I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. emphasize the importance of correct punctuation;
b. explain the different capitalization rules; and
c. appreciate capitalization and proper punctuation in making effective
paragraph.

Topic: Capitalization and Proper Punctuation

B. Motivation
The teacher will ask about the previous discussion.
C. Activity
The student will read the small conversation base on the strip given.

Ben: What does who mean?


Dina: Who? It refers to a person.
Ben: No, I know what who means. I’m asking about who...the one always
mentioned in reports regarding COVID19.
Dina: Ah. You’re asking about WHO. It stands for World Health Organization.
Ben: Oh, yeah! That’s it! Thank you.

D. Analysis
The teacher will ask these following questions:
a. What happened in the conversation between Ben and Dina?
b. What was the conflict in their conversation?
c. How was it resolved?

The teacher will give proper discussion about Capitalization and Proper
Punctuation

Capitalize the first of a sentence.
Capitalize names and other proper nouns.
Capitalize honorific titles.
Capitalize content words in titles.
Capitalize the first word of a quoted speech.
Capitalize days, months, and holidays.
