NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT

1. All technical and commercial information, or information regarding models, procedures,


programs, computer applications, components, systems and tools contained in the
information presented is the property of THYSSENKRUPP ELEVATOR MANUFACTURING
SPAIN, S.L. and is deemed Classified Information, even if not expressly so stated,
whatever the storage medium employed.

2. The user undertakes and agrees to employ any Classified Information solely for issues
directly connected with the work entrusted to him/her by ThyssenKrupp. He/she may not
therefore employ Classified Information for the purpose of performing other tasks or
projects.

3. The user shall not disclose Classified Information to third parties for any reason or at any
time, even after conclusion of the work.

4. The user may grant access to Classified Information only to those ThyssenKrupp staff
members with a need to know in order to perform their own work, such individuals being
required to adopt the necessary measures in order to avoid disclosure to unauthorized
staff or third parties.

5. Disclosure of any Classified Information to the user does not imply any licence or
assignment of use, nor does it vest in the said party any corresponding industrial or
intellectual property rights.

1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The objective of this system is to perform the lift maintenance operations using a PC
which, via Bluetooth communication, connects to the specific interface of the unit we wish to
control.

This application, installed in any PC with Windows XP, aims to emulate the operation of
the POME tool in the CMC4 manoeuvre.

2. DESCRIPTION AND USE OF THE DEVICES

2.1. PC

The PC will have the following characteristics:

 Bluetooth.

Integrated in the computer or connected externally via USB-Bluetooth.

 Screen.

The application has been verified in screens with a resolution of between


1024x800 and 1280x1024.

 Operating system

Initially, the application will run on Windows XP and Windows 7 32 bits.

2.2. CMC4 INTERFACE

The connection interface has two DB9-type connectors. The male Sub-D connector will be
used to enable communication between the manoeuvre and the PC.

3. INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ON THE PC

3.1. PREREQUISITES

The DiagPC application requires the previous installation of NET Framework version 3.5
SP1. To this end, run the DotNetFx35Client.exe included in the installation CD, in the “Net
Framework” folder, and follow the instructions that appear on screen.

3.2. INSTALLING THE APPLICATION

First of all, ensure that the application is not already installed on the computer. If so,
uninstall it before continuing.

The steps to be followed are explained below in detail:

4. ESTABLISH THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION

In order for the application to work, the Bluetooth included in the CMC4 interface and on
the PC must be paired.

Pairing is managed from the Windows XP operating system, although in some cases, on
acquiring an external Bluetooth it may be accompanied by its own device management software.

The pairing process for Windows XP is explained below in detail, integrated in the
computer or connected externally via USB-Bluetooth. In order to carry out this pairing, you must
connect the CMC4 interface to the UCM board and activate the Bluetooth connection on your
computer.

1) Go to Start  Configuration  Control Panel  Bluetooth devices.


Click the Add button under the devices table.

importance to know this detail, because when the DiagPC application is
run for the first time this COM port number must be indicated.

If for any reason you need to recall the COM port for communication with the CMC4
interface, you will not need to pair the device again. Just go back to Start  Configuration 
Control Panel  Bluetooth Devices. Under the COM Ports tab, take note of the outgoing port
for the CMC Bluetooth link.

In the following example, the communication COM port would be 18.

5. GENERATING AND LOADING THE APPLICATION LICENCE.

5.1. CREATE FILE

With the objective of protecting the use of the DiagPC programme, in order to be able to
use the application you will need to obtain a use licence.

To obtain the licence, enter the required data in the window that appears the first time
the application is run.

Once you have entered the data, click the CREATE FILE button. Select where you would
like to save the file with extension *.tgp that will be generated.

Finally, send this file to [email protected], commercial


department, indicating DiagPC in the subject line.

Remember that you will not be able to use the application until you receive the licence
generated by ThyssenKrupp.

5.2. UPLOAD LICENSE

Once you have sent the file you generated in the previous step to ThyssenKrupp, you
should receive a reply e-mail with the application use licence.

In order to load the licence, run DiagPC again. In the “Software Licence” window, click on
UPLOAD LICENSE. Select the file containing the licence received from ThyssenKrupp.

If the correct file has not been loaded, the application will not start and a message such
as the following will appear:

Remember that the licence is for exclusive use with the computer that generated the file
and will be valid for six months. Specifically, the PDA will need two keys over a year (one per
each semester).

When the licence is due to expire within less than thirty days, whenever you use the
DiagPC application a message informing you of the number of use days left will appear.

Once the six-month validity period has elapsed, the “Software Licence” window will re-
appear. Click Upload Licence and select the new file with the licence that you should have
received.

6. DIAGPC APPLICATION

6.1. Adjustments WINDOW.

When the programme starts, the PC will try to establish a communication via the COM
port selected in the section referring to establishing the Bluetooth Communication. If this
procedure is not carried out automatically, the Adjustments menu will appear where you can
select the COM port that you selected previously. You will also be able to select the language of
the application, choosing an option from among Spanish, English, French or German.

Once you have selected the COM port, and only if the application does not start
automatically, close the application and restart it. if on the contrary the programme starts, it will
directly access the functions menu of the diagnostic tool for CMC4.

If you wish to change the language of the application once it has started, you can access
the Adjustments window via the main menu of the application.

The application menu contains 25 functions for diagnosing the control manoeuvre, an
Adjustments menu and a last Exit function.

 In red, a brief explanation of the meaning of the failure.

In this and other functions, the blinking of the circle located in the upper left-hand corner
is synonymous of exchange of information between the PC and the manoeuvre, which indicates
the proper functioning of the device. In the event that it stops blinking, click on it to reconnect it,
both in this function and the rest.

6.5. FUNCTION 3 – FAILURE BATTERY

On accessing this function, the full failure stack present in the manoeuvre is downloaded.

