Classify A Geometric Sequence As Finite or Infinite

This document outlines a lesson plan for differentiating between finite and infinite geometric sequences. The objectives are for 75% of learners to differentiate and classify geometric sequences as finite or infinite. The lesson involves preliminary activities, eliciting prior knowledge, engaging students with a video, having students work in groups to classify sequences, explaining their work, elaborating on their understanding, evaluating their knowledge through definitions and classifications, extending their learning by generating examples, and reflecting on the lesson's effectiveness.

Content Standards: The learner is able to demonstrate understanding of key concepts of

sequences.
Performance Standards: The learner is able to formulate and solve problems involving
sequences
Learning Competency and Code: The learner is able to differentiates a finite Geometric
Sequence from an infinite Geometric Sequence: M10AL-Id-3
Quarter:1 Week: 4 Day: 15

I. Objectives:

At the end of 60 minutes, 75% of the learners are expected to:

1. differentiate finite and infinite geometric Sequence; and
2. classify a geometric sequence as finite or infinite.

II. Content:

Subject Matter: Sequences

Integration:
(Learning Area): MAPEH, English
Strategies: 7E’s, Cooperative/Colaborative Learning,
Materials: Laptop, Chalk, ICT, Illustration board, Eraser, Manila paper, Pentelpen

III. Learning Tasks:

Preliminary Activities (2 mins)
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
A. Elicit (5 mins)
 The teacher will call atleast 3-5 students to construct one sentence related to what they
have learned on the previous lesson.
 The taecher will ask question/s for some clarification about the topic.

B. Engage (5 minutes)
 For activity 2. Watching Video
Finite and Infinite Sequence
Let the students to watch a short video about the topic.

After the watching the teacher will ask the following.
Guide questions:
a. What is the video all about?
b. Did you learn something from the video?
c. Can distinguish/ categorize the difference between finite and
infinite Geometric Sequence?
C. Explore (15 minutes)
 Let the students to divide the class into 6 groups., let the students do the Activity 3
“Classify Me”
Each group will be given 15 Geometric sequences, they are going to categorize the
sequences whether it is Finite or Infinite. ( Every group must have different set of 15
sequences)
 They are make a graphing organizer to do this activity.

D. Explain (10 mins)
 In every group there is one presentor to report and discuss further, so that all students
can learn more from their output.
 After the group has reported, other groups will be asked to give comments and questions
for clarification based on the presentation.
 All memebers of the group can answer the question/s of the other group.
