DISTRICT SEARCH FOR BEST IMPLEMENTING SCHOOLS OF READING


INSTRUCTION AND INTERVENTIONS

To: Elementary / Secondary School Heads

1. As stipulated in Division Memorandum No. 23, s. 2022 dated May 23, 2022, this
office announces the conduct of the 2022 District Search for Best Implementing
Schools of Reading Instruction and Intervention on July 4-8,2022.

2. The search is Part of the Rewards and Recognition (R & R) component of the
Division Project Re-READS 2.0 (Reading Remediation and Enhancement through
Appropriate and Developmental Strategies), the flagship project of the Division on
Literacy, whic is also in consonance with the District Reading Program Project
AKLAT.

3. Public Elementary and Junior High Schools that meet the minimum requirements
contained in Enclosure No. 2 of Division Memorandum No. 23, s. 2022 are eligible
to join the following contest categories.

Category A Elementary Level (Grades 1-6)


Category B Junior High School (Grades 7-10)
B.1 Small School Category – 9 and below
B.2 Medium School Category – 10- 29
B.3 Large School Category – 30 - 50
B.4 Mega School Category – 51 and above

4. The District Level and Legislative District Level shall be conducted on the following
schedules:

5. Only the Champion in each category shall advance to the Legislative District Level.
6. The school head of the school-nominee shall submit to the Contest Committee a duly
signed Confirmation of Authenticity and Accuracy of their School Reading Profile
and all the facts contained in their nomination papers.

7. The District Reading Committee (DRC) chaired by the PSDS/DIC shall validate the
School Reading Profile and Phil-IRI post-test results of all schools in their respective
jurisdiction on June 13-17,2022. A sub-committee may be organized to assist the
DRC during the validation. Certification shall be issued by the Committee,
indicating therein that the nominee does not have non-readers for the current school
year.
