Lab 03

The document is a lab report for a digital logic design course. It details an experiment to verify De Morgan's theorems and the Boolean theorem that X + XY = X using logic simulation software. The report documents the objectives, theoretical background, simulation circuits built, results obtained, and answers to questions regarding the experiment.

De Morgan’s Theorems

Proof of equation (1)

Using Logic Works construct the two circuits given in Figs.1(a) and 2(a) corresponding to the functions
(A+B)’ and (A’. B’), (AB)’ and (A’+B’) respectively.  Show that for all combinations of A and B, the
two circuits give identical results.

Proof of equation (2)

Using Logic Works construct two circuits given in Figs. 5 and 6, corresponding to the functions (A’+B’)
and (A.B)’  respectively. Show that, for all combinations of A and B, the two circuits give identical
results. In the lab connect these circuits and verify their operations.
Boolean theorem:
Rules that can be applied to Boolean algebra to simplify logic expressions. There are 15 Boolean
theorems in Boolean algebra. Here we implement theorem 14.
