1. What do you mean by a National Artist?

Answer:
A National Artist is a Filipino citizen who has been given the rank and title of National
Artist in recognition of his or her significant contributions to the development of Philippine arts
and letters. National artists also recognize excellence in the fields of Music, Dance, Theater,
Visual Arts, Literature, Film and Broadcast Arts, and Architecture or Allied Arts.

2. How is the awarding ceremony being done?


Answer:
The awarding ceremony is being done by means of Presidential proclamation.

3. Describe the insignia of the Order of the National Artists.


Answer:
The insignia of the order of the national artists is composed of a Grand Collar featuring
circular links portraying the arts, and an eight-pointed conventionalized sunburst suspended
from a sampaguita wreath in green and white enamel.The central badge is a medallion divided
into three equal portions, red, white, and blue, recalling the Philippine flag, with three stylized
letter Ks—the “KKK” stands for the CCP’s motto: “katotohanan, kabutihan, at kagandahan”
(“the true, the good, and the beautiful”), as coined by then first lady Mrs. Imelda Romualdez
Marcos, the CCP’s founder. The composition of the Grand Collar is silver gilt bronze. In place
of a rosette there is an enamelled pin in the form of the insignia of the order.

4. What are some of the honors and privileges that a National Artist will receive?

 Lifetime fee, material, and physical benefits
 100,000PHP for living awardee to legal heir/s.
 Monthly life pension, medical and hospitalization benefits
 Life insurance coverage for Awardees who are still insurable
 Funeral and burial at the Libingan ng mga bayani
 Place of honor,in line with protocolar precedence, at national state functions, and
recognition at cultural events.

5. Why are many writers aspiring to be included in the Order of the National Artists?
Answer:
Many writers are inspiring to be included in the Order of the National Artist because they
want to be a part of National Artists that may give a lot of opportunities that many people will
know more about the artist and lots of interview, job offers and other opportunities might be
given to them for their work and may become one of the Filipino artist that other country wants
them to be with or work with.

6. If given a chance to be a future writer, would you like to be included in the list of Order of
the National Artists? Why or why not?
Answer:
If I was given a chance to be one of the future writers, I don’t like to be included in the list
of Order of the National Artist because I know to myself that I’m not that good in writing or arts
that will make fellow artists and fellow Filipino proud of what I have done. I’m not good at writing
and writing is not my interest. I will just write what I need and what I’m ready and willing to write
about. I will just support my friends, and family who are good at writing that will make them
motivated and encourage them. I will just do whatever I want and what will make me happy,
what my passion is, what is interesting for me.
