02.05 Ocean Health Field Trip Worksheet

Johnny Daugherty completed a 360-degree virtual field trip to the Florida Keys sanctuary where he observed various fish species interacting by chasing each other. He noted that pollution and marine debris are environmental threats impacting the sanctuary. To help with conservation, he suggested cleaning trash off beaches to prevent it from entering the ocean. The worksheet questions also covered how the Andrew "Red" Harris Foundation was formed after a tragedy and is now restoring marine ecosystems by creating artificial reefs, and how seagrasses, mangroves, ocean acidification, and increasing temperatures affect coral reef health.
