4.3. Safety equipments

4.3.1. Extinguisher

The extinguisher is located under the fuel tank. Its command box is located
under the front damper cover. Use the switch to test the battery and to arm the
system.

1
2
3

How does the command box work?

It is a 3 positions switch:

Position 1: system armed

“System armed” means that if you push the fire button or pull the master switch
cable, you will immediately deploy the extinguisher.
The green light goes ON only when the extinguisher is deployed.

Position 2: system isolated

This position is to test the extinguisher loom. Everything must be correctly

connected to the loom. When you push the fire button or pull the master switch
cable, the green light must go ON but the extinguisher will not deploy.

Note: if the green light is ON without testing the system, there is a

default on the loom. In this case, you must be careful because the
extinguisher is directly connected to the command box. As a
consequence, if you switch to position 1, you will immediately deploy the
extinguisher.

Release 1.3 - 27/05/2010

Position 3: battery check

If the orange light goes ON, the battery is ok.

4.3.2. Emergency command

The spring must be enough preloaded between the first cable stop (1) and the
roll hoop bracket. There must be a minimal distance of 5 mm between the
second cable stop (2) and the switch lever.

The hole in the roll hoop cover must be enlarged to permit the cable loop to stop
against the roll-hoop bracket (3) and not against the roll hoop fairing (4) like on
the above picture.

It is allowed to trim a little bit the engine cover around the master switch cable.
This modification is recommended as the engine cover may pull the cable in
some specific cases.

The use of the official ballast is mandatory (please refer to the nomenclature).

2 types of ballast available = 0.250 g or 1 kg

4.5. Noise level

The static noise level measured according to the F.I.A. norms is 107.8 dB.
