professional fields like business analytics, health data science, and biostatistics for example. Or take your

What can I do with this degree?
This degree will give you the ability to apply core concepts and tools of data thinking to your work in any
industry. As a data scientist, you will analyze data from across a company, spot trends and use your business
acumen to recommend what problems to tackle and how to tackle them. Your skills will be transferable to
many sectors – business, retail, e-commerce, advertising, healthcare, etc.
The MDSA will require 36 units of coursework, including a 6-unit internship. You will be able to choose one
of the following three specializations: (1) Business Analytics; (2) Data Science; or (3) Health Data Science and
Biostatistics. You will complete 12 units of core data science and analytics courses that build and enhance
your theoretical and technical proficiency in computer science and statistics, as well as 12 units in your
chosen specialization, 6 units in an integrated topics course that will blend technical, business, and
professional skills, and 6 units of internship.
