Purity' achievement,
but if you spare him, you'll get an achievement later if you visit him at his hut in the Greenpath. Check the image
image. Get to the Bench, prepare your Charms for a boss fight (look Watcher Knight section below) then drop into
the room below outside of the Bench's room and finish the Great Husks and Lance Sentries, then hit the lever to the
right of the room.
Get into the room to the right, hit the lever for a shortcut and leave the screen from the top right. Go all the way left
to a new screen, hit the lever to open up a shortcut then come back to the previous screen. Go up and take the
elevator up, take the right path and go up, this will lead you to a Grub. Go back to the previous screen and take the
left path. Take the elevator and prepare for a boss fight.
Watcher Knight
Sharp Shadow and Quick Focus will make this battle a lot easier. Use Sharp Shadow and dash through their spin
attacks and it's gonna be hard to find a moment to heal, hence Quick Focus. When they attack with their Nail, dash
through them and attack them from behind. When the spin bounces, try not to use the dash, seeing as the other one
might spin as well.
Continue right when you're done, go up then all the way left for a Hallownest Seal and a Geo Chest, then leave the
screen from the top. Take the elevator up, notice the body on the stone flinth, use your Dream Nail on it. In the
Dream World, hit Lurien The Watcher and Focus. Go all the way to King's Station and take the Stag to Queen's

The gates will close as you enter the room. Defeat the enemies and continue right. Follow the papers towards
Cornifer and use the Bench to his left. To his right are the spirits of Caelif and Fera, put them to sleep with your
Dream Nail. Leave Cornifer's screen from the left and this one from the bottom right. Go into the next screen from
the bottom right. Check your map, on the bottom right side is a scaffolding you need to break to open a shortcut,
and the path above contains the Love Key, which you need to pick up. Go back to the previous screen, hit the
Essence tree to your left and collect the Essence. Leave from the bottom left.
Go all the way left into a new screen for a Bench you need to activate with 150 Geo. Go back to the large horizontal
screen and leave from the top left. Once here, the gates will close and you'll have to defeat the enemies. Continue
right when you're done and get to the top left side of the screen. You'll hear a Grub's cry, it's in a hidden path, left of
the Geo rock on the top left side of the screen. Rescue the Grub and leave from the top. Get to the top left side and
to the next screen. Go all the way left to a new screen and find the hidden path leading up to a Grub. Drop down to
the bottom and go left, then to the top left for a Hallownest Seal. Leave the screen from the bottom.
Pass Marmu's spirit and go right, reveal the hidden path to the right and activate the Stag Station, hit the lever and
use the Bench. Go back and challenge Marmu. Marmu doesn't need its own section, it's easy enough because it will
bounce every time you hit him. Use your Nail Art Cyclone Slash for an easy repel every time he comes at you. Talk
to him after the fight, go back to the Bench screen and leave from the right.
Leave this screen from the top right. Hit the lever but leave from the top left. Get to the top and there will be only a
path to the right, but you can break the glass to your left that leads to a Super Dash challenge and finally a Grub.
Now take the path to the right and hit the Essence tree to collect Essence, then go back to the previous screen and
leave the screen from the bottom left (prepare for a boss fight soon enough). Go all the way left and up. Gates will
close and Cloth will join the fight if you saved her.
Traitor Lord
This is a big boss in a small area. Focusing will be hard in this battle, the best moments are when Cloth is fighting
the boss. Your Shade Cloak ability will really come in handy here, seeing as the only way to avoid the wave attack is
by dashing through it. Wait until it performs its slash attack and dash through it, then attack from behind. Often times
it will perform the slash several times and interrupting the convo with an aerial strike. Keep this up long enough and
it'll be done with.
Leave the screen from the left. Go all the way left and into the building. Follow the path to the end and meet the
White Lady, she will give you the White Fragment. Go back to the Stag Station and take the Stag to Queen's
Station. Follow the path below (use the Bench on the way to prepare for a boss fight.
The Elder Hu shouldn't be too hard, the attacks are simple enough to dodge and with the Shade Cloak, they're even
easier to dodge. Check the image below and make your way to another Essence Tree.
