With its Exolit grades the Division
Pigments & Additives offers an
extensive range of flame retardants
on a non-halogen base.

The advantages of non-halogen

products are:

Exolit in the case of fire

low smoke gas corrosivity reduced damage of installations and buildings
low smoke density extended escape time

Exolit compatibility
highly effective, low dosage only slight influence on mechanical properties
excellent incorporation into matrix no migration
good recyclability of FR-plastics meet current and future consumer recycling requirements

Exolit in final product

excellent aging stability low dosage, no migration, high quality during lifetime
attractive price/performance ratio competitive systems

Exolit AP grades (based on ammonium polyphosphate)
AP 412 fine-grained white powder with low water solubility

AP 420 aqueous solution

AP 421 coarse grained white powder, with low water solubility

AP 422 fine-grained white powder with low water solubility,

intumescent flame-retardant effect in many applications

AP 423 micronized AP 422, especially fine powder

AP 462 microencapsulated AP 422 with extremely low water

solubility

AP 740 synergistic mixture of flame retardants especially for light

weight UP-resins

AP 742 (TP) synergistic blend of flame retardants for light weight

UP resins and gel coats

AP 750 highly effective intumescent flame-retardant system,

especially for polyolefins and polyolefin/copolymers and
epoxy resins

AP 751 (TP) highly effective intumescent flame-retardant system,

especially for reinforced polypropylene, with high thermal
stability and low influence on mechanical properties

AP 752 highly effective intumescent flame-retardant system,

especially for polypropylene, with reduced water uptake
and increased stability against acids especially at elevated
temperatures

AP 760 (TP) highly effective intumescent flame-retardant system,

especially for polypropylene, with enhanced processing
window

Exolit AP products are non-toxic, colourless and have a broad

application range.

5
Exolit OP grades (based on organophosphorus compounds)
OP 550 highly effective reactive, non-halogenated phosphorus polyol with medium viscosity for low fogging
applications; functionality approx. 2

OP 560 (TP) highly effective reactive, non-halogenated phosphorus polyol with low viscosity and improved fogging
properties; functionality approx. 2

OP 920 (TP) liquid flame retardant with medium viscosity, intumescent and plasticizing effects

OP 930 (TP) fine grained white powder especially developed for epoxy laminate systems

OP 1311 (TP) new highly effective flame retardant especially developed for reinforced polyamide 6 and 66

Exolit OP products are specially adapted to the plastic matrix and are partially chemically bonded,
so they are characterized by very low emissions.

Other organo phosphorus compounds for special applications

Exolit 5060 white press cake for the production of viscose fibres
Dispersion

Exolit 5073* white granules, flame retardant especially designed for polypropylene fibres, films and tapes

Exolit 5085* (VP) special flame retardant for injection moulded polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)

Exolit 5087* special flame retardant for transparent cast polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)

Commodities

Exolit RP grades (based on red phosphorus)
RP 603
RP 606
RP 614 } specially treated red phosphorus powder

The following dispersions and concentrates based on a special treated red phos-
phorus have the advantage of easy handling and are non-regulated for transport
and storage.

RP 622 thixotropic aqueous dispersion

RP 650 thixotropic dispersion (carrier: epoxy resin)

RP 652 thixotropic dispersion (carrier: castor oil)

RP 654 thixotropic dispersion (carrier: UP resin)

RP 658* thixotropic dispersion (carrier: TCPP)

RP 659 (TP) thixotropic dispersion (carrier: diphenyloctylphosphate)

RP 675 (TP) concentrate in granule form (carrier: polyamide 6)

Based on highly stabilised red phosphorus grade.

RP 683 (TP) concentrate in pastille form (carrier: ester wax)

RP 689 (TP) concentrate in pastille form (carrier: phenolic resin)

RP 690 concentrate in pastille form (carrier: phenolic resin)

RP 692 concentrate in granule form

(carrier: low density polyethylene)

RP 693 concentrate in granule form (carrier: ethylenevinylacetate)

RP 694 concentrate in granule form (carrier: polyamide 6)

RP 695 concentrate in granule form (carrier: polyamide 6)

Based on highly stabilised red phosphorus grade.

RP 895 (TP) concentrate in granule form (carrier: polyamide 6)

The grade with the highest stabilisation.

Exolit RP products are characterized by their very high efficiency. Only low
dosage is necessary to meet high flame retardancy requirements. Their low impact
on the material properties makes them ideal for technical applications.
