Day 1
Theme: Changing Roles of Educators in Distance
Learning amidst the Pandemic

On the first day of SB-INSET, teachers registered through the Google form at 7:00-8:00
AM and gathered through the digital platform, Google Meet, which started at 7:51 AM with
its Masters of Ceremonies were Mr. Brian Karlo Delos Santos, Teacher I and Ms. Shaira Mae C.
Ramos, Teacher I both from English department with the morning overseer, Mrs. Maria
Immaculada M. Padilla, Head Teacher VI in English. The program started with the expressing
love of Country through Audio Video Presentation followed by the Praising of the Lord led by
Mrs. Catherine D. De Guzman, Teacher II – English. In energizing the participants, Ms. Lovelle
S. Avelino, Master Teacher I- English gave a chair exercise to the participants. In
acknowledging the participants, Mr. Efrain J. Gallantes, Teacher I- English, he presented the
number of teachers in each department and as follows: 21 Filipino- headed by Mrs. Julieta
DG Madera; 22 English- headed by Mrs. Maria Immaculada M. Padilla; 22 Math-headed by
Mrs. Erlinda Dela Torre, 18 Araling Panlipunan-headed by Mrs. Grace P. Gilo; 12 Edukasyong
sa Pagpapahalaga-headed by Mrs. Michelle Dela Peña; 16 TLE-Tech. Voc headed by Mr.
Jujoe De Juan; 19 TLE-HE –headed by Ms. Ruby Viana and Ms. Cheridel Antaran; 22 MAPEH-
headed by Mr. Marcos S. Gomez Jr. ; and 25 Senior High School –headed by OIC, Mr. Jujoe
P. De Juan. In giving opening remarks, spearheaded by School Principal, Mr. Rodrigo G,
Natividad, inspired the educators that in second year of New Normal learning gave us many
challenges like difficulties in communicating using digital platorms yet we still need to
proceed and obliged to take responsibilities in teaching the students most especially online
teaching.
Ms. Cronica Ann D. Peñalba, Teacher I- English presented the Training Matrix and
House Rules for the said webinar and based on the DepEd Order No. 029 series of 2001 that
the said School Base –In Service Training for teacher will be starting on the dates January 31,
2022 until February 4, 2022 to conduct Mid-year SB INSET during Mid-year break, The
presentation of newly hired teachers were presented thru audio video presentation (AVP)
and welcomed as a part of Tondo High School family. Mrs. Maria Immaculada M. Padilla,
the Head Teacher VI of English department introduced the first resource speaker, the Public
Schools Division Supervisor , Dr. Paulo T. Adorio with the topic: Making Our Attitude Work for
Us. With this topic, teachers were inspired by his talk on how we can live in a happy and
fulfilled life? Plans set in our minds and there are a process of planning and will make a plan.
We are making our life- enjoy, feel sad, suffer. Life is what you make, take, and determine it.
Attitude is very important- it can influence, work, and relate your career and your life.
People can hear in our voice, see the way you move. For making the output in this topic,
teachers were assigned to make a reflection for Dr. Adorio’s topic which will be submitted on
the given Google drive from the Master Teachers Association.

For the second topic, Ms. Ruby Jane L. Dallarte, Teacher I –English Department
introduced Mrs. Gloria F. Galindo, Master Teacher II –English Dept. with the topic: Adaptive
Design for Learning and Mrs. Paz J. Salandanan, Teacher III-English department as a
Facilitator. In this second topic, Mrs. Galindo shared the said topic that she attended during
January 6, 2022 thru Webinar Series in Kaagapay with its resource speaker, Mr. Galvin Radley
L. Ngo, School Director of Ateneo de Manila. In this training, Mrs. Galindo reiterated that
teachers are designers’ of instructions and she compared that during the pandemic, since
we are working from home- kitchen is like a classroom where there is a lot of activities before
we prepare the food in our table. In our online class there are lots of adaptations that we will
make. Reinforce to reinvent. Whether we like it or not, we must force ourselves to the new
normal. We must learn the VUCA or the Volatile Uncertain Complex Ambiguous, we have
plans to be organized on our online classroom, and we must learn how to adapt for the
welfare of our children. How can we show our love as a second parent? We need to
prepare and try to communicate with our students most especially their parents enable to

