INTRODUCTION
1.1Background of the Study
The impact of technology in our lives is immeasurable it has become a primary
componentin our daily lives.Our world isonly becoming more reliant on
technology, and having a good understanding of common technological devices
and their uses.Education has gradually evolved to blend technology in spreading
information.Technology is becoming a more prominent form of learning. , technological
progress has deeply influenced education. It has created educational
opportunities
for students and teachers,in troducing technology in education has been
beneficial
to both, however, with all this constant immersion in technology, there are some very real
concerns about how this tech has negative impacts.Usingtechnology in schools has a lot
ofdisadvantages. Technology changed educationnegatively through four
paths, deteriorating students' competences of reading and writing, dehumanizing educational
environments, distorting social interactions between teachers andstudents and isolating
individuals when using technology.Technology has also begun to change the roles of
teachers
and learners, students now are becoming more highly dependent on the devices to
complete
their work rather than depending on their own knowledge and this is obviously a negative
signal towards the growth of education and humanity in the modern world.It is great to be
optimistic and believe in the continuous advancement of technology, however, it is equally
important to not lose sight of the negative sides of technology in education.We must be
cautious and thoughtful when it comes to using technology in education.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Technology is interesting in so many ways. In today 's society, we can 't live without the
technology sensation it delivers. The different directions technology has introduced in the
world
is incredible. For instance, there 's technology in business, relationships, transportation, and
even
ineducation.Times have changed a lot in terms of education.Technology has various benefits
for the education system, which are quite common. However, the rise of technology in
learning
has also carried some disadvantages with it, some of which might be overlooked. Various
types
of technologies are used atpresent in schools such as cell phones, computers, tablets, free
Wi-Fi and electronic-based toys .The use of technology specifically the internet in education
not only exposes students to wrong or misleading information but also to engage in
plagiarism,
assignments and tests are quickly completed by reproducing available information rather than
producing it by themselves.Due to the availability of all types of information online, many
students are now becoming lazy. They no longer want to study the hard way. Some students
even do not attend classes, mistakenly thinking that everything can be found online. The use
of technology in education is definitely doing away with the skill sets that have been
acquired
by individuals with much effort and pain, traditionally.Technology adds complexity to
everything–support, teaching, learning, budgets, etc. It’s inherently disruptive.A serious
negative effect of technology on teens' education is the distraction that it may pose within the
learning environment, the opportunity to access social network sites and games can tempt
students away from planned learning activities.We must consider to what degree the
technology might be more efficient, but less useful as to tool to learning.
1.3 Objectives of the Study
This research project ought to acknowledge The disadvantages of Using
Technology in Education. To achieve this aim, the study pursues the following
objectives:
1. To know the disadvantages of using technology in education.
2. To know the negative impacts of using technology in education to students.
3. To know the types of technology used in school .
