Difference between the SMO (SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIMIZATION) and SMM (SOCIAL
MEDIA MARKETING)
SMO (SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIMIZATION) is the process of optimizing the website so that
it can exhibit on various social media channels. It deals with the interface to make it
looks compelling so that users share it on their social media accounts. The main
objective of SMO is to create an impressive optimized site and pulling users and
encouraging them to share the content.
The next step that follows Social Media Optimization is Social Media Marketing, and
then it is about brand/services through various posts that include product details. The
primary goal of SMM is to make brand popular and create a sticky customer base.
These posts include videos, text content, info graphics and others.
The difference between SMO and SMM, SMO deals with on-page optimization of the
website while SMM deals with the activities that take place outside website.

How to set up an Effective Ad campaign

1. Define Your Goals
2. What you want to promote
3. Identify your target audiences
4. Determine Where to find your audience
5. Decide campaign schedule
6. Set an Ad Budget
7. Create an AD message and graphics
8. Analyse Result

Note: To create an effective ad campaign, you must keep a weekly/monthly social

media calendar in order to reach a larger audience and get better results.

14
3.1.a. SOCIAL MEDIA CALENDER
A Social media calendar that helps to visualize all the planned posts for the next weeks
or months ahead. And on top of that, it will help to craft the posts in advance so that
always there is something ready to share.

How to choose the best social media platform for marketing

To find one that one suits your business best should be selected by answering the few
questions around social media. Here are few:
1. Do you want to build a social media presence?
2. Looking to create brand awareness?
3. Are you looking to generate leads from your social media campaigns?
4. Who you want to reach?
5. What is the most promising platform on which your customers hang out on?

3.1.b. Social Media Marketing using Facebook

Facebook is one of the essential social media platforms that lead the social media
marketing bandwagon. It has three for marketing:

15
1. Pages: Facebook pages are the simplest to create and are free. We need to
build brand page and invite people to like and follow it. But when we set up
business page keep in mind some essential points:
a) Always use company logo as the profile picture and cover page
b) Post the content that is useful and relevant to business and our customers
c) Do not post same content instead post it timely at specific time intervals.
Use it to announce new product launches or coupon codes for fans or to
link to our new blog posts.
d) “About us” should be small, impressive introduction about what our brand
does and how it can help our target customers.
2. Ads: Facebook ads that are the paid alternative for our social media marketing
needs. It is helpful because Facebook collects information about the
demographics, age, gender and the search history of the users which makes
Facebook the best targeted advertising programs online. When ads appear in the
news feed of your audience, they can either be redirected to our website or our
intended Facebook page. They also have the option to hide the ad if they do not
like it but after giving feedback on why the ad was irrelevant to them. The
Facebook ads are not just simple, but it is highly flexible. You can easily
customize it as per your marketing requirements and get the most out of your ad
investment.
3. Groups: Facebook groups are more like a discussion forum where people of
similar interest can come and share their thoughts. You can create groups
related to your industry and add people to it for high user engagements. But,
managing groups is a bit time consuming as compared to other marketing
techniques.

Facebook Optimization
1. Profile Creation: After creating your profile and filling in the details about the
services and product, you are now available on Facebook. But, a personal
Facebook profile is different from a business profile.

2. Page and Group Creation: A page describes everything about your brand and
service and will enable users to like the page if they are interested. It allows the
users to share, like and follow it.

3. Lead Generation: Facebook allows generating leads by sending out messages

or using their lead ads generation feature.

16
4. Event Branding: Facebook also provides users with “create an event” option
that is a great way to get the attention of users. If we are organizing an event,
then we can send an invite to our customers with the date and venue details. It
will help to reach out to your customers and also pull their interest in our brand.

3.1.c. Social Media Marketing using Instagram

Instagram is a photo sharing platform, and it allows businesses to engage with the
audience through photo sharing. Though Instagram is labelled to be the best pick when
it comes to marketing products that have some visual appeal. Statistics reveal that user
engagement on Instagram is four times more than that on Facebook and at the end in
marketing what matters is user engagement.
Few things to keep in mind with Instagram
1. Images that are high-quality, visually appealing reach the maximum number of
users.
2. Timing and trending hash tags also play a crucial role in Instagram posts.
3. Make impressive captions that urge the user to click the “Read more” option to
get broader visibility.
4. Optimizing posts using the right caption, call-to-actions and tags can do wonders
for posts.
5. Participating and following other Instagram pages of similar industry is another
great way to reach a more significant number of people.