identify what are the needs and how to remediate for those who are having a hard time for
learning. After the topic discussed, Mrs. Dallarte gave the teachers an activity to be
submitted on the given Google Drive. A fifteen minute break was given to all teachers. At
exactly 10:45 AM, the webinar resumed with the discussion of the next topic entitled;
“Equipping Teachers with Tools to Sustain & Manage Distance Learning, “as introduced by
Ms. Rodessa O. Lajada, Teacher I, Filipino department were Mrs. Carlene Marcy DR. Ignacio,
Teacher II- Filipino department ,as the resource speaker and Ms. Shara Jane C.
Chanliongco, Teacher II- Filipino department, as the facilitator. In this topic teachers were
able to know the different applications to be use for online learning as we are now on the 2nd
year of blended online learning. Teachers were able to identify different digital platforms for
making their lesson using it virtually. Different interactive games were also shared. These
different application programs will help teachers make their lesson more effective and
enjoyable as well, teachers were assigned to upload some applications that they have used
on their online teaching on the given google drive as their output. After the discussion,
teachers were given a lunchbreak at exactly 12; 00 in the afternoon.

After the lunchbreak, teachers were gathered at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon by
checking of the attendance per department. Mrs. Sheena S. Mationg, Teacher I –Filipino
department graced the afternoon session as Mrs. Julieta DG Madera, Head Teacher VI-
Filipino department as the afternoon overseer. It was started by expressing Nationalism led
by Ms. Aehln Cleir Garcia, Teacher I- Filipino department and a wonderful energizer led by
Mrs. Bernadette A. Agtuca, Teacher I- Filipino department. Ms. Juna B. Brazas , Teacher II –
Filipino department, introduced the next resource speaker, Mr. Ronald L. Driz, Teacher II-
English department and Mr. Enrico C. Roxas, Teacher I- English department with the topic “
Increasing and Promoting Learner’s Engagement in Distance Learning.” In this topic, leaners
should engage in different applications in online learning that we need to address and focus
on. it offers meaningful involvement not only as a teacher factor and teacher should design.
manifest of transfer of learning and demonstrate mastery of idea is a manner that students
prefer. As an output for teachers, teachers will upload picture/pictures utilized in teaching
before, during and after the lesson and it will be uploaded on a given google drive.

For the last topic, Mr. Paolo C. Laquian, Teacher II-AP department introduced the next
resource speaker, Mrs. Virginia J. Sazon, Teacher I-ESP, and Mrs. Michelle B. dela Peña , OIC
in ESP department as the facilitator with the topic “ Starting 2022 Strong; A Learning
Experience on Teacher Well-Being.” As Mrs. Sazon‘s discussion, teachers were able to
identify factors that impact on teacher well-being and it should be on a holistic approach.
Teacher well-being is important because it will carry us on the way of living of life. Activity
exercise should be a part on our daily lives enable to lessen our burden or stress and it will
help us to be physically and mentally healthy. Self-help such as sleeping 8-10 hours, exercise
such as immediate or mild, sharing to our colleagues professionally, and love that can we
give to our co-teachers, administration and staff and to our students and their parents as
well. Mrs. dela Peña gave the teachers an activity: What are the top 3 wins this 2021, what
are the top 3 mistakes this 2021 and what will I do to help me take care of well-being?
Activities will be uploaded on the given google drive. The INSET ended at exactly 4:00 in the
afternoon.

