INTRODUCTION

I believe that the statement of purpose should be an appropriate blend of thoughts and reasons.
Hence, I would choose to remain sincerely honest and candid about what I am and what I want to
become. This is my resubmission application for the earlier applied student visa to Canada for the
course construction project management at Canadore College, Canada: a country that is known for
the quality of its education.

I am Sandeep Kumar , a resident of Jharkhand, India. I have passed my class 10th in March 2013
from Jharkhand academic Council and class 12th in August 2015 from the same Jharkhand academic
council. I also completed my Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering and technology in August
2020 from national institute of technology, Jamshedpur. During my undergraduate course, I had
learned various core subjects along with subjects like Professional Communication,
Entrepreneurship, and Management which sparked my interest in the managerial side In addition
to this, I successfully completed a case study project to solve a water scarcity issue faced by a village
in proximity to my hometown by designing and assessing water storing and distribution systems
with the help of software like STAAD PRO V8i, Autodesk’s AUTO-CAD, primavera p6 portfolio
management. In these projects, I found some challenges and figured out my shortcomings. During
the execution of projects, I have learned that the unforeseen problems faced by teams are due to
poor management which helped to refine my teamwork skills, As I always want to become a
construction developer so that I can run my organization one day, this degree will help me
efficiently.

After the completion of graduation, I started to look for employment opportunities to enhance my
practical skills in the field of the Construction Industry. I was then offered the post of construction
Site Engineer at simplex infrastructure Pvt Ltd. As a Construction Site Engineer. I worked as a Site
Engineer at from august 2020 to February 2022 . It was my first exposure to an organization where
I had observed the practical implementation of the knowledge previously read in books. My
experience at Simlex made me realize that ensuring proper site management, survey, and
monitoring of quality assurance of construction work and the ability to deliver results effectively
and efficiently on time is of utmost importance. I had also worked as an intern at CPWD
Construction Company, during my under graduation, where I got to learned the importance of
effective communication and teamwork among various stakeholders in a construction project. so, I
left the job and started preparing IELTS exam. To pursue my passion of becoming a construction
manager and completing my specialization from Canada I took coaching for a few months and
appeared for the IELTS examination , I secured an overall score of 6.5 with all individual bands above
6.0.

 WHY CANADA?

Now, you might think why I chose to pursue my studies in Canada rather than in India or any other
country. Although various courses are being taught now in India too, however, I overlooked the
institutes in India as the institutions in the country focused primarily on theoretical aspects of
knowledge without giving importance to its practicality. I was in search of attaining global exposure
and practical training in my field of study. Hence, I decided to study at a foreign institute.

I started exploring various study options in all the countries around the world and Canada appealed
to me with its world-class education, high-quality programs, flexible education system, and
industry- relevant curriculum. Graduates from Canadian colleges and universities are highly sought
after due to the impressive international reputation of the Canadian education system. Also,
Canada offers affordable academic options without compromising quality, is a safe country with
friendly living conditions, has multicultural learning and living environment, has people of different
ethnicities living together providing the best opportunity for me to interact with people of diverse
backgrounds and
cultures and get the global exposure I intend to, in comparison to the other countries of the world.
Also, there is no doubt that Canada has the best research output and the best technology in the whole
world. All these factors contributed towards finalizing my decision in favor of pursuing my studies
in Canada rather than any other country in the world.

WHY CANADORE COLLEGE

My search for a suitable College has led me to choose Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Construction
Project Management offered by Canadore College. They offer one of the most innovative courses in
Construction Project Management which includes a comprehensive set of subjects needed in the
present construction management scenario. With a unique combination of contemporary subjects
such as Construction Site job control, Occupational health safety, and security, Quantity surveying,
Estimating and Bidding procedures, etc. Moreover, Canadore college offers a 1-year program for a
post-Baccalaureate program where I will be having both theoretical as well as practical skills
knowledge. Furthermore, Canada is ranked among the top destinations for international students
primarily for the quality of education and a culturally diverse society due to which students
graduating from Canadian Colleges are valued and recognized worldwide. The cost of living, tuition
fees are reasonable compared to other destinations making it a dream choice for an applicant.