3.1.d . Social Media Marketing using LinkedIn

LinkedIn is one the most underrated social media marketing that many businesses are
prone to ignore. But, let me tell you according to reports, 64% of the visits to corporate
website originate from LinkedIn making it a lead magnet.
A company profile on LinkedIn not only helps with the local leads but it helps you to
draw global leads. Use your logo as the profile image and add an apt description in the
description box. Be precise, professional and compelling in description to create positive
impact on the viewer. It is best to have a 100% complete profile to gain few more
brownie points. Also, the information that you add in a description and About Us section
help with the LinkedIn search filter. LinkedIn also recommends using keywords in the
About Us section as it helps with the online searches. Once you have set up your profile
try to create more and more links to your company page through blog posts or from
website.

17
 Create actionable content
Actionable content always works so try to create content that helps to build
curiosity and compels the user to click on the link. For example, if we want to
promote our blog, then we should share a tad bit of content of our blog that
incites curiosity of the user and makes him click the link.

 LinkedIn Groups:
LinkedIn also comes with a group feature that helps to create the industry-
specific groups and invite like-minded people to join it. We can share our
thoughts, ideas, ask questions or suggestions from people of our industry and
participate in conversations. It is another way to attract leads to your business.

3.1.d . Social Media Marketing using Twitter

Twitter is another essential component of social media marketing. It comes with its own
set of unique features that can help to skyrocket business marketing needs. When we
set up our Twitter profile then align it with our other online presence and make it
consistent.
 Twitter username: Also called as the twitter handle needs to be unique and
should define your brand. If you have a company when choosing a name that
incorporates both of them will be a good idea. Avoid using any special characters
 Profile and cover photo: use logo as your profile photo will be the best thing to
do. The cover photo can be utilized to convey the mission or story of your
business.
 Bio: There is a limit of 160 characters so try to create interesting catchphrases.
Add all the information about your location, website address and other details
 Engage through tweets and follow people: Twitter is one of the most fast-
paced discussion boards that allow users to connect through tweets and replies.
When you reply or re-tweet, it helps to reach out more audience and create a
larger customer base.
3.1.d . Social Media Marketing using YouTube
YouTube is one of the biggest, most popular websites in the world, which is what makes
it an incredibly powerful marketing tool. The fact that YouTube is such a hugely popular
platform also means that there is a lot of competition. Another big reason why YouTube
is such an attractive option for marketing purposes is that it’s all about video – and video
marketing is all the rage right now. Video has consistently proven itself as one of the
best performing forms of content in terms of engagement, these videos would be great
for our other social profiles, email marketing campaigns, your website and landing
pages, and any other platforms.

18
Developing a YouTube marketing strategy
Marketing on YouTube is like marketing on other social platforms:
a) Defining our goals.
b) Clicks/traffic
c) Engagement
d) Reach/subscriber numbers Commit to a schedule

How to Manage YouTube channel

a) Check your comments every day so you can respond promptly
b) Use monitoring to find other mentions of your brand and identify engagement
opportunities
c) Ask questions of your viewers in your videos, as well as in your video
descriptions to encourage them to leave a comment
d) Use the “Community” tab (located in your channel’s main page) to post images,
GIFs, and video previews, as well as to poll your subscribers.

3.1.e. Different types of Ads

Advertising on social media is common, but there are several types of advertisements
that cater to varying needs of brand promotions.
1. Collection Ads: These ads are specifically made for mobile devices. A collection ad
usually consists of a video or an image and related product images. The objective of
such ads is to present users with your ads but in a limit but at the same time drive
interested customers to your website.
2. Carousel Ads: A happy medium between image ads and the collections ad is
carousel ad. These ads are relevant because they help with the desktop placement.
These ads offer a great experience not just on mobile but also on the desktop. People
can always swipe several images (up to 10 images) one after other and land on
different landing pages.
3. Messenger Ads: These ads are available on the face of our messenger screen. It
helps our users to connect with our brand on messenger.
4. Twitter ad campaigns: When we start twitter ads campaign, we define our business
objective that ensures our ads align with our business goals.