Day 2
Theme: Changing Roles of Educators in Distance
Learning amidst the Pandemic

As for the second day, registration thru Google form attendance started at 7; 00 in the
morning. At 7:37 am, the program was led by Ms. Ivy Jane Miguel, Teacher I-Math dept.
and the overseer was Mr. Edwin P. Yap, Head Teacher VI – Math dept. Opening prayer was
led by Mr. Jonathan C. Sing, Teacher I- Math dept. For warming up, Mr. Joel D. Castro,
Teacher I- Math dept. gave a chair exercise for the participants. The number of teachers
attended for the day were as follows; 22 Filipino teachers; 21 English teachers; 22 Math
teachers; 24 Science teachers; 18 Araling Panlipunan teachers; 12 ESP teachers; 16 TLE-Voc.
teachers; 19 HE teachers; 22 MAPEH teachers and 25 SHS teachers. House rules was led by
Mr. Yap and at the same time reported about the updates in different grade levels as well as
submission of forms and SALN for teachers. Mrs. Francia R. Bernardo, Teacher II- Math dept.,
gave the recapitulation for the first day of SB-INSET.

For the Topic 6, Mr. Salvador C. Daz, MT I –Science dept. , introduced the speaker,
Mrs, Editha P. Dungo, Teacher III-Science dept., and the facilitator, Ms. Maria Joie S.
Española, Teacher II –Science dept. with the topic: “Revisiting Bloom’s Taxonomy and
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in the 21st Century.” With this topic, physiological, safety, love
and belongingness, esteem, and self-actualization needs that makes a teacher an extra-
ordinary. It is important for us educators that we should upgrade and have positivity in our
profession and personal life. As for the activity, Ms. Española gave an activity to be
uploaded on google drive and to write a reflection on the said topic.

The next topic , Mrs. Erlinda A. dela Torre, MT I – Math dept. introduced Mrs. Edralyn B.
Arce, MT I-Math dept. as the speaker and its facilitator, Mrs. Mylen D. Olpato, Teacher III-
Math dept. with the topic: “ Revisiting Higher Order Thinking Skills in a Distance Learning
Modality.” With this topic, Mrs. Bitonio reiterated that VUCA world needs citizens with critical
mind, content and information such as analyze, synthesize, evaluate, reflect and apply-are
the skills students need to learn. Challenges in critical thinking skills are time, student factor.
Competence and perception is needed. In asking Socratic questioning-asking open minded
questions and help them in application in real-life problems. As for the output, Mrs. Olpato
asked participants to share the best practices in HOTS, to be uploaded on the given google
drive. Fifteen minute health break were given to the participants. Mr. Salvador C. Daz,
introduced Mr. Mark Ariel G. Pecajas, Teacher II-Science dept. as the speaker and Mr. Daryl
N. Agura, Teacher II-Science dept as the facilitator with the topic:
“Differentiated Learning Strategies and Approaches in Addressing Different Learning Styles,
Preferences, and Mainstreaming Different Abled Students. “ As a summary for the topic,
modifying, fit the inclusion for the needs of the students and to give eagerness to learn. Mr.
Agura instructed teachers the output to be uploaded on google drive given. The activity
ended at exactly 12:00 in the afternoon followed by a lunchbreak.

The INSET resumed at 1:00 in the afternoon, by checking of attendance and all of the
teachers on each department were all present. The Master of Ceremony in the afternoon,
Mr. Christian Erfe- Teacher I- Science dept., graced the program and Mrs. Abigael D.
Aquino, Head Teacher VI –Science dept. as the overseer in the PM session. Ms. Aleli B. Huab
gave an icebreaker entitled: Name it to Win it. Teachers who won were given a 50 pesos
load card.

Mrs. Erlinda A. Dela Torre, Master Teacher I- Math dept. Introduced Mrs. Juliet E.
Padilla, Teacher III-Math dept. as the speaker and Mr. Ryan Elizar J. Castilla, Teacher I-Math
dept. as facilitator for the topic entitled, “Crafting Valid and Reliable Assessment for Distance
Learning.” In this topic, teachers were able to identify what is the most common important
way/s for assessment. Mrs. Padilla stressed that in giving assessment to our students thru
online is much difficult, with some challenges like: no data load, no gadgets and some are
working and cannot attend to their synchronous class and with that, they have a hard time
in with regards on what type of assessment we are giving to. in transitional distance, the
teacher’s intent is to let the student understand the lesson and will also inform the student’s
experience. But the gap in time is delayed- we need to understand them more and with this
we are making out assessment valid and reliable.