Collect the Essence and leave the screen from the left into Fungal Core. Leave this screen from the bottom. Drop all
the way to the bottom and into the lit hole to get to Deepnes and pick up the Mask Shard.

Make your way to the Bench on the left side of the map and prepare for a boss fight. Leave the Bench screen from
the huge hole on the left and into the Failed Tramway. Leave the screen from bottom exit just a few steps to the left
of the entrance. Leave this screen from the left. Go all the way left and challenge Galien.
Galien
Not a particularly hard boss either. Just keep using your Shade Cloak to dodge the spinning axe and hit Galien in
between. Keep this up long enough and it'll go down.
Get the Lifeblood Cocoon above Galien and go back to the previous screen and leave from the right once again.
Leave this screen from the bottom. Make your way to the left side and leave the screen. Go all the way left, you'll
eventually hit a dead end, but you can make your way up with the platforms. Dropping to the left side revealing a
hidden path will lead you to a Rancid Egg. Start making your way to the top right and you'll see a Grub, you have go
around it from the left end to get to it. Look down, spot the platform and drop on it to get to the right side to get to a
building, the Weaver's Den. Once inside go all the way right, then towards the top left to pick up the Weaversong
Charm. Go back, jump on the platform below the grub and go all the way left. Hit the Essence Tree and collect the
Essence. Leave the screen from the top left. Keep going left until you reach Distant Village. Follow the way up and
slightly left to find a building. Use the fake Bench there to start a challenge.
Once in the Beast's Den, make it all the way up and find the Grub that is under a fake floor. At the very top will be a
spirit you can put to rest. You'll get an achievement afterwards and encounter the Hornet. Drop from the right and
keep hugging the right side to get to a Rancid Egg, this one can be missed permanently, but doesn't count towards
completion. Then going to the bottom and left will lead to a Hallownest Seal can be missed permanently as well.
You'll find the exit dropping from where the Hornet is, all the way left. Just continue falling until you see a lit path to
the right. This will lead to a Bench and a fake floor that will lead you to the entrance of the building. Check your map
and go through the top right exit. Activate the Station and the Stag will tell you about this new place. Take it to the
Stag Nest and grab the Vessel Fragment. Take the elevator to the right and drop down to Howling Cliffs. Challenge
Gorb, Super Dash to the right towards Dirtmouth and take the Stag to King's Station.
Markoth
If you gave Geo to Millibelle, go to the Pleasure House and get what's yours, she'll be on the hot spring at the top.
The next objective is below the Stag Station you came from (prepare for a boss fight). Jump on the water and keep
going right. Check the image below.
Go to the top left side and use the Love Key. Follow the path to the end and you'll encounter The Collector.
The Collector
This boss will usually leap all the time and drop glass cases that will spawn enemies. Focusing shouldn't be an
issue, as long as you're on the other side of the screen (and there isn't more than 1 enemy) you will be able to
Focus just fine, his leaps are slow, but bring Quick Focus if you're struggling. Aside from that, there isn't much
strategy, the pattern is very predictable.
After defeating The Collector, go to the right and above for the last 3 Grubs! A little bit to the left of the last Grub is
The Collector's Map. This will let you see missing Grubs in the map. Take the upper right path to Kingdom's Edge.
Take the path from the image below towards the shadow gate and challenge Markoth.
Markoth
Markoth has a shield floating around him all the time and will attack with Nails that will appear out of nowhere on
different parts of the room and go towards (but won't follow you). After a while it will make his shield circle around
him, but faster and reaching farther. After attacking him enough, he will summon a second shield and the intervals
between nail attacks will be shorter. You should aim to heal during the shield attacks, but if you don't need to heal,
you can get near him after the shields have reached farther and he will be vulnerable to attacks. If you can spare the
Soul, climb the walls and use your Shade Soul attack against him.
When you're done, check the world map to see if you've missed any Grubs and let's pay one last visit to the
Grubfather. Take the Stag from King's Station to Dirtmouth.
