going around and participated in all station games on a rotation basis. Below is an overview
of how the station game works:
(I) Musical Chair: Music will be played and pupils will be walking around the chairs arranged
in a circle. Once the music is stopped, pupils must find for a seat to sit. If they do not
manage to find a seat, they will be asked a riddle or given a tongue twister challenge.
(II) Blindfold Walk: Wooden blocks with various images are scattered all over at an open
space. One pupil from the team will be blindfolded. The facilitator will name one of the
images on the wooden block. The other team members have to give instruction such as "go
straight, turn right, turn left, come behind, sit down and take". The pupils who is blindfolded
has to listen to the instruction carefully and bring the specific wooden block back to the
facilitators.
(III) Puppet Show: The scripts for the puppet show or lyrics for nursery rhyme will be given to
the pupils. Pupils will be given some time to read the script and understand them. Then,
pupils will be coming forward to choose their puppets and stand at the back of the television
to perform their puppet show.
(IV) 2 Pictures 1 Word: In this station, the facilitators will be sticking two images that depicts
a compound word on a cardboard. Pupils will be given letter cards. Pupils will have to
discuss with their teammates and find out the word that depicts the images. Example of
words include rainbow, hamburger, sunglass, sunlight, popcorn, football, and butterfly.
(V) Crossword Puzzle: Pupils will be given a set of clues. Upon reading the clues and finding
for the clues, pupils will need to take the letter cards and stick them on the crossword puzzle
accordingly. Pupils who solve at least 5 clues and stick the letter cards accordingly will be
given sweets.
(VI) Snake and Ladder: Pupils will be given choice to roll the dice or play "rock paper
scissors" to determine who is going to play first. Upon determining the turns, pupils will roll
dice and move on the human-scale snake and ladder board. If pupils stand on a box with
yellow sticker, pupils will be asked a riddle.
On Wednesday, there was an opening ceremony for Highly Immersive Programme 2022 at

the school hall. The opening ceremony was held from 2.30-3.00 p.m. The remaining half an
hour during co-curriculum was utilised for a treasure hunt activity. Year 4,5 and 6 pupils were
given a map to go around the school, participate in various games in order to receive a letter
card to form the word "stone". Briefly, there were 5 games for pupils to play to receive the
letters "S", "T", "O", "N" and "E". On Thursday which was the last day of Highly Immersive
Programme 2022, there was a closing ceremony where pupils were given gifts and
certificates.
REFLECTION
Strengths:
(i) Clear communication: Year 6 pupils, the facilitators understood how the station games
work clearly, thus, they were able to run the show confidently.
(ii) Proactive decision making: We were able to make proactive decisions like amending the
rules of the game and making the situation livelier in order to rectify the slips and to make
the programme more vibrant in general.
(iii) Cooperative facilitators: Facilitators (Year 6 pupils) who were assigned to bring Year 3
and Year 4 pupils too all stations on rotation basis understood how it works and brought the
pupils to all the stations without any clashes. That was one of the main reason why the
programme went smoothly.
(iv) Helpful teachers and school administration: The school administration took a proactive
decision and gave us a siren to indicate that pupils need to move to the next station.
Consequently, we did not have to run from one point to another to inform the facilitators. The
teachers too took the initiative to prepare things needed for games during the treasure hunt.
They participated actively which made the situation more vibrant.
Weaknesses:
(i) Time management: The opening ceremony could not be started on time since the time
limit allocated for preparation of the ceremony was not obeyed.
(ii) Lack of time for preparation: Due to lack of time for preparation for Highly Immersive
Programme 2022, we had to do some last-minute preparations for station games, treasure
hunt game, and indeed for opening and closing ceremony. Specifically, since we did not

have much time, the montage that we presented during the closing ceremony was not the
best that we could give.
(iii) Aligning activities to pupils' interest and language level: The scripts prepared for pupils to
read out in the puppet show station were not appropriate. This is because some of the
scripts were too long for pupils to read and perform in 10 minutes time, and some were not
pitched at pupils' level. It was too hard for them to comprehend. Hence why most of the
pupils preferred to sing nursery rhyme rather than choosing the scripts.
(ii) Consider pupils' interest and language level: Think of current trends and infuse the
elements into the games and prepare activities that aligns with pupils' language level in
order to motivate them.
(iii) Have an alternative plan: Think of alternative plans for venues especially, considering
that weather is an external and uncontrollable factor.
