PROBATION CONTRACT
Taking into consideration the information from todays workshop, please read the following information
carefully and follow all directions.
Because 2.00 is the minimum grade point average required for graduation from UCR, students are
formally placed (or continued) on probation at the conclusion of every quarter in which their cumulative
and/or Term grade point average falls below 2.00.
STEP ONE: UNDERSTANDING PROBATION (Please initial each point indicating your understanding.)
_____ I understand that I have been placed on academic probation because my UCR cumulative and/or
Term grade point average is below the 2.00 requirement to be in good academic standing.
_____ I understand that while on probation, I am limited to 15 credit hours for future registration
periods until I reach good academic standing.
_____ I understand that I will remain on probation until both my cumulative and Term grade point
averages reach the 2.00 level.
_____ I understand that if I fail to meet my probation requirements (minimum semester grade point
average of 2.00), I will be dismissed from the university.
_____ Make an appointment with my instructors or academic advisor if I experience any difficulties.
_____ Take advantage of UCR resources like the Writing Center, and tutors to help me succeed.
_____ Have calculated my grade for every class at least one week prior to the last day to withdraw one
or all of my classes. I know that I can use the GPA calculator to help me determine if I will meet my
required term GPA.
