Fujitsu and our Oracle Partnership Overview

Fujitsu & Oracle Partnership

 Fujitsu and Oracle have a rich 30+ year

history of strategic and close collaboration
 Fujitsu is a strategic, global Oracle partner with over 60 Oracle
specializations
 Fujitsu and Oracle announced Cloud Collaboration in
Japan (Oracle Cloud running in Fujitsu data center) – no other
partner has this
 Fujitsu is one of four elite Oracle Global MSP Partners out of
Oracle’s 25,000 OPN partners and 55 MSP partners.
 Global Delivery Model supported by offices in the US, Canada,
Europe, Japan, and India
 Fujitsu worldwide Oracle professionals hold 6500+ certifications
Oracle Analytics Cloud Services(OACS):
An Overview
OACS is offered in two packages:

• OACS Standard: Adequate for departmental data visualization and analytics. It includes:

– Data Visualization Cloud Services

– EssBase Cloud standard
– Data Visualization Desktop

• OACS Enterprise: Suitable for enterprise reporting, business modelling and data visualization across an enterprise.
OAC Enterprise includes all what we get with OAC standard, plus the following:

– Business Intelligence Cloud service (BICS)

– EssBase Cloud enterprise
– Mobile App
OAC Services on Cloud
• The BIAPPS on PAAS primarily consists of 4 services –

– DBCS (Database Cloud Service)

– Compute Cloud Service (Block Storage)

– OAC (Oracle Analytics Cloud) or BICS (Business Intelligence Cloud Service)

– Storage CS (Storage Cloud Service)

• OAC can pull data from other cloud source applications or from other on-prem sources:

– Data is pulled from Oracle Cloud Source Applications like Cloud ERP and Taleo via https.

– Data from On-Prem sources can be pulled via a VPN connection or pushed by using a replication tool like Data Sync over a
SSH tunnel.
Analytics Cloud Use Cases
• Business Use Cases:

– We can consolidate reports from different source systems and bring these to a centralized repository. This helps for better
data visibility.

– Compare to an on-premise analytics solution, OACS reports are easily accessible from different media like Mobile, tablet,
laptops etc.

– Only the metadata needs to be in cloud. The source data can be maintained on-premise. This approach will also save the
company for additional cost

– The resources allocated to your servers are Elastic. for example if you will be requiring more power during month end
processes you get charged only for the hours/months were you go over the pre-planned capacity allocated to your OAC.
Analytics Cloud Use Cases
• Technical Use Cases:

– Easy to develop with Cloud Data Modeler

– Easy to provision, roll out, LCM

– Enable self-service on existing applications

– Lift and shift OBIEE RPD to Cloud

– OACS supports VPN to access on premise source databases.

– With OAC, subscribers control when to apply updates and patches

Note: RPD - The Oracle Business Intelligence RPD is a file with the extension “.rpd,” which contains data definitions and business rules known as
“metadata.”
What does OACS Suite Offers
• Oracle Data Visualization Cloud Service (DVCS)

• Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS)

• Oracle EssBase

• Oracle Smartview

• Oracle Day by Day Mobile App

On Premise Analytics Vs. OACS
Architecture
On Premise Analytics Architecture OACS Architecture
OACS Benefits
• Advanced analytical functions such as clustering, forecasting, outlier detections

• Adapters to connect directly to EssBase cloud service cubes or EssBase on-Premise cubes

• Data Source adapters for loading data from various sources (Such as Salesforce, Oracle Service Cloud ,
Amazon Redshift, IBM Informix, MongoDB , Big Data Technologies like hive etc.)

• Dataflow – ETL like mappings from one or more sources into target structures that are optimized for reporting. So
dataflow can include joins between multiple source tables/files, filters and aggregation

• Oracle BI HD App for dashboards and offline viewing, Synopsis App for direct analytics on spreadsheets, and
mobile browser against DVCS.

• The Day by Day app integrates with OACS and learns based on your usage patterns. For instance, it provides
analytics in context specific to your contacts or based on your location
Hybrid Architecture for OACS
Note: If a Customer has license of OBIA then there is prebuilt RPD, Reports/dashboards, Data Warehouse and
ODI/ETL
Hybrid Architecture highlights
• Source Systems like EBS/PSFT remains on premise

• ETL/DWH also remains on premise

• Data remains in Customer control

• RPD is hosted on Cloud

• Analytics, Reporting and Visualization services are hosted on Cloud

• Customer pays only for the Analytics compute usage

Connectivity to On Premise Sources –
3 Options
• Accessing On Premise via VPN :
– Establish a VPN connection between the Oracle Analytical Cloud and the On-Premise source allowing a two way
communication

• Remote Data Connector (RDC):

– RDC enables querying data residing in on-premises relational sources without moving data to cloud.
– RDC enables a secure connection to on premise data sources for analysis and visualization.
– RDC utilizes the BI Server Data Gateway running in the OACS environment to provide secure access to on-prem data
using private/public key pairs and SSL communication.
– It offers a hybrid approach to transitioning to a cloud-based analytics environment without migrate the entire on-prem data
environment

• Data Sync :
– Data Sync supports loading data from files, on premise and cloud sources into schema provisioned on OAC.
It is not applicable for hybrid solution
OACS using RDC
FAQ..
• Can OACs works properly with VPN to access on premises resources ?

Answer: OACS remote connectivity can be established thought the VPN

• Shall OACS Meta Data maintain in Cloud?

Answer: Yes Metadata maintained in cloud. We can keep the Database in on-Premise where we have full control on the data

• LDAP integration ?

Answer: OACS can integrate with LDAP in future releases (Single sign-on)

• BI Publisher ?

Answer: BI publisher is not available in OACS on current version. In future Oracle will release BI publisher. XML reports can be converted to OACS in future releases
through the converter utility

• Performance ?

Answer: If the database is on-Premise there will be some data latency issue on drill down functionality from OACS to Oracle database. The data Latency can be
minimize further by fine tuning the RPD and OACS Components

• Is there any adapter for EBS/PeopleSoft available on OAC?

Answer: Oracle hasn’t explicitly published availability of EBS/PeopleSoft adapters for OAC yet. However, Technically if a Customer has license of OBIA then there is
prebuilt RPD, Reports/dashboards, Data Warehouse and ODI/ Informatica (ETL tool) can be used in Oracle Analytical cloud service*.

* Subject to confirmation from Oracle and PoC validation