3.1.f. Remarketing in social media

Remarketing in social media is essential because a customer doesn’t make a purchase
as soon as he visits a website or a brand. It takes him time to comprehend and finally
make a buying decision. A retargeting partner tracks our user’s activities on our website

19
such as products added in the cart, product views or any of the purchase made and
these details get stored in a cookie.
3.1.g. Optimizing Ad copy
When you are preparing ads for your social media campaigns, then we have a limited
text collection with which we need to play around effectively. The main idea behind
creating social media ads is less text but more significant impact.
Here are the few steps that we can follow for an effective ad text optimization:
1. Catchy titles that have keywords offer more conversion.
2. Highlight the unique content such that it grabs the user attention.
3. Include at least one keyword in the text content.
4. Find negative keywords as it helps to filter the non-relevant searches.
5. Avoid using repeated words.
6. Do not forget to add CTA
7. Do not include problems instead present your ad with a solution.
8. A/B testing

3.1.h. Insight Study

All the social media channels provide businesses with their own set of analytics tools
that help us to visualize the performance of our ad campaigns and social media posts.
Facebook: It also offers its own insights chart that can help you to create and improvise
your ad campaigns. It provides information like post reach, engagement, comments,
likes and also the sources from where we got those likes from that may be our stories,
or sponsored ads or any other.
Twitter: can access twitter analytics dashboard through this link
https://analytics.twitter.com/about Here we will get an overview about several metrics
such as total tweets (depending on the time frame we select), total followers gained, re-
tweets, profile visits, engagement rates, link clicks, favourites.
3.1.i. Paid Marketing via different social media channels
Most of the brands and companies utilize both organic as well as paid marketing
campaigns. The right balance between both these forms of marketing accelerates
growth and boosts the revenue.

20
Features of paid marketing
1. Paid marketing ensures that the target customers surely see our ad. The post and
wait that we get with organic marketing are not applicable here.
2. The reach and penetration of paid marketing ads are not limited.
3. Paid marketing helps us to target audience based on demographics, interests, and
helps to retarget.
4. It allows us to upload the target customer list from our CRM and then will find
lookalike customers with those matching profiles.
5. Paid marketing helps us to broaden our fan-base. The chance of growing our brand
with a limited number of audiences is low, so paid marketing can do wonders to such
brands.
Organic marketing via different social media channels
Organic marketing is a small part of your social media marketing campaign so it might
be of least relevance but the absence of organic marketing is not advised.
Features of Organic Marketing:
1. Instagram: This social media platform is all about beautiful and captivating
images. So, focus on posting interesting images that represents the brand.
2. Facebook: When it comes to adding video content then Facebook works best.
The live video feature of Facebook let these videos rank higher than others.
3. Twitter: Thought leadership and quotes works best on Twitter.

Tools to Calculate ROI

a detailed analysis of various activities like page taps, clicks and scrolls.

Rest 30% to 20% use the other search engine mentioned.
Working of a Search Engine

 Crawling – Process of fetching all the web pages linked to a website. This task is
performed by software, called a crawler or a spider (or Googlebot, in case of
Google).
 Indexing – Process of creating index for all the fetched web pages and keeping
them into a giant database from where it can later be retrieved. Essentially, the
process of indexing is identifying the words and expressions that best describe
the page and assigning the page to particular keywords.
 Processing – When a search request comes, the search engine processes it,
i.e., it compares the search string in the search request with the indexed pages in
the database.
 Calculating Relevancy – It is likely that more than one page contains the search
string, so the search engine starts calculating the relevancy of each of the pages
in its index to the search string.

22
 Retrieving Results – The last step in search engine activities is retrieving the
best matched results. Basically, it is nothing more than simply displaying them in
the browser.

The Rank algorithm is a program that ranks the website according to the website data.
When a user types a query in search engine, the search engine matches the keywords
in their database and presents the website containing the keywords according to the
rank assigned by the Rank Algorithm.

A keyword is a term that is used to match with the query a person enters into a search
engine to find specific information. Most people enter search phrases that consist of two
to five words. Such phrases may be called search phrases, keyword phrases, query
phrases, or just keywords. Good keyword phrases are specific and descriptive. The

23
following concepts related to keywords, help in optimizing the keywords on a web page
are:

 Keyword Frequency

pages over time.
 You can do brainstorming to identify correct keywords for your site.