For the last topic of the day, Ms. Lovely Joy Del Rosario, Teacher II- AP dept.
introduced Mr. Winston Arc V. Sabijon, Master Teacher II-AP dept. as the speaker and Mr.
Lawrence B. Duque, Teacher II-AP dept. as a facilitator with the topic, “Rediscovering Love in
Teaching: Practical Tips in Staying Motivated and Driven.” With this interesting topic, Mr.
Sabijon shared on how to be motivated and keep on going on what you will be able to
achieve in your life. We must be happy on what we are doing right now and be an
inspiration not only in our family and to our profession as well. We should not forget to give
thanks and praises to Almighty Creator and always staying happy and motivated because
we inspire children in the field of education. Mr. Duque shared a google form to be answer
on the topic discussed and must be taken a screenshot and upload it on the given g drive as
an output. After the topic, teachers were given reminders for the next day. The webinar
ended at 4:04 in the afternoon.

Day 3

As for the third day, registration thru Google form attendance started at 7; 00 in the
morning. At 7:45 am, the program was led by Mr. Henricson O. Hirao, Teacher II-MAPEH
dept. and the overseer was Mr. Jujoe P. De Juan, Head Teacher VI –TLE-Voc. dept.
Opening prayer was led by Mr. Ermel N. Borres, Master Teacher I- HOPE SHS dept. For
warming up, Mr. Ivan A. Perez, Teacher I- Math dept. gave a chair exercise for the
participants. Mrs. Robirosa L. Imperial, Master Teacher I- TVL- ICT SHS Dept. led the checking
of attendance and as follows: ; 22 Filipino teachers; 21 English teachers; 22 Math teachers;
24 Science teachers; 18 Araling Panlipunan teachers; 12 ESP teachers; 16 TLE-Voc. teachers;
19 HE teachers; 22 MAPEH teachers and 25 SHS teachers. House rules was led by Mr. Danison
M. Mabalay, Teacher I o TLE Voc. Tech. and Mr. Jerome Romeo D. Morcozo, Teacher I- TVL-
ICT SHS dept., gave the recapitulation for the second day of SB-INSET.

For the Topic 11: Level Up Powerpoint Presentation, Mrs. Robirosa L. Imperial MT 1 of
TVL-ICT SHS Dept., introduced Mr. Jose Noel S. Pelingon- ICT Coordinator for JHS, discussed
the different techniques and uses of the Powerpoint Presentation as tool for the online or
blended teaching. There was a method that is a great help using the MS-Powepoint
presentation. The teachers were given activities after the presentation and will submit on the
google drive link. Ms. Felisa D. Poso, Teacher III of TVL-ICT SHS Dept., introduced the speaker,
Ms. Hazel De Guzman, Teacher I of TLE-Vocational dept. and the facilitator, Mr. Ryan
Gutierrez, Teacher II o MAPEH dept. with the topic, Creating Video Lessons: Process,
Techniques and Tools. Teachers were able to create video lessons using this topic. For the
last topic, Ms. Robirosa L. Imperial, introduced Ms. Maricel B. Francisco Master Teacher II /
Office-in-Charge of ESP dept. of Doña Teodora Alonzo High School and the facilitator, Ms.
Rowena R. Mangahas, Master Teacher I, AP dept. with the topic: Promoting Mental Health
and Wellness of Teachers in Distance Learning in which the teachers enlightened with the
said topic. The morning session ended at exactly 12 in the afternoon.

After lunch break, afternoon session overseer, Mr. Marcos S. Gomez Jr., Head Teacher
VI of MAPEH Dept., initiated the Highlights of 2022 SB-INSET by Audio Visual Presentation. It
was also followed by Culmination Program spearheaded by the two OICs of TLE-Home
Economics Dept., Ms. Cheridel B. Antaran and Ms. Maureen T. Viaña, both Teacher I. Due to
some technical difficulties- the Culminating Program was again previewed the next day thru
FB Livestreaming.