WHY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT?

After almost 2 year of exposure at simplex , I have chosen construction project Management for my
further study because this course aligns with my passion of becoming a construction project manager
in any reputed construction company. It is designed for graduates and for others who have an
interest in the construction field with a background in working as a construction engineer and help
them to acquire managerial skills in same field and create an edge over the others. Also, it is relevant
to my previous education, as I have done my Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering where I
completed all the relevant subjects. By studying this course, I will get specialization in the key areas
of health and safety in construction, building information Modelling, planning, and scheduling to
provide important insights on construction site to help them operate and monitor more effectively.
The Construction project Management program has an excellent curriculum for construction
engineer like me have the opportunity to learn various construction techniques, estimations,
drafting, project managing, scheduling, economics, resource management and contracts and laws. It
is a high valued course in the field of civil engineering.

 A construction manager should possess a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating
questions, deficit unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts along with general management skill.
There is a growing need for construction manager in companies to strategically manage construction
site.
Relevancy of Chosen Program

I believe that the program I have opted to study is relevant to my background and requisite
knowledge in the following terms:

● Certification in Software: Autocad ,MS project & Primavera P6 Project Management
● Chosen Program: Construction Project Management
● Future Prospects: Construction Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Estimator, Residential
construction manager, construction developer etc

FINANCIAL SPONSOR

My parents will fund my education and living expenses in Canada. My father is buisness of selling
constructin material and also a owner of fuel station . My mother is a housewife. They are doing
extremely well in their profession. With their savings and income, it would be easy for me to manage
my expenses. I have already paid the tuition fees to the institution and have maintaineda GIC account
to cover my living expenses.
I have also attached the necessary documents with this statement and I hope that you would be
convinced of their financial capability to fund the program in Canada.

CAREER OUTCOME AND COST-BENEFIT OF MY CHOSEN COURSE IN MY HOME COUNTRY

After the completion of my course, I intend to return to India and work in one of the major Indian
companies like L&T, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Projects, Simplex Infrastructure, etc, who readily
recruit efficient Construction managers. With a population of over 1.4 billion, India is not only a global
market but also a global destination for business and economic activity. Initiatives like Start-Up India,
supported by Make-In-India, and Digital India by the Indian Government have resulted in the setting
up of more than 20,000 new start-ups across India. Indian Government has launched "The Bharat Mala
Project" which connects all the ports to the new high-speed road network of 83,677 km which will
help in the export of goods. The "Homes for Everyone" project by the government of India has created
lots of opportunities for Construction Industries. This has created opportunities not only for skilled
Construction Management professionals but also for young entrepreneurs. It will provide me with the
right platform to not only begin a career as a Construction Manager but also aspire to become an
entrepreneur and employment generator in India. . The average expected pay scale for construction
manager is INR 7 lakh to INR 8 lakh p.a. After a few years, I can get promotions to senior management
roles with salary hikes of at least 10 to 12 lakhs annually.

REASON FOR RETURNING HOME COUNTRY

Moreover, my country is a developing country and there are wide opportunities in the construction
and management field. Civil engineering and technology is an exciting and growing field of study as
well. After returning back, I will search for jobs as I desire to serve my nation and implement my
learning. Further, I have a permanent home in India and my parents are well settled here. Also, As a

single child now so I have some certain family responsibilities towards my parents and I don’t want
them to live alone for a long period of time at this stage and age of their lifewhere they need me the
most. So, I am emotionally attached to my family, which does not allow me to live far away for a long
duration. I also have strong financial assets here in India in the form of property and land. My sole
reason for going to Canada is to get the best education available in my current field of construction
project Management. That is why; I will come back to India after the completion of my course and will
secure my future while residing with my family.