24
4.1.b. ON PAGE OPTIMIZATION
On Page Optimization is a part of White Hat SEO. It refers to optimizing the factors that
affects the listing of the website in search results. The following techniques are covered
under on page optimization:
1. Keyword Analysis: A keyword analysis is a SWOT – analysis for search engine
optimization (SEO) and search engine advertising (SEA). This analysis provides
insight into the volume, competition and expected results of keywords for both
search engine optimization and search advertising. A keyword analysis is very
important prior to starting any SEO activity or the creation of SEA campaign. It
allows SEO and SEA professionals to:
Determine the volume of a search keyword or phrase, gain insight into the
competition on search keywords or phrases, find relevant synonyms, discover
negative keywords, which need to be avoided, see the current performance of
keywords or phrases, calculate target cost-per-click (CPC), cost-per action (CPA)
or expected revenue.

2. Tag Optimization: Optimizing HTML Tags using selected keywords is tag

optimization, keeping in mind the character limit along with space. Using the
keywords in tags will increase your visibility on SERP (Search Engine Result
Page).

25
3. Title: The title tag is used to specify the title of the website. The title is the
clickable text displayed in the result as the title of the website. Title tag
optimization is done to make sure that the WebPages get displayed for the
targeted keyword. For optimizing the title tag,
 The title for each web page must be different.
 Keywords must be present along with page name
 Title must have only 5 words or must be less than 70 characters including
space.
 Words of the title must be separated by pipeline “I” or “,”
Example: Home | WsCube Tech | Keyword2
<title> Home | WsCube Tech | Keyword | Keyword2 </title>

4. Meta - Keywords, Descriptions, Language: The Meta Tags are the part of the
website where you put your keywords. Some search engines may display the
meta description as a part of the search results, but the meta keyword tags
should not appear in search results. For Google, adding the description meta tag
does not result in a boost in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), but the
description might be used for the description for your SERP listings in Google.
Yahoo! says, they use the keyword Meta Tag when it ranks a page. Hence it
makes sense to add one for Yahoo! and nay other minor search engines that still
use.

26
Meta Description Tag Tips:

 Important tips for good Meta description tags:

 Use keywords in your Meta description tag.
 Try not to repeat the words overly often, but try to use multiple syntaxes of
your keywords.
 There should not be more than 150 characters in a description Metatag of
a single web page.
 Use a different meta description tag for each page, as each page is
different and stands a better chance of being found if you place a good
title and description on it.
Meta Keywords Tag tips

 Please refer to the previous chapter for identifying good keywords. Use
the following tips for preparing good meta keywords tags.
 Use synonyms.
 Use unique keywords.
 No need to repeat any given phrase.
 You can repeat a word any number of time, as long as each time it is
part of different phrase.

27
5. Heading – H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6: HTML header tags are used to differentiate
the headings (h1) and sub-headings (h2-h6) of a page from the rest of the
content. These tags are also known to webmasters as heading tags or simply
header tags. The most important heading tag is the h1 tag and least important is
h6 tag. In HTML coding, the heading tags from h1 to h6 form a top-down
hierarchy.
We use H tags to understand the structure of the text on a page better. For SEO,
there are 2 main purposes for HTML header tags: Structuring the page for
readability, and Relevance to keywords.

6. Hyperlink: The clickable text present in webpage is anchor text. In SEO, these
anchor texts must be relevant to the page you are linking to. All the anchor tags
must have title filled with keywords or the hyperlinks must be properly titled.
Example: <a href=http://www.wscubetech.com/services.php title= “web
development services”>Services</a>

7. Alt: The alt tag (alt attribute) is used to describe what the image is. This alt is
displayed in place of the image when the image cannot be shown or has an error
in loading. Hence, all the images must be properly tagged. Keywords can be
used in the alt tag to maximize the visibility of the site.
Example
:<imgsrc=”images/logo.png”alt=”wscubetechlogo”title=”Title”width=”50”height=”5
0”/>

8. URL: URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. After choosing domain name,
optimizing the URL’s for your pages is the next SEO step. SEO for your page
URL is important because keywords in the URL are the ranking factor and short
and descriptive URLs can help with link building and user interaction. The URL of
a website:
a) Must have limit of 70 characters.
b) Must not contain underscore.
c) Must use important keywords in the URL.

