STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am Vatanjeet Kaur; holder of an Indian Passport Number N0888219. I am hereby writing this
statement in the support of my admission for the course “MA Business and Management” at “Bath Spa
University”, Newton Park campus, United Kingdom.

I am a married applicant and my husband’s name is Mr. Sukhbir Singh and I am living with my in-laws
family at Vill Rauwal, PO. Dinanagar, Teh & Distt Gurdaspur, PIN 143531, Punjab, India.

Academic History:

As per my previous qualifications I completed my Secondary education from PSEB in 2009 by scoring
69.8% marks. After that I did my senior secondary education from the same board by selecting Science
discipline in 2011 with 74.9% marks. After that, I decided to study Bachelor of Science from Guru Nanak
Dev University in the year 2014 and I passed with 54.29% marks. After the completion of my bachelor
degree, I did Bachelor of Education from the same University in 2015 and I obtained 54% marks.

Work Experience:

I am working as a “Math’s Teacher” at “D.R. Puri Mem. Public School” from 2nd December, 2015 to the
till date.

English Proficiency test:

I gave IELTS Exam on 9th July, 2022 and I scored Overall 6.0 Bands (Listening = 6.5, Reading = 6.0,
Writing = 6.0, Speaking = 6.0)

Reasons for not choosing India for my further study:

There are multifarious reasons why I did not select my own country India for my further study. First of
all, as per my research, there are very limited seats available over unlimited number of applicants so it is
extremely difficult for scholars to get enroll in top colleges and Universities because some Colleges and
Universities conduct multiple entrance tests prior to the admission, so this whole the process takes very
a long time period to complete. And I do not want to delay more in my further studies so that is why I
dropped the plan to study in my own country. Another reason for not choosing my own country for my
higher study is the difference between studying in India and study in abroad. As, the countries like UK,
USA, CANADA are providing world widely recognized degree which are highly accredited. This further
ensures the job prospects for the students that mean an overseas degree will boost up job opportunities
for me. So that’s why I did not select my own country for further study. Besides this, there is very less
number of programs are available in my home country so pupils are unable to select their demandable
course. As I checked about further course options for me and that were very limited; in India I can study,
Master of Arts in English, Master of Science in Mathematics, Master of Computer Applications and some
others. However, international educational institutes offers variety of course options so by searching this
all the points, I decide to do my higher studies at other nation rather than India.
WHY I select United Kingdom:

After researching about my own country, I started searching for the best study destination for me and
throughout my research, I came across some most popular study destinations among international
students like Canada, Australia, UK and USA but I finalize United Kingdom which is the best country for
higher studies. The first reason is that, UK has top ranked Universities from all over the world which
gives good quality education system to the scholars. Also there is multifarious of educational programs
that are available in UK Universities due to which students can easily choose any course according to
their studies as well as choice. In addition to this, UK is well known for its multicultural society, they
warmly welcome people from different countries having different cultures and regions. So during my
study I will get chance to meet with new people from all over the world and will get to know about their
culture, lifestyle and religious. This will also enhance my communication skills and will boost up my
confidence level.

Moreover, UK degrees and qualifications are world widely recognized which means after the completion
of my degree there would be a lot of job facilities available for me both national and global level.
Another reason is that, UK educational institute are advanced as well as uses modern styles of teaching
which increase the interest of applicants and help them to study their selected course in more depth. So
during my selected course in United Kingdom, I will be taught with modern techniques which will
include practical training, theoretical study, examinations and other methods. In addition to this, the
Universities of UK gives chance to students to get engaged in research area and this also attracted me
towards UK as I will get opportunity to do some research work. This will enable me to grab some
practical knowledge, international experience and exposure. So after considering all these benefits, I
choose to do my study in United Kingdom.

Why I selected Bath Spa University:

After selecting UK, I finalize to continue my higher education from Bath Spa University which is a public
university located in England with its campuses in Bath and in London as well. My preferred Location is
Newton Park which is in the city of Bath because it is located in outer London at a vibrant location and
the address is Newton Park, Newton St Loe, Bath BA2 9BN. I selected to study at this campus because it
has some beautiful natural wonders including a beautiful lake and a castle as well; as the campus is in
outer London and is away from the main the buzz of the main city centre Bath. So my selected campus is
very interesting and calm place to study with modern buildings, technology-enabled study space; social
learning space; bookable group working rooms; a café and other facilities. I selected this university
because it is well known for its academic standards as professors and tutors are well educated and
highly experienced. During my study at Bath Spa University, I will be learning from some of the real life
industry leaders who are expert of their fields.

In addition to this, this University has good reputation rankings which insisted me to select this
particular university. At National level, my selected University has secured its place at 105th position by
“Complete University Guide 2023” and the University has ranked 109th according to “Guardian
University Guide 2022”. According to the "Good University Guide 2022" my selected University comes
at 104th place. So, all these rankings and academic standard help me to select this university. Moreover,
this university has variety of course options for under graduate and post graduate students. I have also
checked the post graduate list of Bath Spa University and was amazed to see multiple course options. So
by considering all of the above, I selected to study at Bath Spa University.

Why I selected MA Business and Management:

After selecting University, I searched various programs for me. So after a brief research that, I continue
my education in MA Business and Management. The first and foremost point is that I choose this course
due to my personal choice as I want to start up my career in business field because it is a fast growing
sectors which means uncountable job opportunities for me. Before finalizing this course, I checked for
career prospects of this course and got to know that business and management industry is offering
uncountable jobs with good salary packages, as there is very high demand of business and management
graduates in today’s competitive world which will accelerate in the near future. So my selected course
will secure my future career with uncountable career opportunities.

Besides this, I want to grow more in my professional life which is another reason for choosing this
course. Actually, I am working as a Teacher in a private school near to my locality and I am working at
same designation from almost 7 years. Throughout my working period, I have gained many experienced
and learned many new skills but my knowledge is still limited and I am confined to a private school. So
now I have planned to get my master degree in business and management so that I can launch my
career in the business industry. This will help me to grow personally and professionally. My selected
course will help me to acquire both academic skills and practical management skills which will be helpful
in my future career. In addition to this, I will develop all necessary skills which will increase the
employability in different sectors such as financial, marketing, international business and many others.

In my selected course, I will be studying below listed core modules:-

Marketing Management, Financial and Management Accounting, Managing People, Governance, Ethics
and Risk Management, Dissertation/Consultancy Project, Research Methods, Digital Marketing, Fashion
Marketing, Sustainability

My selected course will include some optional modules that I will select upon my course registration.

Career prospects:

After the successful completion of my graduation, there would be a lot of job opportunities for me or I
will be able to start up my own business. So after completing my higher studies from United Kingdom, I
will come back to India as my family is living here and I will start up my professional life here in India. In
India there are various multinational companies where I will do work as; data analyst, management
consultant, project manager, supply chain manager, business adviser, chartered management
accountant, corporate investment banker, and many others.
