Culture is difficult to define but can be identified through factors passed down between generations like language, beliefs, values, norms, and behaviors. There are two types of culture: material culture, which includes visible items like clothing, art, and utensils, and nonmaterial culture, which involves ways of thinking and interacting like beliefs and behaviors. While culture is hard to explain, it is easy to identify someone from a different culture based on these observable factors. Understanding different cultures is important to avoid disrespect and allow people to proudly express their culture through clothing, food, and other aspects based on their beliefs and values. Culture gives people identity and a form of expression regardless of attributes.

In most cases, Culture is easier to describe than to define; You can tell someone is from a
different culture by certain factors that were passed from one generation to the next one:
language, beliefs, values, norms or behaviors which provide a sharp contrast to what we are
used to seeing. However, among the many branches of culture there is Material and
Nonmaterial Culture; First of all, Material Culture refers to any item we can either see or touch
such as jewelry, art, buildings, weapons, hairstyles, clothing and even eating utensils while
Nonmaterial Culture is a group’s ways of thinking and doing including beliefs and values or
behavior and forms of interaction.

Now, talking about my opinion culture is in fact kind of a strange subject to define. However,
what was said on the first part of the summary is true: It is easy to tell someone is from another
place or has a different culture just by observing the mentioned factors which are basically
physical or visual representations as well as beliefs or behaviors. To show you what I mean,
think of any times you’ve encountered someone slightly different to you and how effortless it
was to tell they were from another country and had a different culture than yours. Perhaps by
doing this it could look rather as race motivated or prejudiced; Despite that, it is a natural human
behavior

The reason as to why this is important is because if we are not able to notice someone is from a
respective culture we may be unconsciously disrespectful to them since we do not know what
they may or may not see as good or bad. Another reason is that no matter wherever you’re
from, throughout Material and Nonmaterial culture anyone is able to show their culture with
pride and wear anything however they feel the most comfortable in based on their culture’s
sayings. Finally, in addition to what was just said, it is important because this way, we are able
to make it known to other people.

Culture is surely a hard to explain topic, we can agree on that; Despite that, culture is necessary
and has a big impact on how people reflect and portray themselves. Culture is not only
manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively, but it is a beautiful way
to give any person from a certain descendancy an identity and a form of expression regardless
of their gender, age or sex throughout food, clothes, hairstyles and other stuff as seen in
continents like africa or places like the Middle East who wear colorful clothes and have specific

animals to represent their cultures, stating that they express themselves that way and making
their culture notorious when you see someone from that kind of places.