9. Favicon Icon: Favicons are small 16*16 pixel icons that commonly have the first
letter or logo of a specific brand; it can also represent a generic image to
represent the type of business that one has. These are commonly placed in files
called facvicon.ico, and are allocated in a websites root directory. Using a
Favicon created brand recognition and sense of credibility and trust among the
visitors.

28
10. Canonicalization Installation: Canonicalization is the process of selecting the
appropriate website URL if many options exist. For example, if there are various
options available for a website nidm.com such as:
a) https://wildhubdesigns.com/
b) wildhubdesigns.com
c) wildhubdesigns.com/index.php
Here the browser loads the suitable URL and this process is called Canonicalization.
When should you use Canonicalization?

a) Same content has different URL.

b) Different categories and tags result in URL having same content.
c) Website URLs having both http and https that result in the same content.
d) Mobile website displaying the same content, but on different URL/subdomain.
e) Different ports.
f) A website has both www and non-www.
g) Sharing syndicated content.
URL Canonicalization: URL Canonicalization is the process of selecting the
appropriate URL if there are many options of URL’s available. It is also known as
URL normalization and it is done to reduce and to have a standard URL than having
many URL’s.

IP Canonicalization: It is the process of redirecting IP address to the main domain

name hosted Duplicate content is a one that is copied from any other website and
pasted onto your website. Duplicate content causes many issues for the search
engine crawlers. Crawlers can easily understand the uniqueness of the website
contents. Sometimes search engine shows that website contents are duplicated.

29
11. Doctype: The Doctype tag in the webpage informs the search engine about the
version of HTML page. The Doctype declaration must be the very first thing
written in your HTML document, before the beginning of html tag.

12. Web Speed Optimization: If the website takes time in loading, then the suer will
not spend their time waiting of rit. So, here are some tips to optimize the speed of
your website:
a) Minify the CSS and JavaScript files.
b) Plug-in should be avoided.
c) There should not be minimum or no use of flash in the site.
d) Nested tables must not be present
e) Never use inline styles.
f) Take advantage of zip.

30
13. Link Building: Linking or link building refers to the technique of linking website
pages with external pages. These links are one of the factors in determining the
rank of the website. Links are classified into 3 categories:
a) Internal Links- The links present within the site, interlinking WebPages
together are called internal links. A well structure and style helps the
search engine to crawl the site and determine the priority of the pages.
b) Outgoing Links- The links present on your website pointing to other web
page is outgoing link. Example: social networking account links present on
the site.
c) Incoming Links- The links coming from other domain to your website are
incoming links. The links coming from sites with higher page rank helps in
boosting the page rank as they show search engine the importance of
your website.

14. XML Site Map: A sitemap is (usually) an XML document, containing a list of
pages on your website that you have chosen to tell Google other search engines
to index. Google often uses the sitemap file as a guide to the pages available on
your website – even though it may decide not to index every page you list on
your sitemap. The sitemap also carries information about each page, including
when it was created and last modified, and its importance relative to other pages
on your site. These speeds up the process of indexing pages.

31
15. Robots.Txt File: A robots.txt file tells search engine crawlers which pages or
files the crawler can or can’t request from your site. This is used mainly to avoid
overloading your site with requests; it is not a mechanism for keeping a web
page out of Google. There are two important considerations when
using/robots.txt:

a) Robots can ignore your /robots.txt. Especially malware robots that scan
the web for security vulnerabilities, and email address harvesters used by
spammers will pay no attention.
b) The/robots.txt file is a publicly available file. Anyone can see what sections
of your server you don’t want robots to use.
c) User-agent: *
d) Disallow: /wp-admin/
e) Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

16. Competitors Website Auditing : Through this we can know our competitors
strengths and weakness of the site, then we can make strategy to over the
competitors

32
17. Timely Assessment / Webpage Auditing: One of the questions that keep
coming to our mind when doing SEO are what if the technique, we are doing will
benefit us? Are the keywords chosen improving our ranking or not? Why my rank
is not improving in-spite of trying every technique? Assessing your SEO strategy
can be tricky, especially if you don’t know what to look for. Therefore, it is critical
that you are armed with the proper SEO tools and knowledge to gauge whether
your current SEO strategy is effective. Otherwise, you could be losing a lot of
money or time on services and techniques that just aren’t working or aren’t being
done correctly and can actually have a negative impact on your business.

