AD stands for in the year of the
Lord”
“wow! Thats great sir!”
“The idea to count years from
the birth of Jesus Christ was
first proposed in the year 525 by
Dionysius Exiguus, a christian
monk. Standardized under the
Julian and Gregorian Calendars,
the system spread throughout
Europe and the Christian world
during the centuries that
followed”

“This is the example of Julian

Calendar,

It was proposed by Julius

Caesar, if today is April 28,
2022. Todays Julian Date is
22,118”
“Amazing sir!”
“While BCE stands for Before
Current Era, and CE stands for
Current Era”

"The difference between the two

is that Christian countries used
BC/AD, while non-Christians,
scientists, and academia used
BCE/CE."
“That’s Great sir! New knowledge
again!”

“Let’s proceed to our

discussion, the human Cultural
Evolution”

“Prehistory is divided into three

different periods. The
Paleolithic, Neolithic and Metal
Age”

“Do you have an idea about

these periods?”
“Sir may I be recognize?”
“Yes Go ahead Gerald!”
“Sir I think it was happened many
years ago.”
“Very good Gerald!”

"It happened many years ago,

because today we will discuss
how the human culture, society
and politics evolved“
“Wow sir! Amazing”
“Let’s talk about the first stage
of the prehistory, the Paleolithic
Age”

“Paleolithic came from the

Greek word palaios means old
and lithos means stone, so if you
combine the two words
Paleolithic age means Old stone
age”
“wow that’s absolutely amazing
sir!”
"Paleolithic begin with the
appearance of the first human
beings and happened 2.5 million
years ago"

"the earth was extremely cold

during the paleolithic period,
and oceans level were much
lower than they are now. The
stone age is also known as the
ICE AGE because to the cold
temperature."

“During these years, people

were NOMADS. They
constantly on the move in search
of animals to hunt as they were
hunters and gatherers. Nomads
means they didn’t live in one
place.”
“Sir?”
“Yes Cyra?”
“Where did they live?”
“Good question Cyra!
Paleolithic people lived inside
the caves. They also have arts
such as paintings and sculpture.
The Venus of Hohle fels is one
of the oldest sculpture, it
symbolizes hope for survival
and longevity, within
well-nourished and
re-productively successful
communities”.

”Now let’s identify the different

characteristics of culture”
“Wow! Sir where did they get their
clothes?”
“Paleolithic people wore animal
skins they had previously
hunted”
“okay sir, That’s amazing! What
tool did they use sir for hunting?”
“They were able to use simple
tools and weapons made of
unpolished stone. The caves
served as their shelters”

“The most important invention

in Paleolithic is fire, they
discover it through stone, for
their protection against cold and
to cook their food.”

“In this era, respect is given to

age, and individual prowess and
ability are recognized. There are
no leaders that could be said to
be above everybody else and
whose commands are obeyed.”
“Sir may I be recognize?”
“yes Francis?”
“Sir how would they decide? Are
they consider their other members
opinion ?”
“good question Francis, In some
cases, one who is known for
good decisions is consulted
when a problem arises: or well
known hunter will be asked to
lead a hunting group.”

“that’s awesome sir!”

"As time passes, Nomads
become tired of hunting. They
enhance their mental ability
through experience as well.
Thats the end of the paleolithic
period and the start of the
Neolithic period, they learnt
how to domesticate animals and
cultivate vegetables and fruits."

“Neolithic came from the Greek

word Neo means new and lithos
means stone. If you combine the
two words, Neolithic age means
New Stone Age”

“It was happened for about

10,000 B.C. and also called the
first Agricultural Revolution,,
During this period, there was a
wide scale transition of many
human culture from lifestyle of
hunting and gathering to
agriculture and settlement.”
“Wow, that’s Great sir!”
“People depend on domesticated
animals and plants. They
learned to create such crafts as
pottery and weaving.”
“they are already knowledgeable in
making arts sir”
“Yes! That’s correct, From
being nomads during the early
stage human began to develop a
sedentary type of society.
Sedentary means not
migratory.”

“they were the first

agriculturists and farmers. They
built little villages made up of
families through domesticating
plants and animals.”

“Trivia!”
“We want it sir!”
“Wheat was the first plant to be
cultivated. Dogs, sheep, goats,
and pigs were the first
domesticated animals.”
“That’s amazing sir!”
“In neolithic art, Fabric and
ceramic were infamous. Their
tools and weapons were already
polished at this period.
Stonehenge, one of the seven
wonders of the world was exists
during this time. The most
important inventions in neolithic
was Wheel. Everything became
easy on men and women in
Neolithic. They were never
contented of their
accomplishments. They kept
discovering things for their own
convenience. So they discovered
metal.”
“they look great sir!”
“that marks the end of the
Neolithic period and the start of
the metal age.”

“metal age was known as age of

metals (4,000 B.C. - 1,500
B.C.). The used of metal such as
bronze, copper, and iron
produced a new historical
development from the cradle of
civilization Egypt,
Mesopotamia, Persia including
India and China. It was the third
stage of Prehistory”.

“There were three stages

distinguished within this age
due to different types of metals
that were used. Copper age,
Bronze Age and Iron Age.”

“Copper was the first known

metal, it was used to make
ornaments.”

“Agricultural tools were

developed with bronze such as
plows and sickles. Military
weapons such as swords, spears,
and shields. As well as
household utensils like jars,
bowl, and cups.”