The full list can be seen in the central box. Failures are displayed according to the date on
which they occurred, the first failure shown being the most recent.

The information is divided in the following manner:

 Failure. Failure Label.

 Failure no. Failure number in decimal format.

 Date. Date on which the failure occurred.

In the following example the most recent failure is nº 44-POWER_FAIL, which occurred on
7 February at 3:00 pm.

 State of the lift when the failure occurred: stopped, stopped in a descending
direction, stopped with an ascending direction, motion without any direction,
motion with an ascending direction or motion with a descending direction.
Descend.

 Failure label together with a brief explanation thereof.

In the following example, if you click on the failure POWER_FAIL occurred on 7-2 at 3:00
pm, you will learn that it occurred while the lift was running without direction on the 0th floor due
to a power supply failure and that it occupies position 0 in the failure stack.

 Delete. It eliminates the failures from the stack only if you click accept in the
window that opens.

 Reload. It requests a new failure stack download order from the manoeuvre.

 Exit. It returns to main menu.

6.6. FUNCTION 4 – DELETE STACK

Identical functionality as that of the delete button of function 3. If you click the accept
button you will delete the failure stack.

wish to make call from the Front Hall and Ascend to level 0 with the car at level 1.

2) In order to make a front up-call to level 0, we mark 0 and select go up on

has been activated in Revision mode. On entering this mode the blue bar
containing the name of the Revision turns Orange.

In the CMC4 manoeuvre this operating mode is common to simple and double

4) Lift operators. As in the case of the Revision mode, on actuating the lift Operator
mode key, the blue box turns orange. The status of the Up, Down and Start key
contacts and the status of the 80% of maximum load contact are represented.

5) Miscellaneous. Shows the Car priority, Call inhibition and Stop contacts for
hydraulic lifts.

6.9. FUNCTIONS 8 TO 23

Operation is identical in all cases. The only thing that changes is the parameter we wish
to modify.

Functions 8, 20 and 21 are not activated for the CMC4 control manoeuvre.

Operation will be explained with an example. Specifically, the Maximum Door Time will be
changed from 4 seconds to 6 seconds. The steps are the following:

1. On accessing the function, the current value of the parameter is read, repeatedly
sending new read requests.

As can be observed in the following image, the maximum door time is 4 seconds.

o Change motion during descent.

 The number on the left indicates the level to which the screen corresponds.

To change the type of screen you only have to click on the symbol of the screen you wish
to modify, which will turn red if the screen is different to the current screen.

To modify the level to which a screen corresponds, click on the number and enter the new
value in the window that opens. Click Change.

This value can be entered using the numerical keyboard of the PC or using the up and
down selection arrows.

Next, on the main screen of the function, click the change button, reprogramming only
those screens different to the current screen. The progress is indicated by the red bar.

Next, we will show an example of how to overlap the screens corresponding to levels 0
and 1.

1) On accessing function 24 we automatically download the configuration of the


shaft screens. in the current example it consists of 4 stops.

 Memory position and arrows display. Enter represent the memory position on
the left of the symbol = and its current value on the right.

Using the up and down arrows respectively located above and below the address
field, you can go directly to the previous or next address.

The cursor located on the left appears blinking, indicating the position where the
digit selected from the keys underneath will be entered. The position of the cursor
can be changed using the arrows located to the left and right.

 Control buttons and new value introduction display.

Once you have entered the memory position you wish to visualise, the New
Value label will appear. A new display is enabled (with a similar operation to the
previous display) indicating the new value in the memory position represented.

Once the two digits have been entered, the modify button will be enabled. Clicking
it will change the current value of the memory position.

Read orders are immediately relaunched, displaying the new value in the value field next
to the sign “=” of the upper display, returning to the initial situation but with the value modified.

In order to enter a new address, if it is contiguous to the current address you only have to
click on the up or down arrows and, if it is not contiguous, click on the left and right arrows to
move along the memory digits and enter the new memory position.

In the following example we will see how to change the current value equal to 4 of
position 3000 to a new value equal to 7.

1) On accessing the function, the digit on the left-hand display is blinking. As we


write the memory address, the blinking moves toward the right digit.

We enter the value 3000 using the hexadecimal keyboard, whereupon the stored
value is immediately displayed.

7. ANSWER AND PROPOSED SOLUTION TO MOST COMMON ERRORS

7.1. INSTALLATION OF THE DIAGPC APPLICATION

When installing the application, an error appears indicating that the correct .NET
Framework version is not installed.

Ensure, via the control panel, that you have installed .NET Framework version 3.5 SP1. If
so, please uninstall the current version and install the version included in the CD.

When installing the application, a Windows installer error appears.

Contact the person of the department responsible for PC maintenance, as there is a


problem with the software that manages the installation/uninstallation of applications.

7.2. BLUETOOTH PC – CMC4 INTERFACE PAIRING

When searching for Bluetooth devices, CMC Bluetooth Link does not appear

Verify that the board to which the CMC4 interface is connected is correctly fed.

7.3. USE OF THE DIAGPDA APPLICATION

When running the application, a window appears with the message


CREATE_FILED_ERROR_55

Click Cancel. Restart the application, previously ensuring that the board to which the
interface is connected is correctly fed and that you have paired the PDA with the interface.

When executing functions F1-current failure, F2-device status or F7-car contact


status, they do not seem to correctly represent lift status.

Verify that the circle representing communication (located on the upper left-hand corner)
is blinking. If not, click on it once to resume the communication.

When running the application, the “Software Licence” screen reopens.

The six-month validity period must have expired. Click the Load Licence button and select
the new file that you should have received from ThyssenKrupp, which will allow you to use the
application for another 6 months.
