NOTICE:
• Regarding statement content for RUSH Electrical Wiring Diagram, Repair Manual, and New Car
Features:
In the RUSH Electrical Wiring Diagram, Repair Manual, and New Car Features, the [Fuse Block
Assembly] and [Main Body ECU (Junction Block Assembly)] actually refer to the same part;
[Main Body ECU (Fuse Block Assembly)]. Therefore, the two different part names should be
read as [Main Body ECU (Fuse Block Assembly)].
• In the RUSH Electrical Wiring Diagram and Repair Manual, the keyfree system-related circuit
diagram and the ECU terminal layout for the [Fuse Block Assembly] are described separately
from those for the [Main Body ECU (Junction Block Assembly)]. Therefore, when performing
troubleshooting, refer to Service Bulletin for Electrical Wiring Diagram.
REGISTRATION
1. DESCRIPTION OF CODE REGISTRATION
CAUTION:
When registering electrical key transmitter, be sure to register one at a time. When 2
electrical key transmitters come into contact with the engine switch at the same time,
abnormal data will be registered.
HINT:
• Registering an ID code enables the keyfree function, wireless door lock control function and
immobiliser function to be operated.
• A maximum of 4 recognition codes can be registered in the main body ECU (fuse block
assembly), so that a maximum of 4 transmitters can be used.
• The mechanical key stowed in the electrical key transmitter does not have a built-in transponder.
Therefore, it is not possible to register the mechanical key alone.

3. PART REPLACEMENT AND KEY REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
(a) The following table shows ECU replacement and key registration procedures for cases in which
an ECU has been determined to be malfunctioning during troubleshooting of the immobiliser
system.
HINT:
A maximum of 4 keys can be registered (this includes any keys registered when the vehicle
was purchased).
Malfunctioning ECU Procedure Refer to

2. Reregister all keys. PROCEDURE "A" (See page 4)
No registration is required.
NOTICE:
• When replacing the ECM, make sure to
replace it with a new ECM (do not
replace with a used part or any ECM
with a code already registered on other
vehicle).
ECM -
• The code between the main body ECU
(fuse block assembly) and the ECM is
automatically registered when +B is
connected and the engine switch is
turned on (IG) for the first time after the
main body ECU (fuse block assembly)
or the ECM, or both are replaced.
No registration is required.
NOTICE:
• When replacing the steering lock ECU
(steering lock actuator assembly),
make sure to replace it with a new

when +B is connected and the engine
switch is turned on (IG) for the first
time after the main body ECU (fuse
block assembly) or the steering lock
ECU (steering lock actuator assembly),
or both are replaced.
4. KEY REGISTRATION PROCEDURE (PROCEDURE "A")
(a) New key code registration:
HINT:
• In the new key code registration mode, a maximum of 4 key codes can be registered.
• This mode operates normally when no key codes are registered in a main body ECU (fuse
block assembly).
• When a new main body ECU (fuse block assembly) is installed, key codes must be
registered in the main body ECU (fuse block assembly).
• New key codes must be registered with the battery connected. The engine switch can be
either on (IG) or off.

• If the keyfree system is canceled, registration cannot be performed (See Pub. RM35G0ED,
THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY > KEYFREE SYSTEM > CUSTOMIZE
PARAMETERS).
• In the chart below, the numbers in the "Procedure" column (1, 2, 3, etc.) indicate the step
numbers. Perform the steps in numerical order.
Process Procedure
Precondition
• Any door is open.
• Engine switch is off.
HINT:
When using the GTS with the engine switch off, check that all doors are closed first, and then open any door.
1. Start of registration
1. Prepare all new electrical key transmitters to be registered and place them outside the vehicle. Bring 1 new
electrical key transmitter inside the vehicle.
2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
3. Turn the GTS on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Utility / New registration of the key free key
1. Touch the electrical key transmitter to be registered to the engine switch according to prompts on the GTS
screen.
2. Verification of 2. Move the electrical key transmitter to be registered toward the center of the vehicle.
unregistered electrical key 3. Remove the electrical key transmitter that has already been registered from the cabin. Then, bring a different
transmitter* electrical key transmitter for which the following registration is to be performed into the cabin, and follow the
instructions on the GTS screen to register it. Repeat this process from procedure 1 until registration of all the
electrical key transmitter that you want to register is complete.
End of registration Finish new key code registration.
NOTICE:
• *: Finish the procedure for each electrical key transmitter within 30 seconds. If the
procedure is not completed within the specified time, redo procedure "A" from the
start if no electrical key transmitters have been registered. If 2 or more electrical key
transmitters are in the cabin simultaneously, their signals will interfere with each
other, making registration impossible.
• When registering new electrical key transmitters, all the electrical key transmitters
need to be registered in succession. Therefore, make sure to have all the electrical
key transmitters at hand before starting the registration process.
HINT:
The new key code registration mode ends when any of the following conditions is met:
• When the registration for 4 keys has been completed in the new key registration mode
(automatic termination).
• When a request has been made by GTS operation to halt registration mode when 1 key is
already registered.
5. KEY REGISTRATION PROCEDURE (PROCEDURE "B")
(a) Additional key code registration
CAUTION:
• If none of the registered electrical key transmitters is available, the additional key
code registration mode cannot be started.
• When registering electrical key transmitter, be sure to register one at a time. When 2
electrical key transmitters come into contact with the engine switch at the same time,
abnormal data will be registered.
• Additional key code registration is not possible for electrical key transmitters that
have been registered to other vehicles even once.
• If the keyfree system is canceled, registration cannot be performed. (See Pub.

• A brief outline of the key code registration procedure is shown above. For detailed
information, refer to the GTS screen.
