LCT OPERATION OMN

If you click OK, the Signal Label (Log) window appears; do the
following
• Click Exit to close the log and return to the Signal Label dialog
box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.12 Alarm Cut Off

The Alarm Cut Off command allows you to silence the audible alarm
and to indicate to the monitoring center that you are aware of the alarm
condition. The Alarm Cut Off command in LCT functions the same as
the ACO push-button on the front panel of the NE. The Alarm Cut Off
command allows you to silence the alarm from a remote location.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Alarm Cut Off. A confirmation message
box appears. If a new alarm is detected, the audible alarm will sound
again.

2. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.13 Loopback

The Loopback commands allow you to display a list of the active


loopbacks and to operate a loopback.
The following Loopback commands are available:
• Change Maintenance State
• Operate Loopback
• Display Loopback State

1.7.13.1 Change Maintenance State


The Change Maintenance State command allows you to display and
change the maintenance state for a facility loopback.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Loopback -> Change Maintenance
State. The selectable unit(s) are displayed with a Unit Selector.

2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Change Maintenance State dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
4. Select the desired AID Type, as needed.
5. Select the desired Access ID, as needed.
6. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Change Maintenance State dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.13.2 Operate Loopback


The Operate Loopback command allows you to test the transmit and
receive capabilities of a selected unit.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Loopback -> Operate Loopback. The
selectable unit(s) are displayed with a Unit Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Operate Loopback dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
4. Select the desired AID Type, as needed.
5. Select the desired Access ID, as needed.

6. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT


display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Operate Loopback dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.13.3 Display Loopback State


The Display Loopback State command allows you to display the
loopbacks that are active in the system.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Loopback -> Display Loopback State.
The selectable unit(s) are displayed with a Unit Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Display Loopback State (Log) window appears.
3. Click Exit to close the log and return to the main LCT display
Note: If there is no active card, the following dialog box appears.

1.7.14 Protection Switch

The Protection Switch commands allow you to display the switch


status and to operate a protection switch.
The following Protection Switch commands are available:
• Operate Protection Switch
• Operate Sync Switch
• Display Protection Switch State

1.7.14.1 Operate Protection Switch


The Operate Protection Switch command allows you to switch the
protection settings for the selected unit. The Operate Protection
Switch command allows you to operate or release protection settings
for maintenance purposes.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Protection Switch -> Operate
Protection Switch. The selectable unit(s) are displayed with a Unit
Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Operate Protection Switch dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
4. Select the Access ID, as needed.
5. Select the appropriate Switch Control for the unit and signal type.
6. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Operate Protection Switch dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.14.2 Operate Sync Switch


The Operate Sync Switch command allows you to switch between the
available clock references (first priority, second priority, third priority, and
internal clock source or holdover mode).
1. Choose Status/Control -> Protection Switch -> Operate Sync
Switch. The Operate Sync Switch dialog box appears.

2. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
3. Select the Timing Control Type, as needed.
4. To specify how maintenance personnel set or control
synchronization switching, select the Switch To option.
5. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.

If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:


• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Operate Sync Switch dialog box.

1.7.14.3 Display Protection Switch State


The Display Protection Switch State command allows you to display
the status of all protection switches.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Protection Switch -> Display
Protection Switch State. The Display Protection Switch State (Log)
window appears.
2. Click Exit to close the log and return to the main LCT display.
Notes:
• If no protection switches are active, a message box appears:
“Protection Switch Status Log: No Active Cards.” Click OK to close
the message window.
• If protection switches are active, the Display Protection Switch
Status Log window appears.

1.7.15 Maintenance Radio Interface

The Maintenance Radio Interface commands allow you to monitor and


maintain the radio interface.
The following Maintenance Radio Interface commands are available:
• Change Maintenance State
• Radio Physical Interface
• RSPI Adjustment
• Maintenance for SD
• Maintenance for Co-Channel
• Dade Adjustment
• Display Maintenance State
• Transmit Power Adjustment

1.7.15.1 Change Maintenance State


The Change Maintenance State command allows you to display and
change the maintenance state for Radio Interface.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface ->
Change Maintenance State. The selectable unit(s) are displayed
with a Unit Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Change Maintenance State dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
4. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Change Maintenance State dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.15.2 Radio Physical Interface


The Radio Physical Interface command allows you to set the operation
for the radio interface.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface -> Radio
Physical Interface. The Radio Physical Interface dialog box
appears.

2. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
3. Select the appropriate Item for the unit and signal type.
4. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Radio Physical Interface dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.15.3 RSPI Adjustment


The RSPI Adjustment command allows you to adjust the radio physical
interface power and gain.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface -> RSPI
Adjustment.
The selectable unit(s) are displayed with a Unit Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
RSPI Adjustment dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.

4. Select the appropriate setting for the parameters listed below:


Adjustment Item: To select the radio section physical interface
power and gain control to operate.
UP/DOWN: To set the power adjustment to up or down mode.
Mode: To specify amount for UP/DOWN.
5. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the RSPI Adjustment dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.15.4 Maintenance for SD


The Maintenance for SD command allows you to operate the
maintenance command for the space diversity in the radio interface
section.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface ->
Maintenance for SD. The selectable unit(s) are displayed with a
Unit Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Maintenance for SD dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
4. To specify the operation for maintenance, select the Item.
5. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Maintenance for SD dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.15.5 Maintenance for Co-Channel


The Maintenance for Co-Channel command allows you to operate the
maintenance command for the co-channel in the radio interface section.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface ->
Maintenance for Co-Channel. The selectable unit(s) are displayed
with a Unit Selector.
2. Click a selectable unit(s), then click anywhere else on the shelf. The
Maintenance for Co-Channel dialog box appears.

3. Select the appropriate command in the Action Box, as needed.
4. To specify the operation for maintenance, select the Item.
5. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Maintenance for Co-Channel dialog
box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.15.6 Dade Adjustment


The Dade (Traffic Differential Absolute Delay) Adjustment command
allows you to detect and set the range of automatic phase adjustment
for MAIN and PROT in radio protection switching.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface -> Dade
Adjustment. The Dade Adjustment dialog box appears.

2. The default Item option is selected.


3. Click OK to continue or click Cancel to return to the main LCT
display.
If you click OK, a confirmation message appears; do the following:
• Click OK again, a “Completed” message box appears.
• Click OK to return to the Dade Adjustment dialog box.
• Click Cancel to return to the main LCT display.

1.7.15.7 Display Maintenance State


The Display Maintenance State command allows you to display
information about the Radio Physical Interface, such as the Access ID,
AID Type, Condition Type, Location, and Condition Description. This
command lists which channels are under switch control and what the
control types are.
1. Choose Status/Control -> Maintenance Radio Interface ->
Display Maintenance State. The Display Maintenance State (Log)
window appears.
2. Click Exit to close the log and return to the main LCT display.
Note: If no operations are available, the following dialog box will appear:
