Mathematical Tools For Data Science

This document outlines a project to introduce participants to data science and machine learning through mathematics, statistics, programming, and a final applied project. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will learn about topics including descriptive and inferential statistics, probability distributions, hypothesis testing, regression, decision trees, and more. They will apply their learning through assignments, quizzes, coding contests, and a final project. The objective is to provide exposure to real-world data science applications and help participants understand relationships between data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. No prerequisites are required beyond enthusiasm to learn.

Mathematical

Tools and
Algorithms for
Data Science
Overview
This project will introduce you to the basic mathematics behind one of the most popular
field of study, data science and machine learning. The project ranges from various
probability and statistical knowledge to linear algebra, python programming, python
libraries, algorithms and finally a project at the end.
There will be assignments and quizzes for evaluation and also some basic coding contest
to get familiar with python.
Project Objective
The objective of this project is to provide exposure to the real world applications of data
science. At the end of this project the mentees would be able to answer the questions
like Why Data Science is so important ? How is it changing the world ? What are the
boundaries between Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence ?
So the main objective of the project is learning, learning and learning !
