The CPU (DSM1) is connected by the PCE to the MBU and with flat cables to the VCB1
and VCB2.
With its internal SCSI connects the magneto optical drive.
The Hard disk drive, where there is the program of the unit, and the CD-ROM drive are
connected to the board by the internal IDE port.
On it arrives also the alphanumeric keyboard and the mouse (controlled by the trackball).
The code mentioned encloses the PCE and the PCD boards.

Starting from Technos unit s/n 4172 a new type of DSM1 has been introduced; a
Celeron one has replaced the old CPU board Pentium type.
This new board has the same purposes of the old one.
The board is the controller of the entire unit.
It is a standard PC board assembled on an Esaote board (PCE) with the base peripherals
(external modules):
The CPU (DSM1) is connected by the PCE to the MBU and with flat cables to the VCB1
and VCB2. With its internal SCSI connects the magneto optical drive. In case of DVD SCSI
also it’s connected to SCSI.
The Hard disk drive, where there is the program of the unit, the CD-ROM drive (or the new
DVD IDE) is connected to the board by the internal IDE port.
On it arrives also the alphanumeric keyboard and the mouse (controlled by the trackball).
The PCD receives from the CPU the VGA video signal used to synchronise the video output
of the unit. The code mentioned encloses the PCE and the PCD boards.
The differences among the various IC are summarised in the following table.
There is not full compatibility among the CPU/DSM.