A Part from Google Analytics, Google Webmaster and Bing Webmaster, there
are tools available on the internet for easy and real time analysis. Search Engine
Ranking, Piwik, Kissmetrics, Clicky and Woopra are some awesome tools for
analysing the website. Although they may not be 100% correct, they provide
some valuable insight of the website.

18. Domain Authority: Measured on a scale from 1-100, your domain authority is a
number given to you by search engines to determine the strength of your
website. Websites with a higher domain authority receive preference in the
search results, while websites with a lower domain authority are more likely to
rank near the bottom. Domain authority is measured by a few different factors,
including how long you’ve had your domain name (the longer the better), the
history of the domain name, the number of backlinks, and the number of 404
pages. By ensuring you have a technically sound website that follows the SEO
best practices, you can maximize your domain authority and improve your
ranking.

33
4.1.c OFF PAGE OPTIMIZATION

Page. This is because link building is the major part of Off Page, which is taken into
consideration when assigning a page rank to the site. The techniques used in off page
are:

1. Page Rank: Page rank is link analysis algorithm, used by the search engines to

given a rank between 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.
Each website is re-evaluated 3-4 times a year. The page social bookmarking,

5.1 WEB DESIGNING
A website is a highly important asset. After all, over two-thirds of small firms perform
business and connect with customers through their websites. Considering this, many
small company owners prefer to design their own website.
Why it is important?
Website is usually the first impression that people get about your organisation or
business. It's where users find out more about what you have to offer. It's also the most
probable place for leads to convert into clients.
How to make a WordPress website, here is the process step-by-step
1. Create a web hosting account (we recommend WordPress bitnami)
2. Choose a name for your website's domain.
3. Install the WordPress software.
4. Make a decision on a WordPress theme.
5. Make your very first page.
6. Install a few of the most important plugins.
7. Don't forget about marketing as well.

ADVANTAGES
1. It is an open-source platform that is free to use.
2. CSS files may be customized to meet the needs of the user.
3. There are several free plugins and templates available. The numerous plugins
can be customized according to the needs of the users.

DISADVANTAGES
1. Using a number of plugins might make your website take a long time to load and
function.
2. To make adjustments or edits to the WordPress website, PHP (hypertext pre-
processor) skill is necessary.
3. It's tough to change and format the visual pictures and tables.

We'll need a few things to create a professional website, such as

In the company website they use the colour codes, which is their in the logo (Hexa
colour picker). There will be a particular code for every colour.
Where we can use the colours
1. Logo
2. Website
3. Posters

40
4. Banners
5. Pamphlets

Logo: The size of logos should be

a) Square logo – 160 * 160 pixels (160 PX lengths and 160 PX widths)
b) Rectangle logo – 160 or 100 PX * 250 pixels (160 or 100 PX length and 250 PX
width)

Website: The website is off two types

a) News/Blog Website
b) Business Website

5.2.a. Web hosting

Web hosting is the place where all the files of your website live. It is like the home of
your website where it actually lives. A good way to think about this is if the domain
name was the address of your house, then web hosting is the actual house the address
points to. All websites on the internet, need web hosting.
When someone enters your domain name in a browser, the domain name is translated
into the IP address of your web hosting company’s computer. This computer contains
your website’s files, and it sends those files back to the users’ browsers. Web hosting
companies specialize in storing and serving websites. They offer different types of
hosting plans to their customers.
How Domain Names and Web Hosting are related?
Domain names and web hosting are two different services. However, they work
together to make websites possible. Basically, a domain name system is like a massive
address book that is constantly updated. Behind each domain name, there is an
address of the web hosting service storing the website’s files. Without domain names, it
will not be possible for people to find your website and without web hosting you cannot
build a website.
What should we purchase in order to create a website?
Domain:
Google.com – paid
Sub Domain:
a) Mail.google.com – free
b) Drive.google.com – free

because the default permalinks setting is not search engine friendly. If you leave
the default configuration, you may have difficulty ranking highly in search engines.
To update your permalinks settings, go to the "Settings" section and select
"Permalinks." On a new installation, it should be set to "Default," which will result in
permalinks that look like this:
http://www.yourdomain.com/?p=123
Find the "Custom Structure" section. To enable customized permalinks, click the
circle next to "Custom Structure," and then input the following in the box to the right.
This is how it should look:
%category%/%postname%
