Introduction

Entire Physics is depend on measurement and Entire

measurement is depend on Quantities. Physical quantities are a
characteristic or property of an object that can be measured or
calculated from other measurements. Starting with the early
introduction of the concept “physical quantity” by Maxwell in his
work on electricity and magnetism, attention is focused in
particular on the foundations of the calculus with physical
quantities given by Wallot in the 1920s.

Unit
Unit is a quantity of constant magnitude which is used to measure
the magnitudes of other quantities of the same manner.

Requirements for Unit

1. Well Defined
2. Universally Accepted
3. Comparable
4. Easily Available
5. Reproducible

6
There are Two Types of Physical Quantities :
1. Fundamental Physical Quantity
2. Derived Physical Quantity

Fundamental Quantity :
Quantity Which Does Not Depends On Other Physical Quantity Is
Called Fundamental Quantity.
There Are 7 Types of Physical Quantity
1. Mass
2. Length
3. Luminous Intensity
4. Amount of Substance
5. Current
6. Time
7. Temperature

Derived Quantity :
Quantity Which Depends On Other Physical Quantity Is Called
Fundamental Quantity.
All Quantities Except Fundamental Quantities is Derived
Quantities.

12
CONCLUSION

 We understood about Physical Quantities and its Types.

 We Identified Difference between Fundamental and Derived

Quantity.

 We Understood importance of fundamental and Derived

Physical Quantity.

 We knew all Fundamental units

 We knew quantities and units of derived quantity very well!