SPOILER
If you visit the Grubfather one more time after sitting on a Bench, you'll come back to an inflated Grubfather and
you'll hear the Grub's cries from inside him. It isn't clear if this is a cruel act, but I'm inclined to believe otherwise
seeing as the achievement is called 'Metamorphosis'

There's an acid river you need to swim through at the end to reveal a hidden path to Fog Canyon.
Place the Delicate Flower at the Traitor's Child grave then take the Stag to Resting Grounds (or reload if you didn't
use any Benches) and talk to Grey Mourner and grab the Mask Shard. Take the Stag to Infected Crossroads.

Womb
Leave the Stag Station and enter the path above you that leads to the left. Break the fake wall that appears on the
image below.
It'll lead you to a hidden room with a passage covered in spikes. Super Dash to go through it and leave from the top.
Get to the end and the gates will close until you defeat all the enemies. When you're done go right and pick up the
Glowing Womb Charm. Go back to the fake wall and leave the screen from the left into False Knight's room. Break
the fake wall on the top right side and Dream Nail the spirit of Failed Champion.
Failed Champion
The attacks are the same as the False Knight, but much more faster and making contact with the body or mace will
deal 2 Masks of damage, and it will sometimes create one wave after the other. Usually the best way to dodge one
is by double jumping and using your Shade Cloak if you're caught too to jump. As with the False Knight, Focus
when the boss is down and attack it.
When you're done, take the Stag to Resting Grounds, visit the Seer for the Awoken Dream Nail ability and the last
Mask Shard. Take the Stag back to King's Station.
Take the path to Ancient Basin. Take the top left exit towards Royal Waterways. See that platform to your left? Dive
below it and prepare for a boss fight. Dream Nail the Dung Defender's spirit.
White Defender
The attacks are mostly the same as the Dung Defender's, but faster and it has a new attack where it will rise spikes
of dirt in a wave form. Use your Shade Cloak to dodge this attack. Like most Dream Boss fights, you don't die when
you lose, this means you can use Fragile Strength and/or Fragile Heart without fear of losing it. Fragile Strength and
Mark of Pride will really come in handy in this battle. This boss has plenty of health so you're gonna want to deal
more damage and you'll find yourself dangerously close to the boss more often than not.
Leave the screen from the right and get to to the bottom then leave from the left and towards Ancient Basin.
Use the Bench and prepare for a boss fight. It's another Dream Boss so leave your Fragile Strength Charm
equipped and consider equipping the Defender's Crest or the Spore Shroom. From the Bench on the left side, Super
Dash to the left and continue to the end where the Broken Vessel's spirit is.
Lost Kin
Mostly the same as the Broken Vessel, use Fragile Strength without fear of losing it this time and Defender's Crest
or Spore Shroom to help with the Infected Balloons.
When you're done head all the way to Palace Grounds and use your Awoken Dream Nail on the white armour. Enter
the white palace, jump over the mechanic bees and use the Bench. Go all the way to the top right, using the
platforms and into a new screen. Defeat the Kingsmould and continue. Go around the platforms to the level above
the Kingsmould and hit the lever. Go back to the previous screen and step on the platform to go up. Leave the
screen from the top exit. Follow the platforms to the right and leave the screen from the rigth. Keep going right. Past
the razor blades then you'll have to go up avoiding the razor blades. Once you're at the top, leave from the left.
Find your way towards the left exit through the challenge. Get to the bottom and hit the lever. Drop down and hit the
lever to turn on the lantern. Go all the way left, you'll see a lit area that takes you out of the White Palace, use the
path below to the left. Find your way to the top left exit. There's a lantern all the way to the right. Hit the lever, leave
from the right and drop down. Hit the lever and follow the platforms to the right to a platform that will take you up.
Take the platform up and leave from the top. There will be a Bench and an exit towards the top. Find your way to the
top exit once again. Go all the way around to the top right then drop down. Hit the lever and go right, get to the end
of the ledge and you'll see a platform on the far right, double jump, dash and you'll get there. Find your way to the
top right side and Super Dash to the left. Go all the way to the top and hit the skeleton to collect the other White
Fragment and form the Kingsoul Charm.
ENDING SPOILER
You can equip the Kingsoul and head to the Abyss' bottom to reveal a hidden area. There's an Arcane Egg there
and if you use your Dream Nail on the Black Egg at the end, the Kingsoul will turn into the Void Heart and you'll see
a different ending, but you won't get the normal ending achievement.
