situation or environment
and the circumstances in
which the communication
occurs. It is the way that
people use to communicate
and transmit messages.

This refers to a communication that is focused


on one person, where the speaker acts both as
the sender and receiver of the message.
The message of made up of thoughts and
feelings.
The channel is the brain that processes what
you think and feel.

Examples:
- meditation
- reflecting and analyzing something
- thinking of surprising someone
- speaking aloud, reading aloud
- making gestures while thinking
- writing one’s thoughts or observations

This refers to a communication that takes place


between and among people and creates a
personal relationship between and among them.
Inter and personal have their own meaning that
are related to the word Interpersonal. (Solomon
and Thesis, 2013)
Types of Interpersonal Communication
- Dyad Communication
- Small Group

Dyad Communication
- communication that happens between two people
- direct and vocal
- gives immediate response
- Examples:
 A husband and wife
 A parent and child
 An interviewer and interviewee

Small Group
- communication that involves at least three but not
more than 12 people interacting with one another.
- all participants can freely share ideas in a loose
and open discussion.
- Examples:
 Group meetings
 Brainstorming

This refers to a communication that requires you


to deliver or send the message before or in front
of a group.
The message can be transmitted for informative
or persuasive purposes.
It is the heart of economy, society, and politics

 Graduation speech
 Teleconference involving a number of people
 Public service announcements
 Declamation or debate contest

This refers to a communication through


television, radio, newspaper, magazines, books,
billboards, internet, and other types of media.
The mediator transmits information to a large
audience.
Examples:
 Articles (news, editorial, entertainment, etc.)
 State of the Nation Address
 Websites
