Owner/Manager
Delegating responsibilities and supervising business operations
Hiring, training, motivating and coaching employees as they provide attentive, efficient service
to customers, assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training
opportunities.
Resolving conflicts or complaints from customers and employees.
Monitoring store activity and ensuring it is properly provisioned and staffed.
Analyzing information and processes and developing more effective or efficient processes and
strategies.
Establishing and achieving business and profit objectives.
Maintaining a clean, tidy business, ensuring that signage and displays are attractive.
Generating reports and presenting information to upper-level managers or other parties.
Ensuring staff members follow company policies and procedures.
Other duties to ensure the overall health and success of the business.
Secretary/Assistant
Answer telephones and take messages or transfer calls
Schedule appointments and update event calendars
Arrange staff meetings
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
Draft routine memos, billing, or other reports
Edit company correspondence and ensure document accuracy
Maintain databases and filing systems, whether electronic or paper
Perform basic bookkeeping
Technical Staff
Assess and develop new advanced technologies by translating strategic business goals into final
design.
Lead small groups or teams for effective project management and delivery.
Maintain complex technologies by understanding system requirements.
Strategize technical guidance to team.
Perform technical trials.
Update on industry trends and technology.
Maintain and improve current Web applications and migration to unified technology platform.
Display familiarity with clients side web technologies.
Create advanced electro-optical system concepts to meet customer needs in remote sensing
Production Staff
Following health and safety standards.
Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.
Assembling products and parts.
Following production guidelines and specifications.
Finalizing and packaging products for shipment.
Operating and maintaining machinery and production line equipment.
Monitoring the assembly line and removing faulty products.
Working on the production line and meeting production targets.
Reporting any issues to the supervisor on duty.
Marketing Staff
Acts as the highest-ranking employee in the marketing department
Assists in the interviewing, hiring, and training of key marketing staff members, including
marketing managers and consultants
Research and analyses market trends, competitor offerings, demographics, and other
information that affects marketing strategies
Uses research findings and analysis to provide direction to marketing managers regarding
upcoming marketing projects, new products or services, and overall strategy
Identifies areas for improvement in product offerings, sales tactics, marketing strategy, and
promotional activities
Approves all marketing campaigns and plans before they are implemented
Weighs in on important decisions involving product advertising, packaging, media channels, and
branding
Maintains the department's budget and ensures all marketing activities are cost-effective
Works with other company officers to establish budgets and marketing objectives
Monitors marketing and sales performance and adjusts strategies as needed
Adheres to and implements all company policies and procedures
Cashier
Handle cash, credit or check transactions with customers
Scan goods and collect payments
Ensure pricing is correct
Issue change, receipts, refunds, or tickets
Redeem stamps and coupons
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are
correct and that there is adequate change
Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones
Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
Bag items carefully
Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment
Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
Keep reports of transactions
Process returns and check to see if items are damaged
Answer customers’ questions and get a manager if answer doesn’t solve the issue
Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
