The curriculum is also changing and it depends on the needs of the
students. The interest of the learner’s changes every time hence, the
system must also keep pace with these changes. Curriculum must
reconstruct and develop for the needs of the learners and achieve
academic fulfilment.

how I should teach my students and help them achieve the academic
goals they set for themselves. Curriculum is the key to make my
students study with purpose and develop their holistic knowledge.

Foundations
of Curriculum
Development
Jean Piaget
His contributions include a stage theory of child
cognitive development, detailed observational studies of
cognition in children, and a series of simple but ingenious
tests to reveal different cognitive abilities. His theory
has influenced concepts of individual and student-
centred learning, formative assessment, active learning,
discovery learning, and peer interaction.
Howard Gardner
He believed that the conventional concept of
intelligence was too narrow and restrictive and that
measures of IQ often miss out on other
"intelligences" that an individual may possess. He
has also proposed the possible addition of a ninth
type which he refers to as "existential intelligence."
John Dewey
He believed that a democratic society of informed and
engaged inquirers was the best means of promoting
human interests. Dewey is best known for his
writings on education. But he also has written about
many other topics, icluding , experience ,logic, ethics,
inquiry democracy, nature and art.
