STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION AND FAMILY BACKGROUND

The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page. These words by
Chantal Mitchell have inspired me a lot and have made me believe that studying
abroad is really worthy part of life. I feel elated to share about myself. I would like to
introduce myself as Miss. Aayusha Chaulagain, a young energetic, determined and
proud Nepali citizen seeking for a drastic change in my future career by obtaining
quality education from Canterbury Christ Church University. I am planning to study
BSc Plant science for September 2023 intake. Through this writing, I would like to
clarify why I chose the UK rather than other countries, including my home country
itself, and reasons to choose the specified course and college and many other things
in this statement of purpose.

I was born on 14th August, 2002 to Mr. Dipak Prasad Chaulagain and Mrs. Ranjana
Chaulagain. I am permanent resident of Hatiya, Makwanpur, Nepal. My family has
always been supportive to me in every step of my life. I have keen interest on
theoretical and practical knowledge in agriculture industry. I also aspire to learn
more and more about emerging trends of agricultural industry that will play crucial
role in leading my future to the peak of success. I am overwhelmed and will be
grateful to you to receive the opportunity to study in the UK and become part of
University of Greenwich family.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Education is my first priority and I have always had a good academic record in all
level since my School where I studied for 10 years. From this school I completed my
Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in 2018 A. D. securing 3.05 GPA. I pursued
Diploma in Agriculture equivalent to higher secondary studies from a renowned
college named Janpriya Secondary School, Chisapani, Makwanpur, Nepal and
completed the course with 74.39% in 2022 A.D.

REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE UK

There are many reasons behind choosing the UK for higher study. High quality
education is the most important one. According to the research, four of the global top
ten universities lie in the UK. They offer the wide variety of courses for international
students to choose from whatever your age, ability or interest. The pedagogy the
world's leading academics and experts use to teach the students gives you the
freedom to be creative and develop skill sets and confidence. Hence, a degree in the
UK takes less time to complete than in other countries; three years for an
undergraduate degree and then one extra to complete a postgraduate qualification
(unless you are a medical or research student). Multiculturalism of the UK helps you
mix with people from around the world and learn so much more than just what you
are studying on your degree. In fact, the UK is the second most popular destination
for overseas students in the world. Generally, the UK government allow an
international student work up to 20 hours a week during term-time, and ten hours
when school is out. The UK Government also offers a post-study visa  for a further
two years. Furthermore, living costs in the UK are reasonable.

REASONS FOR DISCARDING NEPAL

It is true that there are lots of colleges and universities which offer a lot of courses as
per the students' interests. Like the students from science can choose different fields
of either engineering or medicine or IT sector. The first thing that distracted me to
study here was the traditional education system which is the same old system. The
Government of Nepal focuses on increasing the number of universities and colleges
but focuses less on quality and improvement. Second, the college education system
has failed to meet the demand of the current and future market. Also, as the course
taught here do not provide the right skills and are mostly focused on theoretical
knowledge, there is lack of skilled manpower in the related field. Third, I want to
acquire a high paying job or run a big hotel and hospitality business in Nepal. Most of
the people of my generation have this goal but the companies here prefer skills more
than the degree. Though, tuition fees in Nepal are inexpensive in comparison to
UK, but I feel the quality of education matters more than anything else. By studying
here in Nepal, I may achieve a degree but I doubt of gaining an international
recognition and I will be far from holding international exposure. After careful
consideration, it has become clear to me that developing a career in the Business
and Management sector requires advanced training and knowledge in the related
subjects. Therefore, I chose the UK over Nepal.

intensive knowledge. There are many Business Managements sectors where students
in this field can easily find a job. The proposed program provides a global perspective
on Management and provides students with the skills they need to begin their careers

Business management is that there is a tremendous range in this area in the context
of Nepal, as so many institutions, hotels, restaurants, cafes, travel companies etc.
have been established. Therefore, this qualification provides me with a rewarding
career in Nepal.

understanding your core business strategies and how to apply them to your business
environment. Through this program, you will gain in-depth skills and experience to
help you begin your professional career in a modern business environment. After