“Likewise, more developed

social, cultural, political and
economic system were
improved. Tribes, empires, and
states were recognized at this
point.”

“As you can see, the chart

shows the differences of the
three stage of Prehistory."
“yes sir”
“Let’s Proceed to the Early
Civilization and rise of the
state”

“How exactly do we define

civilization?”
“sir may I be recognized?”
“Yes Joan?”
“We can consider it as a
civilization if there is people, arts,
culture, and politics sir”
“Very good Joan! According to
National Geographic, These are
the characteristics of
Civilizations: Large population
centers, monumental
architecture and unique art
styles, shared communications
strategies, systems put in place
administering territories, a
complex division of labor and
social and economic class
divisions.”

“How do we consider it as a
state?”
(Dave raising his hand)
“Yes Dave?”
“sir we consider it as a state if
there is population, sovereignty,
territory, and Government”
“Well Said Dave! Is it clear to
us class?”
“Yes sir!”
“Okay, almost all civilizations
have flourished nearby bodies of
water.”

“Why do you think?”

“sir may I be recognize?
“Go ahead Patrize”
“Sir because water is the source of
everything”
“Very good Patrize! They need
water for their plants, foods,
traveling and etc. Water is very
important to them that’s why
they build up civilizations
nearby a river or bodies of
water.”
“Wow! Amazing sir!”

“One of the Earliest states and

civilizations was found in the
fertile crescent which is known
as the Mesopotamian
Civilization.”

“The word Mesopotamia is a

Greek word for “Land between
two rivers, which is often
referred to as a the cradle of
civilization. It is the region of
western Asia located between
the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
First evidence of agriculture was
found here in Mesopotamia, in
modern day IRAQ. Oldest
Civilization in the world
MESOPOTAMIAN
CIVILIZATION was appeared
in 3,500 B.C. to 500 B.C.”
“Wow, that’s Great sir!”
“in the year 3,500 B.C. they
already have around 80,000
people making it as the largest
city of its time.”
“They are making bigger sir!”
“The first civilization that
emerged in Mesopotamian
civilization was the Sumerian
Civilization. They discovered
the CUNEIFORM, the earliest
system of writing. The
HISTORY writing appeared.
This invention was important, it
marks the end of the
Prehistory.”
“That’s Great sir!”
“Babylonian Civilization
discovered the code of
Hammurabi, It is the oldest
written set of laws, the also had
the Hanging garden of
Babylonian”
“Wow! Amazing!”

“Every City had its own

government, rulers warriors,
patron god, and functioned like
an independent city. There is a
temple at the center of each city,
they called it a ZIGGURAT”
“That’s Great sir!”
“Another ancient states and
civilizations was the Egyptian
Civilization, they emerged along
the Nile river.”

“They called their king a

PHARAOH. The PHARAOH
was all-powerful, he passed
laws, he ruled the country, he
owned most of the land and
control trade and led armies.
The Egyptians considered the
PHARAOH to be Gods. As a
result, when they die, they will
construct a pyramid for him.”

“TRIVIA TIME!”
“We love it sir!”
“How do Egyptians built
pyramid?”
“We don’t know sir”
“Actually pyramids were build
by Israelite, the slaves of
Egyptians. When a pharaoh
died, His family should look for
a complete set of animals that
exists in their society, they
believe that these animals will
lead the pharaoh to his journey.
They will also mummified the
animals and bury beside the
pharaoh inside the pyramid.”
“Wow! Thats great sir!”
“Let’s proceed to the modern
state and civilization”

“In the European continent,

several states and civilizations
grew tremendously over
centuries. Henry VII won the
war of the roses in England,
which led into what is known
the TUDOR DYNASTY, and
begun the development of the
ENGLISH NATION-STATE.”

“In Spain, in the year 1492,

Spanish monarch Ferdinand and
Isabella took Spain back from
the Muslim. In France, LOUIS
XIV created an absolute
monarchy. France become the
dominant power in Europe. The
french revolution broke out, it
created the modern french
nation-state. In 1914, when
various nation states stated to
claim their powers and
superiority over all the nations
in the world, the world war 1
begun until 1918.”
“it was a sad moment for us sir”
“In 1919, treaty of Versailles
ended the world war 1. It
divided several multinational
empires that led to the creation
of new nation states. The treaty
of Versailles created nine new
nations; Finland, Austria,
Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia,
Poland, Lithuania, Latvia,
Estonia, and Hungary.”

“In 1939, the World war 2

started until 1945. Hitlers
invasion of Poland in September
1939 drove Great Britain and
France to declare war on
Germany, marking the
beginning of World War 2. The
end of world war 2 led to the
formations of United Nations in
1945. The UN is an
international organization
formed by 51 countries. Its
purpose is to maintain peace and
security, developing friendly
relations among nations and
promoting social progress,
better living standards and
human rights. These are the
members of UN.”
“Sir were glad that UN was formed
to maintain peace around the
world.”
“that's correct, this is why the
State of the people or the
Democratic state are becoming
more active in their government.
After the two world wars,
people become the source of
political power and government
rules. Democratization is the
transition to a more democratic
political regime. It maybe the
transition from an authoritarian
regime to a full democracy.
Moreover, democracy is a form
of government where the
citizens of the nation have the
power to vote.”