Take the Stag one more time to the Seer and get the Ascension achievement. Take the Stag to Dirtmouth.

Grimm
Nightmare King
Use the Bench and equip your Fragile Charms. Talk to Divine in the small tent and he'll make your Fragile Charms
unbreakable. She'll ask for Geo each time and it's gonna be a lot of Geo. Go to Relic Seeker Lemm and sell all your
stuff if you're lacking Geo. Equip your Grimmchild Charm and open a Dream Gate right next to the Bench. Open the
world map and look for the Flames locations and defeat the Grimmkin Novice in all 3 locations. You have to do this
3 times, each time with a different enemy. Each time you defeat one, use the Dream Gate to go back to Dirtmouth
and talk to Grimm.
Grimmkin Novice
They will fly out of range as you try to approach them, you have to wait for it to perform an attack before you try to
hit it. Equip your best Charms, the Unbreakable Strength is a must. Another good addition is the Sharp Shadow
Charm. The Grimmkin Novice will sometimes charges at you, and you can dodge while hurting him.
Grimmkin Master
The behavior and tactics are the same here. It's a little stronger and the attacks are slightly different, but it's mostly
about the same.
Grimmkin Nightmare
This one is the same as other Grimmkin creatures, but tougher than both of them. As usual, take Sharp Shadow and
consider Unbreakable Strength as well. When you've killed 3 of them, go back to Dirtmouth, enter the big tent and
use your Dream Nail on Grimm at the end. Then go back and fight the Nightmare King.
Nightmare King
The attacks are similar to Grimm's, and you can only heal during one of his attacks, but now it's much faster,
therefore much harder. I suggest bringing Deep Focus and only healing during stagger. Sharp Shadow is more
valuable than ever, you'll find yourself dashing through most of his attack. Another invaluable Charm can the Dream
Shield, this will block the firebats attacks and some of the Nightmare King's attacks as well. The combination of
Charms are plenty, you can also try and maximise your health with Joni's Blessing, Lifeblood Heart and
Unbreakable Heart.
When you're done with the Nightmare King, you will receive the Ritual achievement and spawn back outside on
Dirtmouth.
Alternative Path
You can go talk to Brumm near the Lantern in Howling Cliffs and you get the Banishment achievement.
Final Steps
All that's left now is the final boss, but if you're eager for more, there a few more things you can do. You can
complete trials at the Colosseum of Fools for an achievement, go to Salubra to get her blessing and more
achievement, and defeat every enemy in the game for another achievement, as well as defeating the remaining
Dream Bosses. If you're eager for more, you can defeat the final boss and re-play the game to complete the
achievements you missed, such as saving or neglecting Zote, sparing or killing the Nailsmith, etc. There are also a
few other challenges, such as speed-running the game.
Phase 1: The first attack you'll probably see is a triple slash combo. The Hollow Knight will attack forward with its
nail. The second attack is a simple lunge of the Nail, and the third is a jump towards you.
Phase 2: It will use 2 more attacks during this phase. Sometimes it will open its chests and fire a group of orange
blobs towards you, the second one is a jump followed by a thrust towards the groun that will spawn many flame
pillars emanating from the ground.
Phase 3: The Hollow Knight will float while its chests fires orange blobs all over the room, and sometimes it will float
and smash the ground repeteadly. It becomes slower during this phase so it's a good idea to heal if needed.
Phase 4: During the last phase, The Hollow Knight will only use the bouncing attack and a swing of the Nail. At the
end you'll be prompted to Focus.
Strategy: Attacking from above is the way to go here, it's especially easy to do during the Lunge or Triple Slash
Combo. You can bounce off it a few times to land extra hits. You can dash as soon as you the jump attack. During
the blob explosion attack, you can position yourself into safe zones where the blobs don't reach. You use this to
Focus or simply to avoid dodging the attacks. Use your Shade Soul when you're far from The Hollow Knight,
especially after a teleport.
Well, that's it, folks. Hope you enjoyed the game and reading through our guide, cheers.
