Object: firmware upgrade of the Evd Evolution Display via


VPM (tLAN)

The display firmware can be upgraded using a software utility named VPM (Visual Parameter
Manager).
Please, find below the instructions to perform the firmware upgrade.

1. Updating procedure

1. Connect the USB-tLAN converter (cod. EVDCNV00E0) to one of USB ports of the PC where
the VPM was previously installed;

2. Connect the display you want to update to the USB- tLAN converter. The display backlight
has to turn on;

3. Run the VPM double-clicking on its icon;

4. Click on EvdEvo image;

5. Click on “Create a new Project”;

6. Do not insert any password, and click directly on “OK” button;

7. In panel “Properties”, at top right corner of the screen, click on “tLAN Port”, and select the
COM port (Please, click on “Wizard” and follow the instructions to retrieve the correct COM
port);

8. On Module List (at left) select “Upload firmware” (see fig.1);

9. Make sure “tLAN (front connector)” option is checked;

10. Select the firmware to upload, clicking on the button “...” and specifying the file
“ed_222_xxx_xx.fwp” in the folder you have saved it (see fig.2);

11. Click on “Next”; the software will start to search the display present in line; when the device
is found, press “Stop”;

12. Click again on “Next”; you will see the dispaly found; click on the box “Select all” (see fig.3)
if you want to upgrade the display;

13. Click again on “Next”;

14. Double check all information summarized are correct, then click on “Start Upload” button,
and confirm then with “Yes” (see fig.6);

15. Wait the end of the upload. It will take several minutes.
