Details of the task Specific Tasks

This assignment is in the form of a 2000-word individual Open Book, Case Study Report based on the same firm
used for the presentation.

The purpose of this coursework is to use relevant Excel templates to conduct event studies to test market
efficiency. This is to be based on the same one firm you selected for your presentation coursework. Based on
the result of event studies, determine trading strategies and instruments to be applied to exploit price
efficiency/inefficiency to arrive at appropriate conclusion and recommendations for investment in your chosen
firm.

• Critically analyse the Efficient market Hypothesis (EMH) and its relevance as they relate to your firm (20%).

• Conduct event analysis to test EMH. An event analysis template is provided separately based on contents of
Chapter 14 Benninga (2014) ‘Financial Modeling (4th edition)’ (30%).

• You are required to demonstrate trading strategies and instruments that would be appropriate for exploiting
price efficiency/inefficiency during the global pandemic. Your analysis should forecast possible trading profits
from investing in the firm, going forward until an approximate cut-off date (30%).

• Conclusion and Recommendation. Conclude your analysis based on the above and recommend appropriate
courses of action for trading and investment (10%).

• Presentation, Originality and Referencing. The general presentation of your report, the degree of initiative
taken and the quality and quantity of referencing (10%).
