[Holdex College of Science] CHEMISTRY LAB REPORT Prepared by [Sophia Pascal] [[email protected]] October 10, 2030 Introduction The experiment aims to see which liquids have a higher density that enables solid objects to float and at what speed the objects go up when placed into the liquid. The hypothesis states that the denser the liquid, then the slower solid objects reach the bottom of the container. The experiment involves placing solid objects made of different substances onto three different liquids which are alcohol, water, and oil. Methodology yee Se Materials Nine containers, a timer, oil, water, alcohol, three stones, three small metal cubes, and three marbles. Procedure Take the nine containers and separate them into three groups. For each group, fill them with one of the three liquids. Then group the containers again into three with each containing the oil, water, and alcohol. Take the solid items, and be ready to drop them into the container. Once they hit the surface of the liquids, turn on your timer and record when each of the solid items hit the bottom of the container. Findings Below are the observations made from the experiment. 1. The items that fell into the oil take the longest time to hit the bottom compared to the others. 2. The solid items that weigh heavier than the rest are the fastest to hit the bottom of the container, particularly the one filled with alcohol. Conclusion Upon observation and in checking the records, it can be concluded that the denser the liquid, and the lighter the item, then the slower the speed of the item's fall. This is proven when the small stone was dropped into the oil container. This proves our hypothesis that the denser the liquid, then the slower solid objects reach the bottom of the container. Recommendations The following recommendations may be considered for further study on this topic: 1. Conduct more tests and use a variety of liquids and solid objects 2. Have the solid objects be in a consistent weight so that there are no outliers in the results ft hs yur ow doar ere Se
