42. Two concentric metallic spherical shells of radius R and 3R are given charges Q 1 and Q2 respectively. The surface charge
densities on the outer surfaces of the shell are equal. Determine the ratio of Q 1 : Q2. Ans: 1:8

46. 75% of distance d between the parallel plates of a capacitor is filled with material of dielectric constant k. Find the
change in the capacitance if the original capacitance was C 0. Ans: 4kC0/k+3.

47. Keeping the voltage of charging source constant what would be the percentage change in the energy stored in the
parallel plate capacitor if the separation between its plates were to be increased by 10%?
Ans: 11.1%.
48. Net capacitance of three identical capacitors in series is 3 µF. What will be their capacitance if connected in parallel?
Find the ratio of energy stored in two configurations if they are connected to the same source.
Ans: 27 µF & 1:1.
49. A cube of side √3 m has a charge of 1 µC at each of its eight vertices. Find the potential and electric field at the centre of
cube. Ans.:0.
