DRP Final Assignment
DRP Final Assignment
Measuring learning is a necessary part of every teacher’s work. Teachers need to check not
only student understanding, and parents, students, and leaders need to know how students
are doing also figuring out about her own ways of teaching and Improvements. In addition
to supporting learning across content areas, technology-enabled assessments can help
reduce the time, resources, and disruption to learning required for the administration of
paper Assessments delivered using technology also can provide a completer and more
nuanced picture of student needs, interests, and abilities than can traditional assessments,
allowing educators to personalize learning.
Through technology integrated assessments, educators can see evidence of students’
thinking during the learning process and provide near real-time feedback through learning
dashboards so they can take action in the moment. In the long term, educators, schools,
districts, states, and the nation can use the information to support continuous improvement
and innovations in learning.
Technology-enabled tools also can support teacher evaluation and coaching. These tools
capture video and other evidence of qualities of teaching such as teamwork and
collaboration. They provide new avenues for self-reflection, peer reflection and feedback,
and supervisor evaluation.
DATA STORAGE LESSON PLAN
With reference to the attached lesson plan about storage devices after assessing my and
students performance through reflection of recorded video I replanned my lesson and try in
a different way by embedding technology in my lesson.
Lesson went really well as in the beginning of lesson it was a brainstorming session which is
also a reflection strategy to see the real pictures of your learners’ abilities. Then later clarify
confusions or streamlined my lesson by showing up presentation which was another
technology tool to students learning smoother and more intact.
In the end students were really able to construct their virtual network that was actually the
true picture of SAMR model redefinition level.
Overall, the applied strategies showed me the real difference in comparison to the
previously conducted lesson and the students’ models of reconstruction were actually the
true evidence of what students have learnt, no doubt technology gives accurate and intime
feedback of teachers and learners performance and learning.
And last but not the least assessment through brain storming and students’ performance in
previous lessons really helped me a lot to improve my lesson planning and execution.
My next lesson plan which was actually designed after taking help from Kolb’s Theory which
actually consists of four stages of action that have to take place for effective learning to
have taken place; feeling, observing, thinking, and doing. The model also describes different
learning styles, acknowledging that as unique individuals, people prefer to learn in different
ways.
After having very interactive brainstorming session with the class in fact it was the feeling in
terms of Kolb’s theory to see where my class is standing in the beginning of my lesson, I
provided my students with few links to search on the topic of security threats. I shared
variety of links with each pair and observe how students are extracting information the
whole thinking process and ultimately, they were supposed to create presentation and post
on Edmodo forum. My whole lesson was again a true picture of SMAR Redefinition level and
obviously Kolb’s theory helped me a lot in all this execution process.
If I evaluate my whole lesson, it was so measurable in terms of students as well as teachers
learning. First of all, because of appropriate utilization of technology secondly due to
following the Kolb’s learning structure. It provides the process of true picture of students
and teachers learning and obviously technology makes it more accurate and less time
consuming. There and then one can have a feel how lesson worked, and what to change
next.
Importance of Reflection
I learnt from this whole training how much important reflection is
Educators should be mindful of whether they are measuring what is easy to measure or
what is the most valuable to measure. Traditional schools today rely largely on multiple-
choice questions and fill-in-the-bubble answers specially if we talk about Matriculation
system. Many assessments also happen after learning has occurred and with results
delivered months later, usually after the course has ended. Assessments are more
instructionally useful when they afford timely feedback, as feedback is the key to gauge
students’ performance and this is really relatable with Schon Theory of reflection in Action
and reflection on Action both are equally important. The former refers to the kinds of tacit
knowledge we reveal in the way we carry out tasks and approach problems. The latter
occurs after the fact, and is often conscious and/or documented.
In the end I would like to mention the Steve Jobs Quote
“Learn Continually as there is always ‘one more thing’ to learn”
Overall all these theories and strategies are worth learning as they mark a great difference
in one’s teaching style.
