Chapter III
STUDENT POLICIES
1. ATTENDANCE:
Attendance of all students in school activities such as regular classes, flag ceremonies,
foundation day celebration, parade, graduation/recognition day, monthly celebrations, tree planting and
others is COMPULSORY.
2. ABSENCES
a. A student must present an excuse letter on his/her return to school after being absent from
classes duly signed by parents/guardians. He/She then submit the letter to the class adviser and to all
the subject teachers.
b. The students are held responsible for all the assignments or projects given during his absence.
c. A student who has been suspended in class is considered absent.
d. A student who has been absent due to contagious illness must present a Medical Certificate that
there is no longer any danger of contagion.
e. Students absent from laboratory work/field activities will under the subject teacher’s discretion to
render make-up work.
f. Students cutting classes shall be made to present written explanation to the adviser by his
parents/guardians the next day he/she will attend classes.
A student who incur absences for more than 20% of the prescribed number of class laboratory
periods during the school year or term should be given a failing grade and shall be given no credit for
the course/subject. Furthermore, the school head may, at his discretion and in the individual case may
exempt a student who exceeds the twenty percent limit for reasons considered valid and acceptable on
the school. Such discretion shall not excuse the student concerned from responsibility in keeping up
with the lesson assignment and taking examinations where indicated. The discretionary authority is
vested in the school head, and may not be availed of by a student nor granted by a faculty member
without the consent of the school head.
3. HABITUAL TARDINESS AND CUTTING CLASSES
Habitual tardiness especially during the first period in the morning and in the afternoon shall
not be allowed. Teacher concerned shall call the attention of parents of the student or conduct home
visitation, same with the cutting of classes. The Guidance Counselor will monitor the attendance of
students in all grade levels and list the names of students who are fond of cutting classes. Call the
attention of parents and conduct an investigation thereby make an agreement between the student and
Guidance Counselor
and adviser in the presence of the parents.
4. SCHOOL STUDENT PASSES
a. Pass out slip
b. Pass absents
Pass outing classes
5. FLAG CEREMONY
At 7:10 A.M. the bell will ring for the student to assemble in the quadrangle for the flag
ceremony. At exactly 7:15 A.M. the prayer leader will start the prayer to be followed by the
Pambansang Awit to be lead by the assigned teacher weekly, Panunumpa sa Watawat, Ako ay Pilipino
and Fishery Hymn. Finally, the “Morning Exercise” shall be lead by assigned section.
6. SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
a. Monthly Scheduled Mass every First Friday in the morning.
b. Sports – the school sports activities is done only during Intramurals, Town Meet, Congressional,
Provincial and Palarong Pambansa.

Unit III. POLICIES ON STUDENT DISCIPLINE
1. Who has the authority to maintain school discipline? (D.O. 92, s. 1992)
Every school shall maintain discipline inside the school campus as well as outside the school
premises when pupils or students are engaged in activities authorized by the school.
. Imposition of Disciplinary Action
School officials shall have the right to impose appropriate and reasonable disciplinary measures
in case of minor offenses or infractions of good discipline. However no cruel or physically harmful
punishment shall be imposed or applied to any students.
B. Suspensions/Expulsion (Sec. 145-151, Part VI, Chapter III Service Manual 1960)
For first and other offenses which are not very serious in nature, a suspension from school not
to exceed 3 days may be authorized by the principal without prior approval of the Division
Superintendent. However, parents must be informed by the teacher or the school principal on any
misconduct on the part of their children for which disciplinary action is necessary.
For persistent offender or one guilty of a serious offense a suspension for not more than one (1)
year maybe imposed subject to the approval of the Division Superintendent.
Suspension for a school year or more or expulsion from school can be ordered only by the
secretary.
In all cases of suspension, a written promise of future exemplary conduct signed by the
pupil/student and countersigned by his parents or guardian shall be required as a condition for
readmission and must be required in the case of suspension for more than 3 days.
OFFENSES PUNISHABLE BY SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION:
Grave misconduct
Cheating and stealing
Assaulting a teacher or any other school authority/ his agents or students
Vandalism, writing or destroying property like chairs
Gambling of any sort
Drinking intoxicants and liquor
Carrying and concealing deadly weapons
Extorting and asking money from others
Fighting causing injury to others
Using, possessing and selling prohibited drugs
Hazing in any form and manner whether inside/outside the school premises
Preventing, threatening students or faculty members or school authorities from discharging
their duties/ from attending classes or entering school premises
Forging/tampering school records or transfer forms
The use of corporal punishment by the teachers, imposing manual work or degrading task as
penalty, meting out cruel and unusual punishment of any nature, holding a student to unnecessary
ridicule the use of epithets and expressions tending to destroy the students’ self respect and the
permanent confiscation of the personal property or students are forbidden.
