About Our Course

In this introductory course, students develop


transferable skills to support their learning
experience and career progression. Students
explore teamwork models and conflict
resolution strategies in workplace contexts as
it pertains to business conventions and
elements of employability. Throughout the
course, students have the opportunity to
reflect on the importance of personal
management skills and teamwork skills to
meet the requirements of today's workplace.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

1 develop learning and study techniques to support academic and


career success
2 evaluate the communication behaviour of individuals and groups,
and discuss the roles and factors that influence behaviours

4 examine methods of conflict resolution and consensus building

5 describe the green office movement and its impact in the

Weekly Planner (5%)


Purpose:
Students will create a weekly planner for the period of Sept 11-17.

Instructions:
1. Assess how your time is spent during the week, including both
academic and non-academic activities.
2. Choose a platform from the list below to create a weekly planner.
The planner should include all aspects of your day, including
schoolwork, paid work, and self-care activities.
3. Suggested resources:
i. Microsoft Outlook calendar (all students have
access through their student email account).
ii. Georgian College Student Planner
iii. Other: must be pre-approved by the Professor.
4. Submit work on Blackboard by September 16, 2022 at 23:59.
