Standard Quality

Commercial Quality
Density/ m2 (Kg/ Sq.m) is reduced by upto 20% due to silent competition. Chinese/ Asian versions are supplied with upto 80% mixed recycled materials, displaying dark colors and improved hardness (develops cracking naturally). Non-UV coating grades offered. Mostly UV stabilized grades used (stabilizers added at the time of resin compounding) and no external coating made. Metal frame spacing not followed due to low structure cost & competition pressure. Rafter & Purlin sections are used as per customers interest (being pocket friendly maintaining low structure cost). Sheets placed/ fixed either way to the span to reduce the cost/ wastage. Few profiles skipped and even design is changed for low-cost orientation.

Sheets as per International designed standards Density/ m2 (Kg/ Sq.m) offered. European/ American standard PC sheets offered with quality material used for maximum lighttransmission & flexibility of ease in design. PC sheets with co-extruded ultra-violet resistant coating of 40-50 microns done on single/ both sides against direct sunlight UV rays are offered. PC Resins are UV stabilized (by default). Recommended spacing followed against self-load & Polycarbonate sheets with connection elements controlling sagging of sheets and thereby leakage. Rafter - Equivalent to that of aluminium bottom/ bigger widths are used with above average wallthickness of section. Multi-wall Polycarbonate (hollow profile) sheets are placed/ fixed parallel to the span. Aluminium extruded profiles in complete set (bottom, top, side & cap) with alu. profile width and sheet thickness compatibility ratio used for maximum overlapping of sheets, thereby resulting in strong gripping/ holding.

Standard Quality
6063-T5 & T6 aluminium grades perform excellent, also displaying fine surface finish for powdercoating/ anodizing and everlasting performance. Also eliminates the chance of profile breaking/ cracking At the time of cold bending/ curving. PC Connection profiles with 3-5 times overlapping of Covering/ sandwiching to that of Polycarbonate sheet thickness should be used.

Commercial Quality
Commercially 6063-T4 aluminium or even cheap alloy grades with high carbon contents used. Aluminium Surface Coating not withstands and also the chance of profile fracture is frequent, being higher hardness of material. Protection with PC Connection profiles is also not at all suitable being replacement to aluminium connection profiles, as it requires very close rafter & purlin spacing, which thereby increases the structure cost. Polycarbonate sheets are drilled & fixed with capscrew due to single long span (to save sagging) and To save the cost of connection profiles. No orientation for Polycarbonate sheets followed (due to utilization of any wastage part & maintaining low structure cost. Un-cured (Non-UV) EPDM rubber profiles used which dis-integrates (develops cracking) with short aging and water contact in very short span of time and create voids for leakage. Commercially breather tape not used. Commercially Aluminium tape is not ever used. Non-UV & un-tested rubber washers are used.

9. Fixing Method

Polycarbonate sheets are sandwiched between Alu. connection profiles (top & bottom) without any penetration/ drilling into its panels. Polycarbonate sheets are placed parallel to the span with hollow flutes positioned in the fall direction. Always UV-cured EPDM rubber used against sunlight UV rays and direct water contact.

Used for side sealing from the closed side of sheets. Used for anti-condensation, to avoid any hazing in the hollow flutes and to maintain light transmission intact. UV-cured EPDM rubber bonded washers are used.

Standard Quality
Tested & anti-corrosive plated hex head SDS fasteners used for ease of fixing, maximum strength and longevity. Branded Silicone sealants 900 series for maximum elongation and expansion used between gaps of Aluminium connection profiles, joints & EPDM rubber gasket. U profile aluminium/ polycarbonate sections are used/ fixed to cover open hollow flutes in polycarbonate sheets Against capillary action of water, oil canning, dirt, insects resulting in loss of light transmission and thermal loss. The standard imported Alu. Joining sections are fixed for different thickness or can be changed with fixed wall ht. The pressure over the sheets between the Alu. profiles is uniform and constant throughout the connection on both sides.

Commercial Quality
Any available cheap fasteners used without any anti-corrosive treatment. Un-branded & inferior quality Silicone sealants used with comparative very low elongation & short life.

Sometimes un-matched U-profiles used by drilling on sheet borders and resulting in the unwanted results.

18. Alu. Section Sandwiching

Available commercial profiles are inter-changeable & thereby create problem for holding pressure with Polycarbonate sheets. The pressure is non-uniform due to lose aluminium profiles fixed manually and thereby cracking the sheets on both sides of the Alu. Profile.

19. Sandwiching Pressure

The fixing method of plain multi-wall/ solid flat polycarbonate sheets is same and the elements of wet joining system differ slightly and can be checked, once in demand.

Things to Remember
Thermal expansion of the Polycarbonate sheets in length & width to be taken care of. Keeping appropriate SDS/ fastener spacing so as to control the gripping of Polycarbonate sheets. EPDM rubber gaskets should be properly aligned in the respective grooves. Cold-bending of Polycarbonate sheets should not exceed the limits. Aluminium joining profiles should not be fixed with pressure, which may result in cracking the sheets at its ends. Tested SDS hardware should be used for connection safety.

Weaknesses

The structure cannot be used as temporary part or reused. Cannot be offered as 100% water leak-proof system. Good quality connection profiles, accessories are not easily available. Water leakage is a big problem. Maintenance due to poor fixing & sub-standard quality costs upto half of the system cost, and may demand full change-over, at times. The elements of joining method are too much to pair-up that any poor performed element can disturb the orientation. Engineering is over-ruled. Skilled labour for quality job is not paid for. Full connection system requires a lengthy installation time with a scope of misalignment. Quality work missing. Un-skilled worker independently offers services of fixing & installation with no educative supervision.

Known Facts
First approach of the customer is to compare the price of Polycarbonate sheet with any alternate Complete Polycarbonate system. The chances of water leakage in the Wet connection joining system are much high due to numberless additions and joints all over. The cost of standard polycarbonate sheets with Wet connection joining system accessories costs more than any alternate Modular Polycarbonate Panel Inter-locking System.
