The student completed Lab Task 2 which involved: 1) Installing Windows 10 on a virtual machine by creating a virtual machine, adding storage for the Windows 10 ISO file, and starting the installation process. 2) Installing Ubuntu Linux by creating another virtual machine, allocating storage and memory, and adding the Ubuntu ISO file to install the operating system.  Install windows OS on virtual machine


 Install Linar operating system (Ubuntu) in your systems.

Objective(s)

 To get familiar with the window operating system and its installations.
 To get familiar with the Linux operating system, and also their installation, important
layers in Linux (Kernel, Shell and File system).

We learn about Introduction to Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows, commonly referred to as Windows, is a group of several proprietary


graphical operating system families, all of which are developed and marketed by Microsoft,
Each family caters to a certain sector of the computing industry, Active Microsoft Windows
families include Windows NT and Windows loT: these may encompass subfamilies, (e.g
Windows Server or Windows Embedded Compact)

Linux is a family of open-source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an
operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991, by Linus Torvalds. Linux is
typically packaged in a Linux distribution.

Distributions include the Linux kemel and supporting system software and libraries, many of
which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their
name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name "GNU/Linux" to emphasize the
importance of GNU software Popular Linux distributions include Debi an, Fedora Linus, and
Ubuntu. Commercial distributions include Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise.

 Now we will perform the Lab task(s)


 Install windows OS on virtual machine
 Install Linar operating system (Ubuntu) in your systems.

1- Install windows OS on virtual machine


 First of fall we will create a virtual machine
 Name the file window 10 and select window 10 64 bit

Select the memory


Select the hard disk

 we click on do not can add a virtual hard disk and create.


 We can also choose the Create virtual hard disk now and choose VDI and create.

The virtual machine is create now go to the setting.


Now we will select window os iso operating file.

Go to the setting, select storage and then add iso file.

Start the installation Process


 Select the window 10 pro
The window 10 operation system is ready

2- Install Linar operating system (Ubuntu) in your systems.

We go to machine click it or press Ctrl + N.

 We can see this create virtual machine


 We name the any operating system name Linux and save the file in the Disk D.
 where the operation system file is located in the d folder.
 We give the type and version of ubutun.
 We go to next.
 We select the memory size according how much you need it.
 we click on do not can add a virtual hard disk and create.
 We can also choose the Create virtual hard disk now and choose VDI and create.
Now we will select window ubuntu operating file.

- Go to the setting, select storage and then add Ubuntu file.


Now Install the Ubu Operating system
The Ubuntu Operating system is ready
